    I've literally seen all interviews since the start of healthy gamer and this one was the toughest to watch. I had to take multiple breaks because I kept getting overwhelmed - it felt like watching myself go on stream. The most interesting experience was at 1:27:04 where I was completely focused on Dr. K's face and burst out crying after what he said and then 10 seconds later I noticed she had as well. There's something so heartbreaking about your ego hijacking your intellect to protect you but instead leading you to more and more pain. Thank you to both.

    As a person that has consumed a lot of Dr K content this year, I really appreciate this episode with Mira. Very much relatable questions and situations. I learned that I should not constantly strive for an even more perfect and happy version of my self, but try to find happiness in my current self. I have this problem where I am working toward some future where I am happy, but I need to "check the boxes" to get to that point, much like Mira. I need to try to find and notice happiness in the present.
    It frustrates me that so many hit the dislike button. Why?

      It's mostly just because she's Mitch's ex and there was an extremely negative picture painted of her after their breakup. I don't personally care about her in a negative or positive way, I just kinda know how people perceive her because of this.

      What has always helped me is to find happiness in all the little things in life. Sometimes people think that being happy is about having the perfect life and being the perfect person, but that causes them to look at all the negative things in their life that is robbing them from that goal because no one is perfect. When you look at all the little things that make you happy or appreciative, it shifts your focus to the positive things in your life. Fun story, when I was a kid my mom used to always tell me that she would find happiness in falling leaves and other little things like that. When I was in college, I was walking to class one day and saw leaves falling from a bunch of trees. I only stopped for a few seconds to admire the beauty of falling leaves and the gentle breeze, but I was... happy and at peace, even with all the college stresses and whatnot. And the more I noticed those situations as life continued, I realized that all the little things that I do or experience every day makes me happy like those falling leaves. And that is the me NOW. And it gave me comfort to know that the me in the future, no matter what he's going through, will still have the little things in life to keep me happy.

      @@RadiantStorm666 that reminds me of how only 1 week or so after my friend perpetrated a murder-suicide and i was deep in the throws of deep grief and trauma response, i walked into my work building and saw all the Christmas decorations had been put up, and I noticed myself feeling a moment of joy and happiness at the fun and the prettiness of it, and I was surprised in my deep sadness and hurt how i could still feel such positive emotion over such little things too. It almost felt like those things worked to bring me way more happiness when I'm starting from such a low place than they normally would've, and i felt grateful and glad i could still feel happiness over little things. I felt hopeful maybe for myself despite the psychological wound in me not being healed yet.

    I'm just gonna copy paste a comment I responded to someone with. I think a lot of people here are getting confused what the essence of HealthyGamer is, but I'm just gonna give my take on it
    "I think you're coming in with the wrong presumpton with a lot of these videos. These streams aren't meant to be dedicated to "helping all video gamers' and their problems", its about trying to understand other people's problems and how problems from the past can form adaptive/maladaptive behaviours that affect others years down the line. I feel like its more of an education to understand all types of people, and better appreciate what the human mind can do, both good and bad.
    I sense (only viewing from your comment alone), a whole lot of frustration about your problems, and I almost feel as though the streams that you've been watching, and the "help" that you're seeking by watching these videos will somehow create a 'light bulb / eureka' moment, and that's usually not gonna entirely solve your case. As stated from his streams, Knowledge surrounding your problems is step 1, self-realization is step 2, step 3 is from you, that's implementing action. Dr. K can only go so far to help viewers identify and self-actualize, but it comes down to you to do something about it. I believe he hopes that the self-actualization will give enough motivation or an understanding about themselves that they can actually grapple with so that they can go and seek relevant, necessary help (whether that may be seeking an actual therapist/psychologist, or implementing interventions via meditation+introspection; then again thats what I believe what the AoE healing ultimately aims for)"

      Shit I think this is probably a pretty good analysis of why half the community gets so mad at certain interviews. I also don't think it's a coincidence that every interview they hate happens to be with a woman, but I bet it's a combination of that and them expecting a video to solve their problems but they don't feel that way when it's someone they can't perfectly relate to.

    • @NeonKodiak
      @NeonKodiak 4 года назад +21

      @@NageekNoohac YES, the moment its someone they already have preconceived notions of and they can't completely relate to they go against the problems the interviewee's present, instead they try to poke holes at ideas, assume the worst and minimize the issues they're dealing with.
      I mean almost all of the issues people deal with in these interviews are small in the grand scheme of things, but for those going through it its tough to deal with and they might need guidance to look at things a different way.

Read in to it abit, these kind of comments was placed furthest up and it wasn't one of them. Read into it regarding her mentalstate and what the context is about. These things insinuates things for someone trying to be vulnerable and open up. So yes people aren't respecting that her opening up, if they can't accept that she might not be able to, or is emotionally ready to do so. As most streamer has a problem with just the commentfeilds and it was part of her issues. Disregarding this and joining a bandwagon of seconrate jokes thats been spammed in the commentfeilds? Emotional scars takes time to heal and courage to display, ofc we can joke about it but when it's the same shit its kinda stale and normally people tries to state a point across when they jump a bandwagon.

