This is one of my very favourite places in Britain. The sense of peace and calm is unlike anywhere I've ever been.

To think that you are sitting on a stone bench that people have been sitting on for well over a thousand years watching water boatmen that are probably descended from the original 6th century inhabitants. I love how time stretches out and some things remain constant. 😊

@@allanbarton Yes I enjoy your channel and the detailed history knowledge you display. Have you been to Glastonbury and do you know the history ?
      Thanks.

@@Stand663 I spent a week near Glastonbury last year, such a magical place. Wonderful to climb the Tor with my son as the sun was setting.

Today I visited Vreta Kloster (Abbey) in Östergötland, Sweden and it had one of the most beautiful churches I've witnessed. It had wonderful Romanesque workmanship brought by the Cistercians, a viking age Swedish Christian grave and a cenotaph of the old Sverker royal family of Sweden. I don't expect you to have visited it but if you ever come here you should maybe visit it because you're so knowledgeable.

Love your content. I would be delighted to see some Irish content. Dublin could be a nice "business" trip. From the ferry you can walk to Trinity College where the Book of Kells is, Christchurch which is Irelands Westminster Abbey or Dublin Castle where the blackpool is, Dubh linn in Irish and where Dublin got its name. Then there is the Irish Peerage system.

My wife and I are planning an Irish trip, but it might not be until next year.

@@allanbarton Excellent. Very cheap to go as a foot passenger from Hollyhead even as just a day trip but if you want to get out of Dublin best to bring a car. You may want to go via Pembroke which will land you beside Wexford, another town rich in history. It can be faster to drive than fly these days. Im confident both of you will enjoy yourselves.

I went there once with a church group. It is known as St. Winefrieds well. It is more like a small swimming pool than a well.

@@redmi9834 you can have a dip if you like, when I was there a few weeks ago someone was swimming in it.
