This looks really nice, it is in the price range of the kbd 8x mkiii. I cant decide which one to get, can you compare the key differences between them please?
@@ZOFGK-xtl Oh that's right, I forgot since I prefer solder boards. That's also a very big difference - 1.2mm PCBs have a much larger sound difference than you might originally expect.
Actually, the Neo80 can only provide a comfortable sound with specific switches, so you might need to be patient to try and find the right ones. If you still cannot make your Neo80 the end-game 80% keyboard, I recommend buying a Cycle8 for comparison.
I wrote more about that in my written review, but honestly there are close in a lot of regardless. I would probably still go with the Neo myself to save some money but if the design of the cycle speaks to you, you wont be disappointed.
@@Draw3524 the whole point of the quick release is for people to tinker with their keyboards more easily, ribbon cable is very fragile that could be damaged easily. i mean i cant imagine it wouldve costed them that much money to add a magnetic connector.
I honestly don't mind it...I mean of course magnetic one is easy to deal with, but I've been build and rebuild with ribbon cables for the past years and I don't think I'm bothered with it, and never broke it too, even if it broke, ribbon cables is so easy to find online and hella cheap. I think many ppl just too lazy sometimes, building keyboard is kinda the art in this hobby, and don't tell me the quicker 5-10 seconds to build would change anything. @@bosenngantor9160 that’s all valid points u make, but for a similar price why not just get the NEO80? that does come with the magnetic connector and the quick release?
Those silicone corners were already used in the Cycle7 by the way! Same for all those rubber beans on the bottom case.
Yeah I realized that after! I couldnt remember what the cycle7 had in it, but i appreciate them porting it over from the 7.
Bought one in Purple with all the brass weights! Can't wait to get it
this man has a dream job
So this was the aloe color, correct?
Can’t wait to receive mine!
Got mine in aloe.
The other colors are super sharp!
Peacock is the crowd favorite I am sure.
how is this compared to the QK80?
ID on that desk mat? Love it!!
I was planning on peacock but now I'm really tempted to go aloe

I didn't buy the cycle 7 I bought the Pluto with brass bottom and for me it sounds great and it doesn't look boxy compare to the C7.
For your tastes would choose this or the Neo80 as far as sound and looks?
I have the same dilemma, but will choose the Neo 80 as the safest bet ( less likely to have any problems with the finish or the PCB )
It would be so nice for someone to test the Rakka HE PCB, as much as I bought mine for playing I would love this to sound at least as good as BOOG75.
where did you get your custom cable?
How good c8 (with and without ss/brass internal cover and weights) is in comparison with TB8 and neo80, sir?
What keycaps are those with the orange enter and esc?
They look sweet.
GMK Retro Zhuyin with accents from ePBT Vermillion on Oil
What's the keycap at the beginning of the video? The glyph design of the Bopomofo looks sooooooooo good😍.
Is the PCB 1.6mm or 1.2mm?
1.6
anyone knows what cable is that?
Ordinary Labs
anybody knows what deskmat he uses, i need very big deskmat like this
Ordinary labs
It looks like a standard sized deskmat you can find tons of designs of on any keyboard vendors site
Shoulda used baby kangaroo to match the minty color
would be perfect if they made f13 and used the old lightbar of cycle7 instead of this weird light bar

The KBD 8X MKIII is in stock, this is a group buy planned to ship in November. That’s the biggest difference.
@@sans5955 thanks for the reply, i'm not too worried about the group buy, but im jsut wondering about the sound and features
all the PCB of Cycle8 is 1.6mm, while KBD only solder PCB is 1.6, hotswap is 1.2

@@sans5955 yeah, but i think 1.2 PCB is larger sound if the barebone case is good enough, if not, it sounds muted
guys.. is it ok to put 4 layers tape on my pcb? (wired keyboard)
Why bother, it sounds good with just case foam
@@sonofliberty3347 he doesn't even said what his keyboard is
Lol
it doesnt have any foam below pcb
pretty hollow inside
TKD lacking on them review payments huh?
No GBs for this one right now... Sad.
You seem a bit underwhelmed. I like the design much more compared to the Cycle7 for sure.
I was! I put that in my written review too that I was rather underwhelmed.
Cycle8 or neo80?
Hey Alex, loved the review! How does this stack against the Neo 80? I'm torn if I should pick this up if I already have a Neo 80 and Cycle 7...

its just bad, it has so many flaws, i sold it after 3 days

Already own a Sonnet, no need for another 80%, but looks nice. Somewhat expensive for what it is.