    I don't think she was actively trying to deflect, I think she was genuinely trying to absorb as much info as she could from Dr.K and asking questions was the best way to do that. That is probably because compared to him (in her point of view) her opinion about life and overall worth as a human being is worlds apart from each other. Every stream Dr. K seems to have life figured it out and she's not

    • @nyeusiknowledge4873
      @nyeusiknowledge4873 4 года назад +3

      On and off she was deflecting and also doing in other times what you're saying, trying to gather information. She thought there was some type of recipe and was left empty and flabbergasted when he did not have such and NOT only that, said there isn't such. She came as you said looking to someone who she thought had accomplished complete success/ figured out that recipe and was left with nothing. She wanted a gratifying answer and fulfillment and did not receive that the way she thought she would but instead in a different way which requires her letting go of that whip. Didn't you mention she's at the point where she Google's about her relationship...

    • @bingbong2179
      @bingbong2179 4 года назад

      I agree in that I don't think she was 'active' in deflection but at the same time I disagree. She was certainly deflecting in all other ways if not actively, I think this was one of those cases where the psychologist wouldn't take their own medicine if you know what I mean. In her mind, she probably saw herself as different to the other people who come on and have to cry and do this and that to make progress. She was like "hang on a sec why not skip to the finish line and ask him for all the answers", this is obviously flawed as the finish line is the journey itself. It was definitely frustrating to watch and I could totally see Dr K feeling the same way throughout trying to coax something, anything out of Mira. Hopefully, she can feel more comfortable and ready in future. One last thing, I remember Dr K. saying to "meet yourself where you are" and I think that's highly applicable to her situation. She sees herself as ahead of where she actually is in some regards and needs to take a jump back. That's just my opinion tho as a backseat therapist

    Why do things badly? One reason is it gives us awareness in more areas. It gives us more tools to deal with a problem. There is the quantity of tools one has vs. the skill or quality of using a tool, or even of the quality and ability of the tool itself. The issue is finding the balance between optimizing existing variables or tools vs. discovering new variables or tools one can play with.
    For doing something badly, we can come across unexpected results which widens our perspective. In doing something bad, we are forced into a new situation and problem(s), leading us to likely search in different areas. This can then lead to a new tool.

    Thanks for this video Dr. K and Mira, this was among the most directly-relatable conversations I have seen about the subject of purpose and pleasure. As a schizoid + INFJ I recognize many of the issues and cognitive processes that Mira spoke of and displayed, and it really helped me to connect with your train of thought by identifying with hers. I don't Twitch or use social media in general, so I know nothing of Mira's story beyond what she revealed here and a few shitposts in the comments, but I would genuinely like to have heard more of her perspective on her social media controversies and the points of view they revolve around- we only learn something new about a topic if we dare to look at it from a different angle or wider view, but that too often is perceived as a threat to cherished misconceptions and leads to the messenger being shot down by the very people who might have benefitted if they had only been willing to hear and consider different ideas- I've experienced that kind of alienation and futility my entire life in various forms, and I can empathize with Mira's lack of enthusiasm for discussing it and for her need to protect her privacy and that of others for whatever her reasons are. I also recognize her reticence and difficulty with feelings as likely a result of early and possibly chronic attachment issues due to emotionally neglectful, demanding, and controlling caretakers who didn't validate her as a person, much like my own history. Her description of her visual imagery during the meditation also stood out as a common characteristic, and I hope she learns to follow and interpret the symbolism and the concepts and feelings behind them- the symbolism of a bolt plugging the third eye and reaching through the hole where it was removed is powerful and significant language.
    This was a beautiful interview and Mira is a beautiful person with a fascinating mind, and I hope she was helped as much by this as I was. Thanks again Dr. K, you're crushin' it on many levels.

      Note to my self: - start do imperfect decisions (no matter what, I will never be perfect)
      - life goals change. Do what feels right in the moment. My bachelors is what feels good right now, but it may not be what "I will do in life"
      - learn to tolerate bordom: exercise: stare at a wall for one hour doing nothing (not even meditating)
      - Inside myself there's a me with a whip, constantley telling me what I need to do: you need to study, you need to make your family happy finally, you need to achieve something special, you need to prove them wrong

    Mira is honestly one of the most intelligent people I've seen on Dr. K's stream w.r.t. the logical ideas that come across in a conversation. I can really empathize with her problem of wanting to someone to tell her the answer: this is almost always the easiest path to take. She is clearly extremely practiced in this, and the frightening part is that she's able to direct the conversation subtly. I think a lot of the way she talks to people is just something that's conditioned in her head and is a defence mechanism, a way of keeping her comfortable. Even in her own mind it seems like she takes everything very logically, which ends up in a deflective conversation because, even to herself, she's never wrestled with any of the trauma of her past beyond looking at it objectively.

