It was an important entertainment activity in Taiwan's early agricultural society. It was loved by Taiwanese people and became Taiwan's main folk opera. 2. 35:48 Taiwanese opera (Chinese: 歌仔戲; pinyin: gēzǎixì; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: koa-á-hì; lit. 'Song Drama') commonly known as Ke-Tse opera or Hokkien opera, is a form of traditional drama originating in Taiwan.Taiwanese opera uses a stylised combination of both the literary and colloquial registers of Taiwanese Hokkien. Its earliest form adopted elements of folk songs from Zhangzhou, Fujian, China. The plots are traditionally drawn from folk tales of the southern Fujian region, though in recent years stories are increasingly set in Taiwan itself. Taiwanese opera was later exported to other Hokkien-speaking areas, such as Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Fujian, China.

Hi!! It is hard to say how much cash you will need because it can vary so much with where you stay, how you like to eat, activities or souvenirs you may purchase, how many people are going, etc! I would do a little math for how many meals you will need and what experience you want to have (like sit down vs street food), determine the cost of transit, the amount if you need to pay you hotel in cash, a budget for extras that you may be interested in, and then set an overall budget from there and bring a bit extra in case of emergencies.

I could see islands being a little more relaxed though. We rented a scooter on a tiny island in Vietnam once.. they did not even check our IDs, licenses, or anything. Paid in cash. It was a bit crazy!
Only in Taiwan will people go out of their way to solve a problem … like I said before :-)
Absolutely! They are the best!
As for the funny rocks , can be seen on Taiwan Island , also with funny names .
3 years ago , forget the name of the city down south , got a push bike , regretted it again .
All the formations were super cool , road home , mostly down hill ! Worth a visit if in the area :-)
Oh we did not know about those! Would be interested to see those one day. Thanks so much for sharing!
😎❤️🇹🇼‼️
Thank you!!
1st comment.
thank you!!

Thank you!!!

Hmm, should stop watching your videos, just show me what I missed last time , was sort of tied to Taipei trying to get home 2020 :-)
Not sure your actual time you are recording . As for the mosquitoes , malaria not , Dengue yes , lots of spraying in Tainan :-)
Will be there next February .
Have a couple of friends there that could show you something of the orchid industry there . Massive !
Home of Taiwan Orchid Growers Association and World Orchid show and conference next year !
Hahah that just means you will have to see them next time!!
We recorded back in May of this year. We have just been releasing them very slowly because unfortunately we have a sick relative and knew we would have to take a travel break for a while.
Ohhh we did not know that Taiwan had a huge Orchid industry, now that would be cool to see
@@IfWeGoTo Thanks ,am busy working on it . Sorry to hear about the sick relative , all better now I trust .
As for the orchids , Iwas shocked whena friend took me to ' Taiwan Orchid Growers Association ' , quite literally a suburb of orchid factories .
Like me , maybe get to see them next time :-)
I wish it was! It is an ongoing illness unfortunately!
Exactly! I hope you get to see a lot this time!
@@IfWeGoTo Sorry to hear about the illness . :-(
Most people come to this island for diving.
I wish we had done more diving while there for sure! It’s beautiful!
I dont think it is legal to touch the coral in Taiwan.
I hope not!! It happens all too often all around the world though!
I’ve enjoyed your videos. But I think 39 mins is too long for a single episode. If you break this into two or three, it might be easier to watch.
Hi!! Yeah I agree, this was definitely longer than we wanted but it didn’t feel like there was a good split anywhere because we didn’t plan this one! We’re definitely going to try to keep them to 10-15 minutes!
I am not 春,Mark is.
Oh, I am sorry, I do not understand?
It's a rock
But it’s a cool rock lol
@@IfWeGoTo it sure is!
Cash still reigns in Taiwan!
Haha we sure learned that! 😂
no...people are not allowed to touch the turtles...it is illegal. but sometimes some people would break the law...sorry
Im glad that they are protected!!
This is why I always bring American cash to exchange. You can’t buy street stall food with a credit card.
We try not to carry large amounts of cash because we tend to be on the road for so long and most places have ATMs to pull as you need it.
Not this island though!
This is Taiwan you guys… tell a Taiwanese and they will keep an eye on your gear
They probably would have huh!! It is a very safe and helpful place!!
This is not a very good video. I wouldn't call these people seasoned travelers at all. Way better video out there with information on the island.
Care to share a good example of a good one?
We have been traveling full time for nearly 6 years, so I’d say we’re pretty experienced travelers (despite making mistakes sometimes lol), but we’re always looking to improve our video skills.
❤👍
Thank you!!
