I'm from Edinburgh and watched a couple of your Scotland videos and just wanted to say thank you for how well you have captured Scotland, absolutely love that you've enjoyed yourself so much! only thing I would've recommended was to try and fit in GoApe as an activity if you are ever back in Aviemore, such a fun day out and incredible views! thanks again you guys are great
I'm from Scotland and hope you enjoyed your visit. Anstruther has the best fish n chips in Scotland and Irn-Bru is the best selling soft drink in Scotland. Scotland is the only country in the World that has a soft drink that out sells coca cola.
My Husband and I are lucky to travel abroad quite a bit now our children have grown up, he is originally from Edinburgh, his Grandparents emigrated to New Zealand and I’ve lived in Fife all my life but we are both loving seeing our home county of Fife through your eyes. There are so many amazing places to see in the world and it can be easy to forget the beauty to be found right on your doorstep! Thank you for reminding us just how fortunate we are to live in the Kingdom! Warm wishes to you both xx
Came across your videos by accident they caught my eye because you were in Scotland my home country.Seems like your enjoying Scotland and it's beauty.Peace Always x Andy
My Dad's family were from Pitenweem, my mother's family were from Anstruther, I live a short distance from the East Neuk, I have some great memories spending holidays in Anstruther, it truly is a special place, you have done it justice with vlog.
Stacey's Scottish pronunciation of Irn-Bru was beyond awesome. Seeing the Anstruther fish and chips makes me want to go back there again. The Irn-Bru advertisement slogan is "Scotland's other national drink". I am Scottish but I think that it is slimy sickly stuff. I really like your videos though. Thanks for making them.
Thank you so much for capturing what Fife is like and being so kind about the area and people. So many people come here and miss Fife out for the better known spots - the Highlands, Edinburgh Castle, Loch Lomond, etc. - but Fife is a really magical, historical place in its own right :) Loving your videos.
Couldn't agree more! We LOVED Fife. Funny now meeting Scottish people around the world since these vids and saying we went to Fife and they often look back like "huh, really?"... then we chat about how beautiful and underrated it is :)
I used to live in Aberdeen, Scotland and we would go to Fife several times a year. I went to the cocoa tree Cafe many times and I sat on the table on the right corner outside. We also went to the ansthruther fish bar a million times as well. I'm Scottish so I got to see lots of the beautiful country it is. Sadly we moved away and I miss it dearly. I hoped u enjoy my wee Fife!!
Love fish and chips, maybe that is what we should do... go around the world trying fish and chips lol Yes same here I grew up eating fish and chips, so it;s not new, but it is really cool to try it in different countries and taste similarities and differences. soooooo beautiful there!
Thank's both for coming to our awesome little "Kingdom" of Fife, and showing it off in such a splendid way to 😁🙌 Wanted to comment to say I loved Dane's point about stopping to appreciate the place you currently are, especially when you can get caught up in the moment thinking about the camera & the tasks that come with it! ... P.S - Hope you both enjoyed "The Bru" 😝
Anstruther fish bar is pretty good. But it's more of a tourist attraction. A lot of celebrities have visited there. Thank you for visiting my home county and being so generous, positive and open minded in your views. Much love to you and everyone who reads this. Have a great day.
Cheers Steve - appreciate your comment! Next time we'll try get the local scoop on the best chippy thats not so common, amazing flavours either way so we were happy
Another stunning video by two of my favorite people! You are so right that the people in Scotland are friendly and provide excellent service. I had an Irn Bru in May and really liked it. My buddies told me that the non-sweet version of it is even better. I tell so many people about your videos and the terrific experience it is to travel with you through your vlog. Well done!
We’ve only just heard about the changes to the sugar to avoid the taxes etc, but if a shame but amazing to taste either way. Thanks for sharing us with your friends, that all helps us chase down that 100k!
I had plan to go to Scotland in October and have put on hold, just as I made my mind up, these podcast appeared on my feed. I look forward to reading your book - thanks
I do believe that you spent the perfect day there! Chocolate cake and brownie for breakfast, perfect fish and chips, a distillery (which looked amazing - I must check out more about that) and then that top quality restaurant with the view to die for! Really enjoying your take on Scotland :) Oh and 7:24 LOL!!
I had a break from your videos and finally came back today, starting with this one... Fortunately with my breakfast :) Scotland is fantastic. Never been there, but my wife is in love with it. Especially the long hair cows :) This is genuinely the only place I could move to and live rest of my life. Cheers from Poland!