      I see where you're coming from, but this is exactly what makes this video so interesting to me because a lot of the things they talk about give us insight into exactly this. Being genuine is not as easy as it sounds for everybody and for good reason. If you keep in mind that this is a person who seems to be used to keeping face, keeping up expectations and keeping up appearance at all times and probably since forever (for her parents, for her peers, for her audience, etc.) then it's not surprising that she could have trouble appearing genuine... but that doesn't mean that's not "her".

      @@ksng767 True that is def part of it, and I can relate, so maybe that's why I feel as there is a part missing, because I know what it's like so this ain't the full story. The thing is though, and this is hard to explain, she is asking questions to redirect the attention away from her and create a distance, also the questions she asks, aren't really questions, because she knows the answers, she;s asking them for a diff reason. My reason would have been to make the psychiatrist feel good about himself by engaging with him. But Dr. K also felt this, and this is not something u can fix within 1 session. The world needs to first change to allow me to change.
    People might think I’m just being delusional but I’m likely not. Most of my issues in life are caused by being too aware of the issues with others are thus having to dumb down to their level/ energies to deal with them. As much as I want to unlimited myself, people cannot handle it. and so my whole life since young was never to grow but to be bottlenecked by an incompetent society in essence.
    I mean I don’t think I’m perfect but it seems like most people are way below the mark for even being a normal human being to begin with. and if people don’t want to change, society cannot progress. No man is an island and so we can never progress if they are people not wanting to change. We would be bottlenecked by them ultimately.

I can even be like them and even better and want to be like them but then when I do it, people hate on me for it. and so, I feel like it likely is a karmic thing and it’s not that I’m lousy. So sure there's plenty of mistreatment, but no he brung most of that s*** on which depending on your level of mental capacity either he's done nothing wrong or you downplay everything because you're such a die-hard fan which I wouldn't be surprised doing Jordan Peterson memes, or you can see that stuff which I don't think is the case😂😂 notice Jordan Peterson never says anything he f****** says and have some way to backpedal or lead you to the conclusion that just falls on being a racist sexist transphobe idiot etc etc. And yes I have proof of all of that but again you don't care for such I'm guessing and play mental gymnastics but if somebody was on the opposing side of whatever your ideology is, I guarantee you would not let them off the hook. She also seems have a high archiver mindset which would come with alot of analysis of how to do the given task better. I've been struggling and holding myself in place for the last two to three years doing mainly the first point I've made. To be honest it's been a terrible experience so much indecision in my day to day life is this right should I do this should I do that. It's maddening.

    I thought this was a really good conversation, even if somewhat nontraditional. Don't get all the dislikes.

      Girl being interviewed. Most importantly a pretty girl, the audience comes in with preconceived notions that pretty girls don't have issues, or issues that she does talk about the audience doesn't think its a big deal bc at the end of the day she's a pretty girl on twitch and can get away with things.
      So many in the comments won't even give it a chance, saying I can't get through it, she's disingenuous, i can't trust her, etc etc. I mean so many guys in previous interviews were incredibly disingenuous and closed off and through the interview they slowly share more and more and it becomes a more productive talk.

      @@NeonKodiak This doesn't really have much to do with Mira being a girl, but rather her history on the internet. Her attractiveness also plays little role in why people hate her, so it seems pretty silly to even bring that up, unless you're refering to the biggest of incels. Her, Byron and Mitch all have their haters for how much high-school drama they got into back in the day, and wherever Mira went, drama soon followed.
      Plenty of people within the twitch space warned Mitch that she's highly manipulative and pretty crazy, which lead to Mitch being even more of an asshole to his stream and his friends. In a lot of ways she's ruined a lot of friendships on twitch, so you can't really say that the hatred people feel towards her isn't alright.
      There's a reason why Reckful, Mitch and Mira all appeared on Dr K's stream, it's because their past relationships were that bad.

      @@NeonKodiak Seems like you're creating your own narrative here. She came to show not knowing what to talk about. You have to have an issue to discuss when you apply for a session. You can see her staring at herself on the screen and posing to appear as attractive as possible. She has a track record for disregarding and manipulating others for her own benefit.
      These should all be red flags regardless of the person, and they're rational reasons to feel uncomfortable with her and this conversation. Please chill with the, "It's because she's a beautiful!"

      @@calebcooksey4390 I don't know if you realise what you're saying, but you're pretty much the type of person he's speaking of. "You can see her staring at herself on the screen and posing to appear as attractive as possible" - eh, I did not think of that once? And it's natural for people to try and look good when they see themselves on camera, so why the hate towards her for it?

    Basically she dosent understand that everything is relative, that nothing is set in stone, that none of it has some kind of base.
    Everything is baseless we are just building meanings on other meanings and conecting stuff in some way, but it's all hanging in the air.
    And you may be thinking how does this help me? It should tell you that you are not meant to do anything, you are not suppose to be anything.
