These guys were a lot of fun! I had two of their cd's back in the day when I was living in Seattle. The video for this song is pretty entertaining too. Thanks for sharing it, Maddy!
I saw Roland live around 2004 at a very low key event after winning tickets on the radio, and it was an amazing night. Dude knows how to put on a show. Must be crazy for him to be a world phenomenon and then playing a local community centre. Either way, he's worth watching live.
There was a television series in the 90's called "Highlander" that cast singers from the 80's and 90's to play characters. No singing, just acting. It had the singer from Fine Young Cannibals as well as Joan Jett and others. Queen did the soundtrack for the series. It was great. Edited to list the singers who appeared on it: Joan Jett Roger Daltrey Roland Gift Sheena Easton Martin Kemp Vanity
I’ve never heard him talk but as a Brit I do know…they are a British group 😂 so already it will be pretty different! This one could be in your heard for a while now!
Happy Sunday! Today is my lazy day and starting it out with some coffee in my Lanai and listening to this very catchy tune. Great reaction, as always, Maddy. ❤🙏😊
0:57-Nor did I, sweetie.. On the promo video,The lead singer's big football player looking dude,Street struts up to the Mike looking tough, and busts out that voice. Then the guitarists jump to the beat in a bunny rabbit like way...stop every 4 bars..look around like nervous rabbits, then pick up the hop again the next 4 beats..they were pretty much just as quirky looking as they sound! Always a pleasure to watch ya enjoy a song so!
They recorded this at Prince’s paisley studio! So his influence was there! They said they were so in awe, they went into and touched prince guitars! Chiguy
This great track is so '80's and the brilliant Roland Gift on lead vocals, it doesn't get any better. Please react to 'Johnny Come Home' another one of their massive hits from back in the day. 🙋♂
Maddy! I think that drum sound is from striking the rim or the stick that's resting on the rim. FYC always good. PS: Laughing is better than crying. When I was a child I couldn't tell which one the wimming were doing. Plain ol grooving is good too.
Really like them- JK with the flavor! 😝nice request! No other music compares with this generation. I don’t see the Princely vibes though. He had a hand in The Time, Vanity, Sheila E, Sheena Easton, Apollonia 6 to name a few
Great request. "Maddy drives me crazy!" Anyone that sees this post will never hear this song again without that quote in their back of their head again.
aww....if you're gonna listen to Fine Young Cannibals, why not upgrade to the previous band of the musicians, the English Beat. I Confess would be fantastic.
Maddy swaying in her red dress: "she drives me crazy, and I can't help myself "😮
She knows it,lol.
The video for this song was in regular rotation on MTV back when they actually played music videos.
Oh gosh Maddy, you could not get in your car without hearing this song. Lol... thanks Maddy

Roland Gift had one of the more unique pop music voices. Johnny Come Home was their first & best hit.
I really think you'd enjoy another song by Fine Young Cannibals called " Johnny Come Home ". It's probably my favorite song from them.

My name is Xavier St cloud, there can be only one.
There can only be one
The only one I remember is Roger Daltrey.
You missed one. A singer that, ironically enough, Maddy mentioned in the video: Vanity.
@chrisdutton2975 thanks, updated. I remember liking her character too.

That singer is awesome, I loved his voice. He was in another important band before FYC.
They recorded this at Prince’s paisley studio! So his influence was there! They said they were so in awe, they went into and touched prince guitars! Chiguy
Lord, Maddy. You look like a movie star in this video. Hard to keep my mind on the music. I remember this on the radio. Love it
❤️
They had a really cool song on that album called “I’m Not The Man I Used To Be”
They played this video on Friday Night Videos back in 1989 ever week, forever.
Oh wow!
the song is a mooddd without a doubt tbh
Yesss
I know im young but this is my jam
Perfect theme song for me because Maddy you drive me crazy. You smile is the most gorgeous I've ever seen!
Haha 🩷
I recently finished the Highlander tv series and the singer Roland Gift played a regular mastermind villain on it. He crushed it ngl.
Maddy, please do ‘Johnny come home “from the same artist. It’s class 👍
I saw an interview Maddy, of the singer and he had a very deep talking voice.
This great track is so '80's and the brilliant Roland Gift on lead vocals, it doesn't get any better. Please react to 'Johnny Come Home' another one of their massive hits from back in the day. 🙋♂
This was fresh on the charts when I graduated high school.
Flashback time. The background singers remind me of songs from the 60s. There were a lot of synthesizers used back then.
“Good thing “is my fave. Used to great effect on the Tin men soundtrack.

Hi Maddy! I've always loved this song ! You should check out The official video too!
I gotta dedicate this song to you Maddie!
You drive me crazy with your curvy body, pretty face and curly hair 😍
It's giving Peter Griffin
Does anyone realize you can sing Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" to this song's background? Exact same chord changes.
Imagine hearing and seeing the video for this for the first time as a seven year-old.
This was a huge hit in days gone by.
one of muh favorite groups. fun song to react to
I remember buying this album like it was yesetrday - so beautiful.
The albums not bad either.
❤️
Great request. "Maddy drives me crazy!" Anyone that sees this post will never hear this song again without that quote in their back of their head again.
❤️
Listen to the cover of the Sound of Silence by the kead singer of the band Disturbed.
next react is "I'm not the man I used to be". 👌👍
Dude looks like Mike Tyson, so maybe his regular speaking voice is like Mikes.
The song was written by David Steele and Roland Gift, the lead singer and another member of the group. Nothing to do with Prince that I know of...
Wow ,you were right about prince ..I looked it up
😆
@@MaddyReactions dang ,your good
Johnny come home and Ever fallen In love are two of their better songs.
The singer (sorry can’t remember his name) was a professional soccer player I think lol.
roland gift
Loved your reaction! Wacky way of singing, but it was an '80s hit, so they did something right! More cowbell?😂
Good one
Interesting song..
ANY WAYZ 👍✌️💜
The official video is quirky (like the vocals) and kinda funny. Give it a look when you get the chance.
❤️
It's about a moped that someone stoled can't Make it up
good one
Too bad it's not the official video clip.. that's fun too.
I remember them, but know nothing about them. Sad, still dont.
If you actually read these comments, please react to
Johnny come home, the official video by FYC
Maddy ❤❤❤❤❤
I absolutely hated this song when it came out... and it was everywhere. It drove me crazy. 🥴
They are English so I am unsure of the Prince thoughts. To me this is another album you can listen to end to end.
🕺

Hi Maddy. Please play Crazy Over You by Colin James
Awesome reaction love!
Darealdeal
The video is fun and quirky
😂😂👍
It was probably some bs electric drum.
aww....if you're gonna listen to Fine Young Cannibals, why not upgrade to the previous band of the musicians, the English Beat. I Confess would be fantastic.
Yesss

Prince had nothing to do with this group
Apparently he did! Lol
Are you insane... Of course he doesn't sound like that talking.... unless he puts a lot of effort into it.
It’s a joke 🤣 🤦🏽♀️
Another song about Sinead O'Connor 😂❤😂
