The foam under the pcb it caught me by surprise, I didn't expect Razer to do it, but I'm glad they took the time for it. It's not often that a big, mainstream gaming keyboard manufacturer does that.
Overall the TKL looks great, very sleek and minimalist, especially with the RGB off.
Last video of the bunch, thanks for doing them! Enjoyed all of them, especially the SteelSeries Prime Mini and Shurikey Gear Hanzo keyboard!

Razer is finally putting those small details in their products that made the brand one of the biggests related to gaming years ago... Great review... The board looks awesome! Most excited about the switch toggle between gaming and typing. I can never find a keyboard that is really light for gaming yet, isn't aggravating to type on.

I love how they added a dampening foam and the 2nd gen Razer Linear red Optical swtiches , I'm using the huntsman Tournament Edition and I'm really glad they made the keys much quieter
Looks great! Glad they toned down the RGB. Is there RGB control without Synapse? Can you, for instance, set a static RGB scheme, and store it to an on-board profile, or define it as the keyboard default?

I bought the original less than a month ago and returned it just yesterday. Was just too loud for gaming at night. Wife said it sounded like I was popping popcorn. This one sound very promising.
I modded my keyboard 2 months ago, Bloody B975, has the same construction as Huntsman V2 TKL and the same kind of switches. I add 2 layers of PE foam on the bottom and one layer cut for switches between the PCB and the aluminum plate on top. I lube the switches with dielectric grease and stabilizers wire from PCB. I removed the stabilizer wire from the switches, it doesn't make any sense and it doesn't really do anything it should. I cut the excess plastic that holds the wire on the switch. Now my keyboard sounds really good, probably better than Huntsman V2 TKL. Replay if you want to see some pictures with the modified switches.
this would be a great addition to my setup, i'm slowly building my gaming setup and the keyboard is what i'm missing. since i'm a student i can't really work so much. but either ways good video. much lovwe as always
I think that the keyboard looks really cool but I have a couple of questions. Is this keyboard better than the Apex Pro and what is the actuation point on the new V2 switch?

@@shauqiesyahrisy2894 I disagree, but also agree with you in the same time. For people who just want to game and doesn't want to modify their keyboard I'd say buy a prebuilt. But if you're just a normal person who doesn't play much games but enjoys the keyboard hobby and want to have your own look I'd say build one.
Example: The KBD67 lite when in-stock would be a great 100 dollar board as it a hotswap, north facing led PCB. Plus a good sounding gasket mounted case (ofc you still need to buy your own switches & keycaps).
Hey Techne, just wanted to ask for your opinion on buying a steelseries headset in the current year like the arctis 5's, is it worth the money considering they released a long time ago but reviews said they're solid?

Man I've always been a Razer fan and im rocking my viper mini right now! and thanks to your sick review from it well ofc I gotta cop it! and now watching this keyboard with the sound test and teardown... man Take my F money!!! I love the vids man It'd be cool if I'll get those cuz I am only using a membrane keyboard for like 4 yrs and it got back light but the letters do not light up just the freaking plate whatever u call it.

The tkl one's pretty solid with that detachable usb also the key is an improvement from the v1. Shame the full size doesn't come with the detachable usb otherwise it's all good. Great job on the improvement Razer and Great review as always Techne!!

I currently have a Blackwidow with yellow switches and I love it but it double taps a bunch hopefully these optical switches will help me when I upgrade

Razer really put their work in and listened to the community! I'd definitely use this over any custom kb for gaming, especially with that 8k hz polling rate.

I have a cynosa keyboard by razer for a long time now and I've been looking at tkl keyboards and this one looks pretty awesome and sounds amazing, definitely would be an upgrade for me as I've had my eye on this one or the steel series apex. The size is nice and the logo right above the arrows is pleasing to look at since it isn't jumping out at you, blended in good. Have a nice time relaxing, always glad to see your reviews!
I’m amazed at how Razer is improving their keyboards and products overall. This at first sounded like a membrane keyboard but it isn’t!! Love your videos man, honest and well detailed, simply just awesome.

i have the previous version of huntsman tkl i mast admit i love the loud sound sound of keystrokes, the v2 seems good upgrade for the hunntsman series even comes with wrist rest a big plus there but i would prefer a wireless version. Awesome review as always keep up the good work
I just got one of these. I like it. It's the regular V2 and I can type SILENTLY on it without too much trouble.
You guys demonstrating them are LOUD.
The only trouble I'm having is that the ctrl key on the left hand side feels weirdly small and that along with a few other things just feels a bit weird and I keep hitting the wrong keys. I'm attempting to re-train myself with Typing of the Dead.