Glad you checked back in, seems common for our Polish friends to do the same once creators leave Poland. More glad you had breakfast with you already otherwise hunger pains were imminent 😂😂
Amazing to see the beautiful place we live from another's point of view as living here we dont appreciate it as much as we should! Glad use got the weather for the trip that was lucky! Hope use enjoyed scotland really is a stunning place when you get the weather to explore it
Fife is so beautiful isn't it! We didn't get to so many places right on the coast, but loved our time in Falkland (where some of Outlander was filmed). It's a lovely little town, worth checking out if you're close! Scotland is one of our favourite places, and we're planning a series of videos there next year. Just have to decide which location!
Scotland is filled with kiwi's and aussies I worked up and down the west coast of Scotland for many years and every pub, restaurant, tearoom all had at least one kiwi or aussie working in them most of the year round. And many of them came for a working holiday in Scotland as most of there families originally came from near they area they worked in
Can't believe how lucky you guys have been with weather. We did a 2 week Scottish road trip a couple of years back and it rained every. single. day. 😭 Still a beautiful country though! P.S. Love your videos, they're the perfect balance of information and aesthetic! 👌👏
I know, right?! We got SO lucky with the weather it’s actually crazy- makes filming so mxuch easier without rain tho so things aligned. Thanks for the lovely comments, glad you’re enjoying ❤️
I used to be in the Royal Air Force and in the mid 90's had a posting to RAF Leuchars, which wasn't far from Anstruther. They have poshed up that chip shop, but I remember going there on a Saturday evening with friends. There were 14 members of staff working and about 500 customers in the queue.

great video guys and scotland loves you back. Anstruther was my holiday home at the caravan park there in the 80s. The lighthouse that is at the end of the pier you filmed is where i spread my Dads ashes when he passed away , it was like a little message from him to say hi so thanks for that wee moment. ps your accent is pretty spot on and im glad you felt the warmth of the scottish people, we are the worlds favourite people hahahaha
@@DanegerAndStacey i know.. Im on the other side of the bridge and its just as beautiful but not as pretty and calm as this particular spot it's beautiful glad you enjoyed your visit to Scotland
Ideal day. Sun out, sitting by the harbour in Anstruther with a great fish supper and cold can of irn bru. Incidentally, I think Scotland is the only country in the world where Coca-Cola isn't the No 1 selling soft drink. It's known as Scotland's second national drink/beverage.
Anstruther, locally pronounced Ainster, is a village in two parts, Ainster Easter and Ainster Wester, separated by the Dreel Burn. Irn Bru is the biggest selling soft drink in Scotland, easily outselling Coke. Coca Cola have thus tried to purchase Barrs to be able to own Irn Bru, but have had no success. The Wee Chippy has a better reputation among locals. I was there with my Uncle when I visited in early September. I had the smoked haddock supper, he had the scallops, my aunt the fresh haddock (she's also kiwi and I live in NZ, although was born at St Andrews). She still had difficulty with ordering a fish supper instead of ordering fish, maybe a crab stick, and a half or whole scoop of chips. She's been there 2 years.
@@DanegerAndStacey feel free to come back to Fife and remember to bring that glorious sunshine with you, also you'd be more than welcome,to come sample my wife's cooking and our hospitality, that's if you could handle our 5 grand children, running around asking you lots of questions about your home country lol,we live roughly 15 minutes drive away from Culross, also i don't know if you found out anything, regarding the small islands around Culross in the firth of forth estuary, apparently a small island off the coast of Culross,at one time had a leper colony on it (sorry for the subject matter),Culross has a lot of amazing interesting history and imo it's one of the most beautiful old villages in Scotland, that pub you were in,serves good fish and chips

Ahhh the eternal problem 😔 GH5 still sucks for auto - all our talking scenes are manual focus (unless I whip it around, I sometimes just roll the dice for the candidness of it). B roll is generally auto tho
Hi, loved the video and you guys are great. Scotland is the only place in the world where cola is not the number one best selling soft drink. It's irn bru
@@scott3126 You right ;) Of course you can have nice weather here in Scotland . Every time is nice and you off from work you just need to go outdoor and enjoy it . Because You never know when it's going to change. I moved to Scotland 7 years ago . How did You know I'm Polish ? Lol My surname for sure ;)
