What it stupid about it? To get a half yard is about 80 percent and the game is a locked up win. To stop GB from getting into FB range in 45 seconds is about 50-50. The analytics are closer than you think.
It’s a brash call and one that a majority of coaches won’t make in the NFL due to media scrutiny and other BS. Dan and Goff pulled that call and still got flack for it when it WORKED. Imagine if it didn’t? As far as the analytics go you’re right on that one but the game could quickly have been lost in the same breath which makes it a “stupid” play. It’s working for them. The Onside kick this week was a bit stupid though you’d have to admit. lol
@PlayAction.Sports that onside kick had no analytics to support it. It was a desperation play used about 6 minutes too soon. Would have been better to roll the dice and let the broken defense maybe get lucky and make a play.
