I got one of these on Craigslist for $1000. I am really happy with it.

I found the low end to be great. But the upper response and punch was lacking

There are way better solutions and cheaper ones Out there.
    UM18-22 in 150l sealed powerd with a bridged NX3000D.
The SvS ist nice but overpriced twice.

You are a good presenter, but is all that vocal fry deliberate?

That would be a HUGE NO, JTR makes the best subs hands down. The PB16 has a 16 woofer gets down to 15 hertz cost $2899. The JTR Captivator gets down to 10 hertz with way more output cost $3299. The PB 16 is Mid level at best. Good video though. Rhytmik also has a 18 inch sub that puts the PB 16 to shame cost a thousand dollar less.