well that also depends on which part of Scotland you live?? South West of Scotland is on the Gulf Stream, so generally will get less rain.......look especially in winter, places like Aviemore and other places in the North were like -15, was -5 in the South West!! I hate when people class the whole of Scotland as being the same, you can travel 5/10 miles and the weather can be so different. Yeah your surname kind of gave it away 😂
Anstruther pronounced locally as anster or enster (a proper Fifer will call it the either of the later two). this whole area anstruther and surrounding area is called the east neuk (pronounced nuke). should of went down to Elie beach while the weather was good to see if you could find yourselves some Elie ruby. it’s better after a storm but they’re there if you scratch about in the sand for the little red gemstones. if you’re still in the area and stuck for something to do, look it up. 😁 have a little reminder of us here in Fife to take back home with you. there’s a lovely little place close to anstruther you missed. it’s a farm with a shop and cafe. it specialises in cheeses. local scottish and uk wide cheese. i never miss going there and i stay in the leven area. they also do a load of pickles etc. well worth the visit (as long as you don’t mind the farm smells 😂) i’m personally not that big a fan of anstruther chippy, the awards were bought and their news clippings of when prince charles and camilla visited are bullshit. they’d like you to believe the royals are from the shop, lol they never, no royal eats anything from anyone for safety reasons. (he’s next in line to the throne, he wouldn’t be allowed to basically). you should of done the costal path. it’ll take you through a lot of the villages and towns around the Fife coast. on a nice day there’s seals and plenty of sea birds to spot. sometimes you might be lucky and catch a glimps of the dolphin pod that lives around the coast. they come close in and play as they’re passing.
Oh cool! You managed to get the only sunny day we've had in like 5 years. You got lucky! :P Hope you visited the RRS Discovery whilst you were in the area and got yourself an Arbroath smokey!
Hahaha! So people weren't exaggerating when they told us we wer elucky with the weather! Eek we didnt, looks like we're going to have to come back (and bring the sunshine with us!)
@@DanegerAndStacey We have good years and bad years but sometimes there's few sunny days, perhaps I was being a little hyperbolic lol Yeah defo come back to visit! Next time come to the Highlands too and visit places like Dun Robin Castle, the Ruthven barracks, Rose Isle beach near Nairn or the old WWII embattlements near Cromarty and Nigg (that in itself is an experience as that's where the oil rigs go to get repaired and restocked). Too much to mention :)
I’ve lived in Fife all my life and only ever been to Anstruther once. I really need branch out more and explore the kingdom. You guys should take in the vast golden beaches at Elie just a little south from Anstruther, you won’t disappointed. Great videos guys 👍🏴👍

How cool, thanks for coming over Janne! Lots of amazing things to share from Albania, it’s dreamy ❤️
Chocolate for breakfast is the best! That means you are going to have a great day :)
Agreed. It’s science 😂
Daneger and Stacey 😂😂🤣🤣
Great place
Ideal day. Sun out, sitting by the harbour in Anstruther with a great fish supper and cold can of irn bru. Incidentally, I think Scotland is the only country in the world where Coca-Cola isn't the No 1 selling soft drink. It's known as Scotland's second national drink/beverage.
Since this video we’ve learnt such crazy interesting facts about the Bru, should have researched more before trying it!
not been for a chippy there for a while..even tom hanks was there.
Must be good then 😂 to be fair, it was!
"Fush & Chups" love it : ))))
Haha thanks Carolyn
I used to holiday here as a wee yin back in the day. East Neuk of Fife is amazing
That sounds awesome! Such a great spot!
Cool video. I'm a Scotsman who finds himself living in London these days, and I miss being in back home.
Hope you're enjoying London life! We absolutely love Scotland - it has a special place in our hearts.
It’s weird seeing a place that I’m so familiar with, being in a vlog
Hope it was the good kinda weird
Don't know how I came across this , but you're making my country look beautiful, than you from a Glasgow man
Glad you found us, loved Scotland and shared a bunch of videos - beautiful place
Nice to see other bits of our country than the likes of Edinburgh and Glencoe repped on RUclips.
Thanks Callum
Guys, making me proper homesick!! haha
We’ll take that as a compliment 😂😂
@@DanegerAndStacey Most definitely is ;-) Great video.
Looking good guys,lol irnbru.
Gotta try it!
you were lucky with the weather,it's not usually sunny here in Fife,it's beautiful when the sun comes out
We seem to bring the sunshine with us!
Ah Irn Bru fish and chips by the seaside this is the dream. We should be allowed out again soon
The ultimate Scottish combo! Got our fingers crossed you get some more freedom soon!
you two are lovely people , haste ye back
Thanks Nicola!
