How to fix 2008 Saturn Astra Key fob Not Working

The key fob on my 2008 stopped working. I have 2 keyfobs and both stopped working. I checked their batteries and they were good so I had to figure out what the issue was. Next thing I did after checking the key fob battery is to check the fuse One of the fuse box is located in the trunk, but I could not open the trunk as it has a power switch and only operates with the key fob. So I accessed the fuse box by folding the don the back seat and entered the vehicle through the back door. I did not know which fuse it is, so I started checking all the fuses one by one. It turned out one of the fuse was blown. It was a 25amp fuse. I replaced the fuse and it started to work. The important thing I found is before replacing the fuse, make sure the disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and after replacing the fuse reconnect it. if still does not work, then disconnect the battery again leave it for 5-10 then reconnect it. It should work if it's the fuse issue. If your fuse is good and keyfob still does not lock or unlock, then it could be a different issue which I am not sure at this time. Hope this video helps. I have the same issue. I changed the fuse but didn’t disconnect the battery. I also found 10A which was blown and replaced it with 25A in the 38 spot of the rear fuse box. It didn’t work still. I will try tomorrow to disconnect the battery. Thanks!

Thanks for the video. My key fob remote and battery are fine. Fuse is fine too. But there seems to be another problem with the ignition switch perhaps.

Try disconnecting the battery for 15-30 minutes and reconnect it. This usually resets everything. See if this works for you.
