    MAN this program is AWESOME!!! GREAT tutorial. The learning curve isn't that bad compared to PS. I'm using Capture One Pro for Sony. I never liked PS but used LR(4/5) for years... Capture One Pro just blows everything else away... PLUS it's a real program, not some web subscription. You have a new subscriber.

    This is a great tip. I've been using freq separation on Affinity Photo. I need to try this approach. Thanks

      Scott Williams Photography Sin dudas, Scott.
      Soy usuario de Capture One y Affinity Photo desde hace apenas un par de meses.
      No trabajo profesionalmente en fotografía, aunque busco ser un aficionado avanzado en algún momento.
      Nuevamente, quedo agradecido por sus aportes.
      Saludos desde Montevideo, Uruguay.

    Thanks for the video, wonderful as always. Do you have any advice for reducing shiny or oily looking skin (hot spots)? When I've looked for help, photoshop is often recommended. However, I do not have PS, I have Capture One and Affinity. Thanks in advance for any advice)))

    • @ScottWilliamsPhotography
      @ScottWilliamsPhotography  5 лет назад

      Use Affinity Photo. I would use frequency separation and the patch tool on the lower layer to grab colour from less shiny parts of the face and place it on the shine. Photoshop techniques transfer well to Affinity Photo so you should at least check some Photoshop videos to get an idea. I must add this to the list of videos that I want to make.

    This cant even compare to LR or Photoshop. I am very disopointed with capture one

    • @ScottWilliamsPhotography
      @ScottWilliamsPhotography  3 года назад +1

      Each program has their strengths and weaknesses. Capture one is not primarily a re-touch application. It is used for organisation and the first pass for things like cropping, tone, colour and some limited editing. It is comparable to Lightroom in this respect. I would not use Capture One or Lightroom for skin smoothing. I would use something like Photoshop. In my case that would be Affinity Photo. I created this video to show that you could perform a type of skin smoothing with Capture one if you wanted to.

      @@ScottWilliamsPhotography I get it man. So your qorkflow would be C1 and PS or AffinityPhoto. No poing paying for C1 if you going to use PS after. LR and PS comes together for the same subscription cost as C1 now.

    • @ScottWilliamsPhotography
      @ScottWilliamsPhotography  3 года назад +1

      My workflow is Capture One for all of my images. Then I will use Affinity Photo for advanced cleanup or effects. I have to agree with you though. I think with the current price increase I can't see why anyone would opt for a Capture One subscription. Even buying it outright is only worth it if you are not going to upgrade every year.

      @@ScottWilliamsPhotography you are right. I had a go at C1 and going back to lightroom I miss the layers so much. Hope they will update the LR with layers sometime soon.
