    Is it common for m57tu to have problems with the hydraulic lifters?

    • @crank3646
      @crank3646  3 года назад +3

      Not really, most of the time, the petrol BMW engines have issue with that

    Great video! Thanks!
    I have the older M57 with 272 ps. Forgot to remove paper from the air intakes after deleting the swirl flaps. No air/exhausts escapes one oer two of the intakes.. Any ideas what could have happened? There is no paper left preventing any valves.
    I would be so happy with the slightest advice! Thanks!

      So what happened

    • @trulskoch1889
      @trulskoch1889 2 года назад

      @@insideridin1376 the paper damaged the glow plugs which partly cracked allowing a small amount of air/exhaust to escape two cylinders. Cracks small enough to allow combustion and the sound of the leaking was loud. Very happy the solution was as simple as replacing the plugs!

    @CRANK could one use the "old style" camshafts to "beef up" the valve train in place of the more inferior ones used now as shown in your video?
    I can't believe someone would comment on the length of your tutorial and the info included. Maybe they don't need your info that's why they decide to continue watching it as long as they did... man
    English language lesson? How many languages does that person speak? The audacity of one to critique the linguistics of someone who speaks at minimum 2 languages, English not being the primary one.
    Keep doing your thing @CRANK!

      Thanks for the support! I know is annoying for a lot of people, but still I know at least, few people will find something helpful in all of this.
      In theory, it is not impossible. But there are a lot of differences in both types of camshafts. The main one is that the hollow camshafts, has only the intake one attached to the timing chain, while the solid ones, has the both camshafts attached to it. Probably, it will be possible, if you use the upper timing components from the older generation camshafts. I have never tried it, so can't tell for sure
