  • I get this question a lot, but I don't have a trick to carve very small lines/detail. It's a matter of patience and practice. Having said that, it's usefuf to have some very small tools: I use a set of Flexcut Micro tools and a very small Pfeil tool (L11/0.5) which are perfect for carving small detail. When carving straight lines, I use a ruler (if I want them to be super precise)

When I purchased this very set of gouges, I grinned when I opened it up and saw the included band aids, 5 mins later I needed to use one, so yep, they come sharp as a razor

Love my flexcut gouges. Mostly carve wood but they're fantastic tools especially for the price.
