    Really wish when you guys would do these comparison videos that you'd refer to the bikes by their names, and stop referring to them as "this one here" "mine" "the one I got" ect.... Because people like me like to listen to your videos while doing other things like driving, and I can't see what "this one" or "that one" is that you're referring to. Please help your listeners. Because then this video is doomed to be only viewed while I'm pooping.

      @@alphacapo Really? The MT09 is an 890cc triple with 118hp & the MT07 is a 689cc parallel twin with 72bhp. They are in completely different market sectors. The reason the MT07 isn't top dog anymore is because the Hornet, Duke 790 & GSX8S have larger capacity's of 755cc, 776cc & 799cc respectively. Therefore by adding 60-100cc to the MT07, you make it both competitive & an MT08.....if Yamaha were so inclined to change the name that is. Or they just make it bigger & retain the MT07 name which is probably easier tbh. Either way though it will most likely be getting a capacity increase that will put it closer to 800cc than 700 to make it more competitive.

    I don't get it. Since when are " handling foybles" a wonderful part of a bikes character ? I've ridden the MT enough to know the brakes and suspension let the bike down. No USD forks and not even radially mounted calipers which, (lets face it) arn't big budget items that would have helped the bike a lot. The short wheelbase does allow easy wheelies and make you feel like a hoon but also contribute to the instabilty in corners. No doubt Yamaha already have an updated bike in the making to match the new hotshots.

      I have a klx 300 and a vstrom 650 and the vstrom is way more fun on pavement. not sure what kind of stupidness you're getting into on asphalt on a klx. Now on dirt, obviously the klx is a blast

      @@colbyprince9409 hah im similar, i have the klx and a versys 650. 😛 The KLX is just soooo much lighter. You can drag it around in a parking lot and it turns on a dime. I can rail tight corners on that better than the versys. But the versys has the stability and power for sweepers, but my god can the klx fall right over with that big 21”. Its just really really fun for the quick bops around where as my versys is more touring feeling…although i ride the klx pretty far now (new seat!). Wish it had a bigger tank.
      I guess the stupidness is just from that it has big knobbies, sits like a dirt bike, doesn’t look like a road bike and has craaaazy tight cornering abilities on the road. Its very rowdy feeling. The versys is much tamer.

    So it's a coincidence that Motobob uploaded a video yesterday praising the GSX8S, and today it's your turn. We understand that Suzuki is spending money in the marketing department and they can buy anyone's opinion. At least, though, don't be unprofessional and shit on other brands and bikes. Am i the only one who thinks that the Suzuki is an ugly version of the MT? They copied the looks, they failed, it's much heavier, and you know nothing about the engine. It hasn't been tested through the years like the CP2.

      Nah, it’s relevant. Knowing the model cycles of bikes, the MT07 is due a refresh. So its age is very relevant when they’ve held on to so many issues for so long. An update is due, so I wouldn’t put my money in the Yamaha bank just yet.

      It's still fairly expensive, and the GSX 8S has it beat in every way. It's just how it is. Period. Their opinions are spot on.

      It's totally relevant! Suspension technology moves on, as does everything else. When bikes aren't updated during that time they feel a bit tired when compared to a newer bike.
      Take the SV650, a great bike in its own right, and sells by the bucket load. To the GSX-8S though and it'd feel lacking in almost every department.

      There isn't really anywhere else to put it. The legislation dictates where it has to go when it leaves the factory. Rear light placement on most modern bikes is a sticking point, but in many regions it can be moved using aftermarket parts.

      @SlingKing2015 Год назад

      @visordown Wait, when you say legislation dictates it, are you referring to some new legislation, or are you saying that based on the design of the tail section and legal requirements for taillights, Suzuki had no other place to put it?...... There must be something about the process that I don't understand. I would assume the legal requirements didn't change, and Suzuki designers and engineers would know exactly where the taillight needed to be long before the final design was approved? Is there some legal inspector touring the factory saying, "No no no. This just won't do. This taillight is way too high and visible on the end of this tail section. I'm going to need you guys to rework it lower, into this disgusting cheap plastic that's already an eye sore so it's more visible." 😆 I admit, I've never witnessed how it actually works, but I can't imagine the taillight/brake light location being some afterthought. Help me understand it better.

