Thank you for the recipe. I made this yesterday, it tasted great but the stirring after the milk powder and nuts really exercises the arm muscles. The cutting after putting them into the fridge, another arm exercise. Very simple and delicious!
This was an honest trial which resulted in making good nougat! She and us both know now what to do and what to not do. 👌🏻 Tip: Dap some oil on the your cutting tool’s blade using tissue before you cut each section as it is advisable to dust your hands with cornstarch and press down after spreading the gooey nougat, flip, tear off the parchment paper which was underneath the nougat in a pan and start dividing after it has completely cooled given 3 hours. Method: Would be better to melt marshmallows on a water bath then mix in butter or white chocolate chips therefore you won’t need to add butter nor milk powder and sugar if you weren’t going to use sweet fruits just nuts.
Thank you for your feedback and suggestions! I appreciate your tips for improving the nougat-making process. I'll definitely try using oil on the cutting tool's blade and dusting my hands with cornstarch. Your method of melting marshmallows on a water bath and mixing in butter or white chocolate chips sounds like a great alternative. I'll keep all of this in mind for my next attempt at making nougat. Wowwwww! I've made torrone before using the classical Italian method with minimal equipment but it required so much work and over 3 hours for me whisking the meringue, caramelizing sugar and honey, and mixing it all gradually together. It was a nightmare and I never wanted to do that again. This version looks so simple and quick in comparison! It never occurred to me that nougat could be made with melted marshmallows. I have to try it! Is the final texture still quite chewy almost like caramel? I never liked the texture of marshmallows that much on their own although I love that more chewy nougat texture.
I just tried the recipe and it's awesome! I don't have nougat made with meringue side-by-side to compare, but the chewy texture and consistency seems spot-on! Wowwww! I am always going to use marshmallows from now on. What does the milk powder do? Is it mainly for taste or does it alter the texture somehow?
@@darkengine5931 Thank you for trying my recipe!!!!!!! and Happy to hear that you actually like it!!!!!!! Yes, the milk powder do affect the texture, harder or softer. 😊😊
@@Marecipes Thanks for the recipe! I am so happy to be able to make it with marshmallows now. It is so much faster and less tedious! With the milk powder, the one thing I found is that the end result has such a strong milky taste so I was wondering if I could cut the amount of milk powder in half next time without affecting the consistency too much to reduce the milky taste a little bit, or maybe add something else.
@@Marecipes I actually love the milky taste though! It reminds me a bit of panna cotta or Milky candy but with nougat texture which I think is totally awesome! But my wife is picky and tried it and she didn't like it as much having such a strong milky taste.
Roast almond. Melt butter on low heat nonstick pan. Add marshmallow to melted butter . stir until 80%melted and forms a ball. Add the milk powder. Mix until powder is well incorporated and no longer powdery. Transfer wax paper lined pan or silicon pan mold. Roll or flatten with desired thickness. cover with waxpaper. Let set in the fridge for one hour. Cut into desired shape.
The nougat tray looks fiddly and cumbersome, although I can see the good idea behind it. Coat the knife with a light swipe of oil - vegetable or coconut. It helps to prevent sticking.
If you keep it longer in the fridge, it will be very easy to cut. That day i need to shoot before the sunset, I just put in the fridge for like 15-20 minutes, the nougat is still too soft to cut xD
This is easier to cut if it's almost Frozen. I don't use not so dried cranberries or dry milk powder. I do use marshmallows and butter and white chocolate chips which can also be purchased that have no milk in them. I use dots candy and make the old jelly nougat that was always in my grandmother's candy drawer! You can add nuts honey any kind of dried fruit but I make it once a year as a copycat for the jelly nougats.
Hi everyone. I want to ask for an opinion. Is it ok if I add a dried fruit mix for the cake? I mean, the one with raisin & cherry. Thanks in advance. Pardon my grammar
Hello i want to ask something why i want to melt the marshmallows its not like the video ?? and the textures very bad HAHAHA 😭😭 it is have a type of marshmallow for cooking only ?
Do you put in the fridge before cutting? If you put in the fridge for at least 1 hour, it wont be sticky to cut. Sometimes, ingredients you use do matter too. 🙂
If your marshmallows didn't melt properly in a recipe, here are a few tips to help you achieve better results: Heat distribution: Make sure the heat is evenly distributed around the marshmallows. Uneven heat can lead to some marshmallows melting while others remain intact. Stirring the marshmallows or using a double boiler can help distribute the heat more evenly. Size and shape: Consider the size and shape of the marshmallows you're using. Larger marshmallows may take longer to melt, so you might need to adjust the cooking time accordingly. You could also try cutting the marshmallows into smaller pieces to promote faster melting. Moisture content: Marshmallows contain a small amount of moisture, which helps them melt. If your marshmallows are stale or have been exposed to air for a long time, they might have lost some of their moisture content, making them less likely to melt. Fresh marshmallows are more likely to melt properly. Temperature control: Pay attention to the temperature you're using when melting the marshmallows. If the heat is too high, the marshmallows can burn or scorch before they fully melt. Try using low to medium heat and keep a close eye on them, stirring frequently to prevent overheating. Alternative methods: If you're still having trouble, you can try alternative methods to melt marshmallows. For example, you can use a microwave-safe bowl and heat the marshmallows in short bursts, stirring in between until they melt. Alternatively, you can place the marshmallows in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, stirring until they melt.

What is the ratio of mallows and milk powder
I've tried the recipe but my marshmallow didn't melt. Any tips?
If your marshmallows didn't melt properly in a recipe, here are a few tips to help you achieve better results:
Heat distribution: Make sure the heat is evenly distributed around the marshmallows.
