This would be a much better advert for the forces than the actual adverts

Im a former serviceman and have lived in Gib as a lad and I can honestly say, if you want a place to practice scrapping with morrocan carpet sellers, spaniard fishing vessels and monkeys, Gibs your place.
I can't wait to see if I have what it takes. Getting my application moving before new year.
I’m applying in a couple of weeks too mate... how prepared do you feel?
@@zacbell03 sick man, I'm very far from where I want to be but it's mostly just the running I need to work on. I'm in my last year of studying also so It'll be late summer earliest. How are you cracking on?
If you want that Green lid enough, you will get it. People might think it just a saying, but it really is your mind set. I won't wish you luck, as luck has nothing to do with it, but give it your all and you will sail through.
Good luck
@@BigSauce_ I’m feeling decent. I’m in second year of A levels so can’t start until they are over. I can finally max out my pull-ups and sit-ups. My press-ups are only 40 though. I just want my mile and half to get below 9 mins...
Gibraltar, well known as the Rock
I’ve never felt a calling this strong before, that’s what I’m putting my application through, I cannot wait to begin my journey one day!
cheers dits
It’s the tone of the voice & the music being used to drive that effect.
If you listen on mute, verify if you still have that same inkling still.
But all the same, do you!
Decs did you do it?
Did you get into the Royal Marines? Did it work?
❤
Makes me wish I was 40 years younger and still playing with the lads 😅
Me too, my wife said I'm an indoor commando now, I think she's being polite in telling me I'm know longer up to it, ha!
Respect from the USA 🇺🇸.
My brother got his green lid yesterday, really proud of him

The British Marines, American Marines, South Korean Marines and the French Marine are the best of the best, truly.
1:18. The first time I've ever seen a left handed UK soldier actually using his rifle with his left hand in the trigger guard.
That's because 43 Cdo use the C8 not the SA80 and it has a deflector on the ejection port which allows for left handed firing.
It’s been a wile but I remember going into the tunnels in the rock that the MoD uses fir training. I was in the air cadets and we got to go in the restricted tunnels that the MoD uses for training, pretty cool.
Was this when you had the high ground, General Kenobi?
@@Lowdo1549 yes for sure! It’s where i trained to have the high ground for when I needed it for such an occasion...

HOOOOOOOFING!
Wen I was 16 I applied for the army the Royal artillery I choose as I did so bad on the barb test I'd never even heard of the marines back then but if I had my life would of been so different what a life these guys must live knowing your part of one of the best forces in the world👍🏻💪🏻
If you're a Gunner you can go 29 Commando
Well done 👍 lads, I hope that you don’t have to take Gibraltar 🇬🇮 back in real life. It’s great to know that you have trained for it just in case. God Bless Merry Christmas and a happy New year

Nice to see they have ditched the SA80.
They haven’t they just use it for CQC. Plus what’s bad about the SA80?
@@B38462Its only right handed use, C8 is ambidextrous
Today out ok
Spain is nice! No need to scare 🇪🇸.
Okay okay okay 👍
Is there anyway of getting in if I’ve taken meds for ADHD in the past 3 years?
no you need to be clean of them for 2 years first. i got my applicatiuon canceled for the same reason
It's a bit more involved than that.
Being clear of Meds for 2yrs is the benchmark for an Application being reviewed.
Assuming the candidate has no history of criminal violence they would then face a medical review on a case by case basis.
Colt Canada carbines?
Probably. The C8 I believe.
Were are a L85?
Still used by the majority of the armed force but RM now fazing the colt c8 or c7 correct me if I’m wrong
@@2v656 correct, however it will take many years for all Units to switch to the C8, new plate carriers, etc.

Seeing British forces with this rifles is amazing, definitely should ditch the l85 for an Armalite platform, like the C8 or HK416
The l85 isnt bad though, the A3 is just as good as a c8 or hk
C8 would be good, I wouldn't say that we would be better off with the HK due to its weight
42 Commando make great sandwiches onboard.
What weapon is that?
Diemaco C8, A colt variant I think. New kit looks good.
@walt fleece the SAS and SBS have recently started using the hk416
Thanks all, I personally cant see any difference between the M4A1, C8 and KK416. Ive only ever used the L85A2 and never had any issues but would welcome any of those lighter carbines
Just waiting for the Roppers
It's just ROP.

So Royal Marines have switched to M4s now? Since when?
C8's mate, just 43 and a couple others have them at the moment
@@GG-qz6jb tbh the only reason 43 has them is because they mainly do CQB operations and the shorter barrel and other reasons are a big help in that field.
@@GG-qz6jb I believe the RAF Regiment uses them too. Im not 100% sure on what it the rifle is specifically but I’ve seen RAF personal use “m4” like rifles
@@fazsum41 I've seen them use the sharpshooter but I've never seen any of them with a c8 or similar. I'd be very surprised if the raf reg of all people got them hahah
Thanks. First time I've seen this with non-SOF British units. I bet these guys just love going back to the SA-80 after leaving Gibraltar.
Do all British SF use the AR15 platform? Is the SA80 really that bad?
RMs are not SF
The Royal Marines switched to the C8 because it’s more suited to their role than the SA80. It wasn’t because the SA80 is a bad rifle, because it isn’t.
The A1 was a bad rifle, the A2 and A3 variants are so much better.
Thats what everyone says but if im not mistaken sas and pathfinders use ar15s too aswell as whatever suits them for the job their doing. The SA80 doesn't seem to be a favorite anywhere.
@@matthewhammond859 its a good standard rifle, and the stigma of it being bad are very old. It's definitely definitely up to par now, but the C8 is better -suited- for their specialized tasks vs general purpose
Title should read ON EXERCISE with..... . Unless there is a war in Gibraltar that we have not been told about ;)
yea because we can go to war with ourselves
?
@@Tea_and_Cake well Spain wants Gibraltar but can’t take it because of NATO
Why no SA 80’s?
Americans or in this case Canidstans make aluminium boom sticks so are lighter, can be fired left handed and have an adjustable length of pull all what's lacking on the current issue rife. If you have to monkey up some stuff, pew pew wearing plate bags and fight in someone's house a yank style SBR makes a lot on sense. Although front line troops have stopped using the SA80 and changed over to the one HK finger banged awhile ago.
The Royal Marines are switching over to the C8 as they are more suitable for their type of warfare than the L85A2/A3 were. While the L85A2 and A3 are great weapons they are bulky, heavy and not suitable for left-handers, the C8 is lighter, more compact and much more ergonomic and thus suited the Royal Marines more. The British Army fight a different type of warfare and thus the L85 works fine for them.
i seen BFAs, how is this combat?
Good luck Spain if you ever wanted to fight for the place 😂😂😂
They look like US Army troops now

Why are the British using American rifles
Canadian
Canadian rifle
“The Canadian Government obtained a licensing agreement from American gun manufacturer Colt to begin production for the Canadian Forces and Colt provided the Canadian Government with their proprietary Technical Data Package (TDP) for the rifle. This contains all the drawings, specifications and production methods required to produce the rifles.”
Seems pretty American to me..
