You guys Are so talented
Bruh you look like M. Shadows.
I love your decals on your guitar dude
That part made me wish I had a little sis sooooooooooooooo bad... :-(

Whose my mans at 2:58!?! Thank you for showing some Triv and keech love!
Ima big fan of trivium! Cant wait til a distant mirror
Never a reason not to show it! ❤
THAT WAS YOU!?
these guys are underrated, only 100 likes and everyone else is like a 1k or smth/
9:00 The first honourable mention is SICK!
Enjoying these kind of videos!
Dominik T It’s almost thrash haha
@Mabiony Thanks bro! You could check out my band JATALA ;)
@Mabiony Atilla
Heard some Lamb of God in there. This is my fav. Honorable mention? beat it!
I agree. Loved it
12:08 the exact kinda guy to write a korn riff
I know, I am a stereotype on legs!! 😂
I was fully thinking the same thing. Linkin park riff is next time.
Na SOAD
@@badrogersgr so nice and refreshing compared to the other styles which just sound like a bunch of random notes
Nah some mudvayne
Found myself liking the simpler sounding riffs that i could imagine vocals with them. The busier ones were too showcasey. But nice job everyone. Some serious talent in these videos
Exactly! I originally left a comment saying these guys r trying too hard and come off sounding the same, but then the last half showcased some guys who seem to know how to write for a full band, rather than just riffing off their tech skills.
That's why Black Sabbath is always gonna be my favorite!
Agree. Unless they're polyphia.
I feel like the simpler riffs could be with vocals and more complex in instrumental parts
As a vocalist I agree but I think sometimes in songs the vocals should be able take breather, sometime literally but I reckon it's good for a riff with more going on with it sometimes to just headband too
If you really wondered how a Kevin Chad would look like, he most certainly does not.
Hahahaha he would love to hear this comment lmfao
He's canadian from CANADIA!
Canadia gang
@@kyleswitchengaged Cool seeing you here dude🤘
The guy at 10:16 looks more like a Kevin Chad than Kevin Chad...

@Wes Rogers Serj Shinoda. HAHA Nice. I was thinking self titled era Jim Root but Serj Shinoda is much more fitting. Cool riffs.
@@Jakob_W3Ch4rg3_ That's actually really flattering, thank you!! Now, I need to play as good as Jim Root. 😁
Hey jared! Im a huge fan of your videos and you inspired me so much as a guitarist, I have been playing for about 7 years now and have progressed greatly. Love the videos man, keep it up!!
This is so wholesome ❤ keep practicing dude!!
Keep shreddin'!
Should totally show your skills and end up in one of these vids to come full circle!

Right?
The guy before him I thought was Brandon Urie for a second 😂
Steven Iskandar kkkkkk
10:16 was my favorite. I love the prog groove🤘
Thank you so much Christian :)
Many of these riffs feel like the guitarist was trying too hard to make a complicated and weird riff. However there are some great ones too
I agree
@Pedro Kantor yeah i agree about headless guitars. I never liked the way they look, even though they're better than regular ones
Yea like 6:03
Tasteful, simple, high quality
Yep didnt like most

Dude I've watched this riff like I don't even know how many times now, absolutely incredible
The first riff at the beginning of the video is what I liked the most, also, your ,,fast drum'' riff was cool, reminded me of Lamb of God.
7:30 totally reminds me of something from Bucketheads album Cuckoo Clocks from Hell
Why is no one talking about 4:00 that was my favorite one
Thanks bro, the truth is that I have received good comments that I did not expect XDD
Gutho that’s good! That riff right there is album or ep material! It’s that good
I’ve never heard anyone use the brrbbbrrbbrrb sound intentionally before. Lol.

6:43 is speaking to my old school heart.
Dustin Rohrs aw thanks 😍
I love these kinds of videos. So much talent out there and absolutely blows my mind on how different people interpret what a song should sound like
Chris Warren is my favourite riff and at 12:10 is also a badass riff
This was one of your better videos that you have made lately! There is SOO MUCH TALENT out there, with so many different ideas of riffs. and a good bit of tonal variety too. Nowadays what we have available to us to make recordings and effects is unbelievable. Each one of these riffs were awesome.-
When I was a lad I used to use a cassette player and put it near the speaker or instrument to record it... with my Bell and Howell tape recorder with Stereo mic!
For the synth I used a grand piano at school (lots of echo's and reverbs there)
I had a Tom Scholtz "Rockman" which at the time was like holding NASA technology... I wish I still had it for nostalgia...
I used a Simmons electric drum machine for drum sounds, it had i think 4 pads that you cold play with drumsticks and it could remember short sequences...
at a friends house who happened to have a really nice drum set I used his parents console TV as my amplifier
And tried to sync everything by playing one tape players line out into another tape recorders line in - sometime putting my finger on the reel to slow it just a tiny bit to get that timing right... and often playing along or laying down additional tracks that way.
And it was fun as all heck! And a couple recordings were not completely awful, lots of Rush songs, Led Zeppelin, Scorpions, BOC, and when no one was looking we played TOTO's song Rosanna - which is actually a pretty great song.
f I woke up back then and magically I had what I have today I am positive my head would have exploded. Kind of the same as when the laptop that came with it was suddenly hooked up to the "internet".... yikes! and Cheers
Can we get a 2020 quarantine massive solo mashup plz. Ily ❤️

why is no one talking about my boy Bryce Maopolski at 10:51?? dude’s a master at writing banger riffs!
commented before I saw your post. I tagged him at 10:50. Thanks for putting a name to the flame.
Thanks Bobby🤘
He slayed!
11:20 sounds so much like the Agonist I think it is their actual guitarist. Also don't see why the first honorable mention isn't near the top, it's arguably the strongest riff
Haven’t heard of them but am still honored to be mistaken for any actual guitarist! Thanks bro
@@guitarmichael Its a CAnadian melodic death metal band that plays very similar riffs, you may like them judging by what you played, they're female fronted but one of the heaviest of that genre and used to be the band Alyssa from Arch Enemy did vocals for before getting famous
It is the strongest riff but the dude has many years on all the rest so kinda makes perfect sense
The woman's riff at 9:55 was sooooo tight. The pinch harmonics make it so much better
So it took me 13 minutes and 27 seconds to realize I suck at writing riffs
Ha same
It took me only a few seconds to realize lol
Ha, it only took me not watching the video
I really like the format of this video like the way you introduced each section it was entertaining!
There were some unreal riffs in there also! \m/
The honorable mentions slayed everything from the rest of the video IMO.

So cool!! Thanks Jared for sharing my video!
6:04 For some reason, I got huge Chevelle vibes from this.
@4:38 a family that plays together SLAYS together!
Yuck
Here's the thing: The dude that opened the video had me at a single downbeat note!
Would've been nice to give him credit at the opening. I wish female guitarists would play with the Dweezel Zappa: My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Grandmother attitude that Mr. Opener did/does/do.
Bradley Hall had me WTF'ing caught between insane chops and The Face to back them up.
2:32 Bloody Hell! is that even a chord that can be played without the backing of a Dvorak symphony orchestra? Love me some BIG CHORDS.
4:04 Now, wait just a damned minute here. I'm seeing a pattern. Are you telling me that if I merely paint my fingernails black that I can play as inspired as that?
7:29 The dude with his baseball cap on backwards was pretty smokin' good too.
9:24 really melodic
10:14 awesome snarl
10:17 sorry but I liked the playing better than his snarl
11:50 loved the out of phase tone and inovative licks
