- We visited Tainan, Taiwan which is Taiwan's oldest city and reputed to have the best food in the entire country! So made a vlog of some of the best things to do in Tainan - many of which you guys recommended! This includes the Anping District, as well as some of Tainan's delicious food, historic temples & forts, and an amazing cultural experience in the oldest city in Taiwan!
(We did not properly film it, but we liked Tainan so much we stayed an extra day and ate allllll the food! Definitely recommend a visit! :D)

1. Head to the Anping District - which is rich in history and used to be known as "Dayuan", which is the origin of the name "Taiwan"! Neat, huh!?
2. See nature taking back over at the historic Anping Tree House.

Tainan is the historical and cultural capital of Taiwan. It has always been an important cultural center and has preserved many historical sites and temples.
Tainan is even more famous for its strong human touch!
Moreover, Tainan has also been rated as the World Food Museum by the Wall Street Journal!
In addition to being famous for its food and culture, it is also the hometown of the international director Ang Lee and the city where Bubble tea was invented.
Obviously, you can’t finish sightseeing in Tainan in one day. You are welcome to come back to Tainan again!

Tainan is my family’s hometown! Hope you come back one day and stay longer. Food is amazing and shopping for small gifts is fun. Also, check out the Chuan Mei theater’s outside. You can see Yan Jhen-fa’s hand painted film posters. I walked by it for years without realizing it was one guy hand painting entire movie posters for the theatre. One of the last people in Taiwan doing so! I saw him painting a few years back without really knowing what he was painting

Love Japanese curry in Taiwan. I also like pasta there. It’s not quite the same as Italian pasta but they have their own unique taste and flavor that’s delicious

Glad you guys made it to Tainan! Great videos! But too bad you’re only there for a day. Tainan is probably the richest city in Taiwan (but lesser known) and it could take days to explore all the fun alleyways
We did end up staying one extra day because we liked it so much (though we decided not to include it in this video because it was just all food 😂) but next time we will definitely stay longer!!

I love all your videos on Taiwan. One thing to correct though. It’s not Chinese temples. It’s actually Taoist Buddhism temples, very uniquely Taiwanese.

How long do you plan to stay in Taiwan?
Yes!! We ended up filming a lot in Taiwan because we knew we were going to have to take a break from traveling for a while for a sick relative. So we made a huge backlog! That and Taiwan does not have nearly as many videos about it so we wanted to cover it well! :D
We actually left Taiwan back in May, and unfortunately I think this will be the last of our Taiwan videos for now!

The newer old building at the site of Fort Zealandia were built by Japanese. Most of the old buildings with black roofs were Japanese built.

as a taiwanese, just curious what is the reason that you choose taiwan as a travelling destination? Hi there!! I had been interested pre-covid as a potential destination from Japan - I had heard it was a friendly country with a lot of beautiful sights and culture! We did not make it back in 2019, but we later made friends who lived in Hualien for a while and they highly recommended a visit to Taiwan and knew we wanted to go the next time we were in Asia!! We absolutely loved it too!
Unfortunately we have been in the USA since May this year! One of our parents has been fighting cancer, so we've been spending time back. Hopefully we will resume our travels soon.

Hi! I am unfortunately not sure. I think someone using a wheelchair could get on to the main grounds, but I don’t remember anything but stairs for parts of the fort.

We are currently in the USA! Unfortunately one of our parents has been sick so we've taken a pause on travel, but we are hoping to get back to it when we can! :)
@@IfWeGoTo we are sorry to hear that. Hopefully our good wishes and prayers to the person that is recovering from being ill. The doctors are very good in Taiwan. After just one treatment (of 3 in total- once every week), she felt better already and loosened up and with exercise. Not sure why they do or offer it more readily in North America as it is a common treatment

Doctors visits can be so complicated in America. I think it's just a different system that is made extra complicated by insurance. I'm glad a lot of other places in the world make healthcare easier though.

@@IfWeGoTo Made in Tainan using fresh beef that has not been frozen on the same day, it has a completely different taste from ordinary beef noodle soup. Almost everyone who has tasted it will praise it.That's why I say it's a pity😘