I'm heading to Scotland shortly and just found your vlog! If you have any more tips on places to see, let me know! Just got my cuppa tea and I'm about to dive into this video :D xx
Glasgow and Edinburgh are the best city breaks, but the West side of the country is the most spectacular for a fly/drive trip!
We've got some more videos to come from Edinburgh soon :)
@@DanegerAndStaceyBrilliant! Look forward to seeing that p.s. Scots fans will cheer for the KIWIS at the Rugby World .
@@DanegerAndStacey @gmaccruyff55
AMAZING!!! I won't be heading to Edinburgh unfortunately - I'll be heading straight to the highlands but if you have any tips on places to see up there, I'd absolutely LOVE to hear them!!
@@gmaccruyff55 AHAHHHAH!!! you seem pretty well versed on where to see in Scotland so if you have any tips, id love to hear from you! x
Love your vlogs, dude! Inspiring my girlfriend and I to start our own. But I have to ask what are you doing with the Gh5 your focus is so CRISP? I’ve got one too but my af is always so inconsistent. Cheers bro!
Cola and Pepsi are number 1 and 2. But the Bru is 3. I am so dissapointed as irn bru was amazing before the sugar tax.
Shame about the sugar tax!
Yum, my favorite over in the U.K.!😋😋
Delicious day!
How did You manage to get such a good weather? Wow lovely!
We got bloody lucky!
it does rain a lot in Scotland, but not all the bloody time FFS
does it snow in Poland all the time??
@@scott3126 You right ;)
Of course you can have nice weather here in Scotland . Every time is nice and you off from work you just need to go outdoor and enjoy it . Because You never know when it's going to change. I moved to Scotland 7 years ago .
How did You know I'm Polish ? Lol
My surname for sure ;)
well that also depends on which part of Scotland you live??
😁 have a little reminder of us here in Fife to take back home with you.
there’s a lovely little place close to anstruther you missed. it’s a farm with a shop and cafe. it specialises in cheeses. local scottish and uk wide cheese. i never miss going there and i stay in the leven area. they also do a load of pickles etc. well worth the visit (as long as you don’t mind the farm smells 😂)
i’m personally not that big a fan of anstruther chippy, the awards were bought and their news clippings of when prince charles and camilla visited are bullshit. they’d like you to believe the royals are from the shop, lol they never, no royal eats anything from anyone for safety reasons.
We gotta work on finding out more of those local pronunciations! We did go to Elie and had sunshine as well - ruclips.net/video/8C7a2cqotkI/видео.html
Ugh Chocolates 😍
The best breakfast 😂
Beautiful part of Scotland :)
Agreed! 👍🏼
I seen Dundee from the Newport hotel in your video you should have went over the bridge to visit the V&A museum
I’ve lived in Fife all my life and only ever been to Anstruther once. I really need branch out more and explore the kingdom. You guys should take in the vast golden beaches at Elie just a little south from Anstruther, you won’t disappointed. Great videos guys 👍🏴👍
Cheers Paul - looks like you found the Elie video just after this. Definitely take advantage of whats on your doorstep, it really is beautiful
You had a view of my home.city of dundee from the newport restaurant 😊
We actually took a little drive over there now that I think about it! Didn't film though, just exploring.
@@DanegerAndStacey waterfront is quite nice , loads of restaurants and V&A museum , cap. Scott ship discovery. Our city is going through big changes having lost a lot of jobs through industrial change. We are getting there though 😊
Just noticed the subtitles for the fish and chips say fush and chups hahaha
Sorry, I'm a child
Glad you noticed haha - thats how everyone hears it when we say it, so just owned the NZ-ness haaha
My home..
You were also near Dundee 😍
Near Dundee 😅 that would put them off Scotland lol
I was only a couple of minutes into the video listening to your accents and I asked myself: are they from New Zealand? Then I got my answer some time later hehe. Also, Daneger, you’re very handsome! Greetings from Québec in Canada!
The Newports head chef actually won Masterchef UK so that’s why the food is quality
Can understand why!
I live in travel and I travel all the way to the place to get a chippy a few times a year it’s that good
Can't blame ya!
I eat this fish in Anstruther ...
Anstruther is amazing for fish n chips but cromars in St Andrews is definitely soooo sooo goood
Sooo sooo sooooooo good - send us some please?
No Anstruther is pronounced "Ainster" by the locals. But the fish bar is amazing!
yummy!
Soz for making ya hungry!
Shame you missed the East Pier Smokehouse, you missed a real treat there.
Always next time!