Looks amazing! I like the fact that it comes with pbt keycaps so they won't shine with time and other thing I like is that the keyboard is very easy to open - just remove some screws and pop it open.
I'm a fan of those switches, they sound almost like those Gateron "silent" switches whilst sounding a bit less mush-y, nice. Also thanks for that video marathon you just did man, have a good break lol

I was just about to buy the Huntsman TE, I had enough of waiting for the upgraded switches, and here it is. Gaming mode and higher polling rates also seem interesting, as it means they still working on improving input latency and also general usability which is great.

Looks like it would be a nice upgrade from what I'm currently using. After getting a blackshark v2 headset I'm starting to consider Razer products now when looking for new peripherals

Sounds great! Had an older huntsman te and had to foam mod and add o-rings to make it sound better. Ended up buying a new keyboard cause it gave me static shocks touching the sides...
I think this keyboard is a perfect upgrade from the previous version. However, they should make full-sized keyboards with detachable cables. Really loved the sound and the included wrist-rest as well.
the first day the sound was normal but the day after my whole keyboard (every key) has a rattle sound and it's pissing me off

Man this took long enough to drop but i love the fact that they improve each release this is what its all about innovating the game and taking loved features across the lineup and pressing them into the next models.
What I really like about this board is that once you opened it you have your keyboard unlike the custom keyboards you have to put together. But my top likes about this is the nice and slick shape and the wrist rest. Really like the wrist rest too! Keep it up!!!!

After lubing the stabs, it does sound WAY better compared to factory lube
I got one of these a week ago myself(Analog version to be precise). However it's plagued by software/hardware bug that sometimes causes a key to behave like it is stuck, until pressed again. Searching around on forums and reddit, it seems to be a common issue with this board, so now I have to send it back to amazon and go on another keyboard hunt.
I love that razer made the tkl with the quieter switches. I am in the process of trying to decide between the hyper x allo tkl, Logitech G915 tkl linear red switches, K70 Champion Corsair tkl speed silvers...and now I can't not consider this bad boy. Thanks man, love your energy and insight!

I am curious to see if the switches face the same issue as on the V1 huntsman and the mini, where they are loose if any force is applied to them. Would be interested to see if razer did anything about that issue!
I have a question regarding the regular V2 huntsman verison (Razer Huntsman v2) - Doest it have usb type A at the end of the cable or it is only Type C? I am asking because my motherboard is old does not have type c. Thank you

I bought the Huntsman TKL v1 and ye it actually is very loud, I knew of the silent switches but they were only in the Huntsman Mini. I didn't know that the TKL would get them too :( anyway great vid, might take a look at the v2 TKL myself (but the price tag is a bigger one this time, so might not be able to buy it) or I just win it haha. Haven’t had the chance to use a mechanical or optical keyboard in my life but looking at reviews to determine which to buy soon, i’d say this is a good one! I think switching to a linear switch from my cynosa will be like a game changer. I do like the sound of the v1 huntsman better or maybe i’m just new to these kinds of keyboard
Can you use any key caps on this or has to be Razer ones? Will it be a problem if the new keycaps space bar doesn't have the stabilizers.
I've got a question. I'm looking for a new keyboard, coming from a G810 (I'm getting chattering issues after 5y of use) and I'm on the fence between the Huntsman V2 in this video and the Corsair K100. Both got good reviews from you. Which of those two is the better keyboard?

I lubed the stabilisers on mine with some Krytox XHT-BDZ and it definitely sounds better than after you used dielectric grease here, with less rattle. It's a thicker lube, industrial level stuff. I'd highly recommend it but only for stabilisers, it's far too thick for switches.
Honestly this TKL v2 fixes so many of the problems v1 had, so fairs to Razer on that and of course thank you Techne for another great review!
Stealth look with those substantail key presses. Man that keyboard's diabolical!
The 8k Hz polling rate is a huge step up for competitive play you overlooked a bit during the review, I recommend battlenonsense videos regarding keyboard input lag. A Corsair keyboard used to be top dog with the lowest latency even using old cherry mx switches instead of optical or omnipoint because it had 4000hz polling rate and custom firmware. Huntsman V2 now has 8k Hz polling rate and optical switches so it must boast the lowest latency! Cheers, and good luck yall in the giveaway!
