A family member brought my children home hermit crabs. I’m going crazy trying to figure out how to properly take care of them. For now they are in a tank with a sponge and a tiny bit of food. Just gave them to us today :( thankful for your videos. Ordering things now and just hope they will be ok until the stuff gets here
Hello, could you tell me if these items are safe for our hermie's? Glass bowls, burlap, popsicle sticks, reg. Rope thank you. You have so much great info.😃
hi! I recently got a hermit crab and was very scared - and didn’t do my research. I know I know it was unfair for my hermit crab and i’m very ashamed of it. I didn’t even have any idea about humidity levels, heat levels, nothing. but watching your videos have definitely saved him. he now has a heater, humid tank, fresh and salt water, dark hiding places and plenty of substrate. there definitely are still are more improvements to be done but you have helped me so much. you’re doing great, keep it up! ps- i’m nervous to get another one, because now i’m aware of the way they are caught and i don’t know if i’m comfortable supporting those boardwalk shops. because the way they are caught, i’m not sure. plus, i only have a five gallon right now. should I get another one?
Quick question : Is it ok to have salt without iodine for salt water until im able to get like well the other stuff i got my crab like 3 weeks ago and i know barley nothing about them he is not from a beach shop to me but the person who gave him to me didnt say anything soooooo.
IDK either. Normally they are not used with hermit crabs because they zap up all the humidity. Under tank heaters placed on the back of the tank work much better.
I have two smallish crabs in a ten-gallon and will soon be upgrading them to a 75+ gallon tank. I was just curious if that is too much room for only 2 crabs and should get another or if its a good amount. (btw I'm open to anyone answering)
@@hermitshoundsandhorses9971 thank you, I'm so used to filling things up at the tap. That when I had to refill my water sprayer, I totally became a creature of habit and a zombie. He survived and is doing okay today thank goodness
No, I wouldn't the chemicals would still be present. Fresh spring water for that would be best, and for spraying the crabs if you use the spray bottle technique for humidity
Ive really been wanting to upgrade Currently I have 4 crabs in a 40 gallon breeder☺ Id love to send you my crabitat pictures. In may have spent a little too much on it😂
I have sent you pictures of my crab tank on your Instagram, and you never respond, I was really hoping they would be in this video, and that you would give me some tips on what I can improve, take a look at your Instagram. I don’t have one myself so I had to send you them under my mom’s account.
No I dont want this series to end 😢😭

Thank you so much for reviewing my 55 gallon tank!! I appreciate it 💕
No problem!
Great video! I am thinking of doing something similar on my channel. What camera do you use? :)
I use the Cannon T7I and it is great.

So glad I could help! I would not get another crab unless you upgrade the tank. Once you get a bigger tank you could look into crab adoption.
@@hermitshoundsandhorses9971 thanks so much! i have been working on uprgading, keep up the good work!

hello
if you need help I could help reply back if you accept this offer
Can you make a video of how to hang up a heat lamp because I can’t/ don’t know how

No it is not too big. Ideally you want 10 gallons per crab, so you could get 5 more.
Is a 15 gallon tank big enough for 2 crabs?
Yes
Hi I have a hermit crab and how do u clean them?
The crabs themselves do not need cleaning. For the enclosure just remove food daily and water a few times a week.
Is it ok to put cloth like material plants in my hermit crab enclosure
yes
Thank you so much, just wanted to make sure
If I accidentally put tap water in it, what should I do?
Remove it immediately, it is not safe.

Can I use tap water for my eco sand substrate?

I agree with Miranda
9th great video

Hi
Hello! I upgraded recently. I sent a picture of my new tank and Its a 20 gallon. I hope you check it out! Thanks!
Yes! I will have to check it out!
For substrate can I use aquarium sand mixed with play sand
I would stick to just play sand.
