I found this channel an hour ago after deciding to dip my hands into hermit crabs, and even compared to some of the stuff I’ve seen in the reptile hobby, this is definitely in my top 5 most impressive things I’ve seen

My sweet niece knows my favorite place is the ocean and the beach and decided to get me a hermit crab for my bday a few weeks ago. I decided to try my best to give Eugene the best life possible and now have a 10 gallon tank (soon to be a 50) and everything he could want. Thank you for all the help

I’m getting a huge tank today, so my crabbies will go from 40 gallons to 150 gallons. My goal is to make it look natural like your amazing tanks. Where did you purchase your plants? Did you use only fish tank plants? What did you use for the water dripping in your tank? I’ve learned so much from your videos...watched every one of them. EEEKKKK!! That is so exciting! What an awesome tank upgrade. You are going to have so much fun! We only have live (aquatic) plants in our pools right now. We do plan on trying live plants at some point in the tank, however there are a lot of parameters involved with that. When we have enough research data collected on that, we will release a video all about it. The water tree drip is made by Thirive from PetsMart. We saw it as we were building the tank and thought we would give it a try. We haven't talked about it though because it isn't holding up and we hate to advise anything to you guys that isn't top notch. It only worked well for about a month, partly well for another month, and now not at all. All of the other products are linked on our website on the amazon products, chewy products, or the favorite products tab. Feel free to email us with questions! Have FUN!!!!

We have a seperate tank set up for them already! Wishful thinking and pre-planning! We hope this crabadise entices a lot of breeding!

Ok so I know this is off topic but you guys SAVED my hermet crab. Before I watched the diet video, he had the powder food and pellets and never came out. Now I feed him veggies and fruits and hes so energetic!

I just bought a 55 gallon tank for my crabs to upgrade to and I also have a small tank they are in now and this gave me a ton of ideas and I’m definitely going to be adding a tank on top of my 55 gallon so they can climb higher.

Thank you so much, what a sweet comment! I wanted to mimic their natural habitat as closely as possible. In the wild they live along the coast line amongst the trees and travel to the shoreline for food and water. So I decided I wanted the tanks to have a forest side and a beach side that they could literally travel from one end to the other to meet their needs. They seem to love it!

I have a question do they stink up the hole room if they do then how do you stop it
There is absolutely no smell to hermit crabs. The only time they smell is when they die... and even then it's only if you leave them in the tank for days/weeks after they die. My tanks smell like earth... kind of like a garden or fresh forest.
Could you almost always have a live in there it be cool seeing the crabies.

This is AMAZING!!!!! It's such a labor of love! That is truly crab paradise (well, next to the wild, of course!!) I can see so many new videos about this! I love so much of it! I love how you used cholla wood in the "hamster wheel" and your backgrounds look so natural! Man, you make me really want to go finish my tank build! It always takes longer than you think, right?! I've got so many questions I hope you can answer in future videos. I'm super intrigued by your backgrounds and pools specifically. How did you do the backgrounds? And I'm really interested in the water drip water pool and how the water is changed in the pools. I also want to know what lights you used! I noticed the custom tables right away, that's genius to make all the tanks the same height! I hope you took lots of mid-build pics and video. I'd love to see as much as the process as possible. Congratulations on your hard work! I bet it feels amazing having it done!

Thanks! We do have a video that goes into more detail about each tank. We have tried real plants.... however, the crabs LOVE them and demolish them faster than we.can replace them... and that gets very expensive. So, instead we just have one or two live plants or plant matter for them.
