C1Pro is developed on Macs. The programs in the plugin preferences tab are added via the OS, which is automatic on Mac. In Windows you need to find a suitable file using explorer and then right click and select "open with". Locate the appropriate .exe file and open the file. This will add the program to the plugin preferences list. You can control which programs you see when you use "open with" or "edit with" by checking /unchecking the appropriate boxes.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment to help Ian. You are correct. That is what I normally do. For some reason the Nik collection programs have just not populated the list after I have used them. I have also checked in the preferences to see if they are included in the plugin list and they are not. This is why I have no idea.
BINGO! Working. I have installed the DXO version and it works. I have no idea why. It should have worked with the free version. I find these things are usually down to user error. I probably made a mistake. Though I now also have Photolab on the list and I have never opened an image with Photolab.
Hi Claire. F7 & F8 are keyboard shortcuts for new and clone variant. This is not the same as export as you are not changing the file format or able to resize the image and so are not the same thing as export.
You are very welcome Ali. Good Question. I don't think you can. You can copy all of the layers but not just one. It would also be useful to be able to copy the adjustments from one layer to another and not just the mask.
Thanks for your tips. I've just started using Capture One pr0 12 for Fuji and I do have one problem that perhaps you can help me with. The problem is that my raw files all appear as b&w both in preview and while trying to edit them. The jpgs I shoot b&w but the raws should be color. If you have any advice i would appreciate it. Thanks again for your videos)))
Thank you Robert. Check the curve type within the base characteristics on the Colour tab. You may have a black & white curve selected as default for import. Also check the adjustments section on the import panel to see if you are applying any default adjustments on import.
@@ScottWilliamsPhotography Thank you so much for replying. I am struggling with this problem. The curve is set to Auto. If I open up the curve tab, I am able to choose different looks such as Fuji Classic Chrome, etc. Then I can see the thumbnail and editing window in color. But all the other thumbnails are still B&W. Maybe that's the way it is with Capture One? As for import adjustments, I am unable to see where I would be able to choose a color choice. I can choose import with auto adjustments or include existing. Anyway I am sorry for taking up your time. I have, by the way, written to Capture One support but I am guessing they don't answer during weekends. Going from L.R. to Capture One is, if nothing else, a challenge. Thanks again for your videos. I am a fan)))
I'm thinking that maybe Capture One in AUTO setting is applying the film simulation that the image was taken with. So if you take it in acros then it will apply acros and if you take the image in velvia then velvia will be applied on import. In the base characteristics panel try setting the curve to Provia(STANDARD) and then click on the 3 dots in the panel and select "save as defaults for x-t3". Re-import your B/W images and see if it applies Provia to them. I'm not 100% sure on this stuff as I don't have a Fuji camera to test with. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.
Hi Scott, I have found your videos very helpful as I am considering switching to Capture One Fuji from Lightroom. I have a question you may be able to help me with. I imported all my photos into Capture one Fuji. However, some I shot with a sony RX100. Could all the photos with an arw extension be exported (at the same time) to a folder as jpegs and then imported back into Capture One Fuji as jpegs so I could tweek them to look the way they were before they came over from Lightroom since the conversion did not do a good job on some of them?
Hi John. I have no idea. Try it and see with a trial version. If I had to use multiple camera brands and did not want to pay for the full Capture One Pro which is quite expensive I would look at alternatives. I would look at Alienskin Exposure x4 and On1 photo. Both of these are very good Lightroom alternatives with Exposure X4 being the closest thing to Lightroom. Also Luminar is very good for image processing but it's catalog handling is not as mature as the others.
@@ScottWilliamsPhotography Thanks for the quick response. I On1 and Luminar and planned on using On1 but after watching your videos, Capture 1 looks like the best alternative.
Vous avez une belle maîtrise de ces outils de traitement des fichiers RAW, bravo et merci.
Thank you Patrick.

@@ScottWilliamsPhotography NIK works for me in C1Pro 12.1? Win 10 (1903). I do have the DXO version rather than the free version.

You are welcome Patrick. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.
@18:00 Auto adjust multiple images - THANKYOU !!
You are welcome 😀
Great tips! thanks Scott!
Thanks for taking the time to comment Wouter.
Very helpful! Thanks!
You are welcome. Thanks for the comment.
Nik collection tip is great
It is handy. I use Luminar 3 quite often with Affinity Photo.
Hi Scott thanks again for video, to copy an image into the same folder could you not have pressed F7 (no adjustments) or F8 (with adjustments copied)?

Brilliant, thanks Scott! Now, any tips on reproducing the Orton effect in Capture One?
Thanks
Cheers Rod. I will have a think about the Orton effect. If I manage to get it to work I will make a tutorial.
I knew you'd take it as a challenge :-)
Thanks for sharing these tips. I have a question: How can I copy and apply a single adjustment layer from one file to another file? Thank you

The fonts in YOUR Capture One are different from mine! Did you change them somehow?
Not that I know of.