    The Hornet is more fun than both these two bikes. It’s just lighter, more nimble, quicker turning and most of all, faster. However, the GS8 feels like a bigger bike and is more stable, but lacks the power of a bigger bike.

      I disagree totaly to that the hornet is faster or more nimble unless you are taking the twitchyness as a good trait of the hornet , the ones i have rode are all viby nuumbing my fingers and to get any usefull pull you need to rev the cuts out of it, not for me very tirering , the only thing off the hornet that i would like to see on the 8s is the 3 stage quickshifter timing and the ablity to reduce the engine braking , releasing the throttle suddenly on the 8s is like slaming the brakes on some time just a little too much other than that the 8s is bloody lovley

      @@damon1957ful you may disagree, your wrong too but you may disagree😂 Have you really rode the Hornet, “Have to rev the guts out of it to get any useful pull” it definitely does not sound like you’ve rode it. The GS8 does have better low down torque, just. Having said that it runs out of puff and vibrates like your Mrs favourite toy at motorway speed. Each to your own. The GS8 does carry the bigger bike feel but lacks the power to pull it of enough to convince anyone. The Hornet wins any drag race you wish with GS8 and is definitely more agile around town. However, given the choice in this segment of the market, the KTM 790 is a cut above anything the Suzuki, Honda or Yamaha are offering.

    • @richardwarsinske7064
      @richardwarsinske7064 Год назад +1

      The standard gearing on the Hornet is much taller (in every gear) so I have to wonder how much this effects the Suzuki's perceived low end torque advantage. Actual dyno results from the GSX 8S are only 6hp greater than the MT07 but 13 less (+ over 10kg heavier) than the Hornet so the Honda should easily win any contest of speed (as you predicted). I'm still skeptical on how well the new CFMoto produced KTM 790's compares. I've not yet seen any dyno results on the 2023 KTM 790's but in all the measured acceleration testing I've seen the Hornet was quicker. The one track comparison showed the KTM (105hp US version) to be .2 sec a lap quicker than the Hornet but 5kph slower max. trap speed. The GSX 8S was a full 2 sec. slower and 13kph down on trap speed compared to the Hornet. I've not ridden any of these bikes, just sharing information I've run across that is measured and not just opinions. @@Steve-motorcycles

      @@richardwarsinske7064 that’s a very good, well constructed comment.
      I’m fortunate to have owned many bikes. Although I have bigger bikes, I do find the middle weight class the sweet spot for everyday road riding in the UK.
      I have owned the original KTM790Duke (for a year) and covered 35000+ miles on my MT07. I have also spent just over two hours on the GSX8S and then chose the Hornet 750 for my current everyday commuter. I don’t think there is a bad bike amongst the 4 bikes. The Suzuki feels the more solid bike. However, regardless of the reviews I’ve seen, I felt it lacked a little in performance and agility. The Hornet feels lighter, critics have labelled it flighty, I’d say more exciting. The original 790 Duke, in my opinion was a tad better than the Japanese bikes in nearly every department other than, reliability. It has some niggles that slightly spoiled the ownership experience. It may be forgiven for how good it was. I can’t comment on the new china built 790 and it doesn’t come standard with all the electronic gadgets like the original did.
      Overall, and it just my opinion, I made the right choice with the Hornet. It’s almost as much fun and flickable as the KTM and improvement on the MT07 and is quicker, lighter and more fun than the good GSX8. The Hornet’s engine is a little peach and the optional quick shifter is as smooth as on some much more expensive bikes.

      180 rear tyre compared to 160 on hornet, aluminium swing arm, quick shifter is standard and better and more exciting to looks negate the 1000 dollar price bump. This things also significantly affect how the bike feels and handles.
