Most of the time, people march with bassoons or tubas, and they're like "Yes, this instrument is very low." This fucking guy walks out and hes like "YES THIS INSTRUMENT EXISTS"
+Kenneth McCamish When you learn to read English a little better, they'll teach you about informal language. Slang, colloquialisms, dialect... it's all great stuff. There's more to the language than they taught you in the third grade.
You think your cool when you play bari until someone whips out a contrabass..... well shit there goes me being the biggest horn in band, but I love bari it's awsome
A saxophone is a great way to show off masculinity where the deeper you go the manlier you are. I also play the bari sax and I fear that this kid is more of a man than I can ever become.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed them. I'm currently working on some new recordings to make the channel more active, as it's been over a decade since my last upload.
That's amazing, I know orchestra kids that marvel at my Bari sax, and tweak when they hear my pedal tone. P.S. I love that you have to use a guitar neckstrap to hold it.
My band instructor made me play the tuba's "If Only I Had a Brain"(Wizard of Oz) solo with my Contrabass BBb clarinet because the tubas couldn't reach that rip that a phat woodwind could get 😬
HAHAHAHA! In response to Miannafilms...after marching in High School Band with a Baritone Saxophone, I wouldn't even think of marching with one! (lol) :)
@Buddy12997 Agreed. As much as I love the tone on my soprano and the fact that I can play it for an extremely long time without breathing, my bari plays with MUCH better ease. Depending on the reed strength/quality it may or may not sustain as well and require a larger volume of air, but the notes definitely come out with significantly less work.
This is from personal experience, and it seems the lower you reeded insturment(larger reed) the notes come out easier, but it takes lots of air to fill it up.
You're a large one, contrabass
Giant, without a doubt
You make me breathe on every count
All red and puffing all about
Contrabass
Lol
Bone-Tone Lord Good one XD
Ha
Bone-Tone Lord Nice. Are you in a band? I'm in a jazz ensemble
Lol
As a soprano sax player I feel obligated to say size doesn't matter!
Lol dude I play Bari and this thing freaks me out.
Deezus Christ I never thought I would hear a black guy say that
Kenny Schultz I play tenor it freaks me the fuck out
Lol
I play euphonium and this instrument scares me
And I thought I was a beast for marching a bari sax
DUDE. MTG AND BARI. THAT'S MY LIFE.
Matthew Holland :D
I KNOW.
you're not a man unless you march one a contrabass xD
Wesley Wheeler i dont think its possible
Most of the time, people march with bassoons or tubas, and they're like "Yes, this instrument is very low."
This fucking guy walks out and hes like "YES THIS INSTRUMENT EXISTS"
Haha!
+Alex Elsner "They're like, he's like. . . " what the heck language is that?
+Kenneth McCamish Shut up. At least it's funny. I bet it's a funnier joke that you can ever make. :/
We don't March with bassoons... I've tried that and the BD said "NO! NOT A MARCHING INSTRUMENT!"
+Kenneth McCamish When you learn to read English a little better, they'll teach you about informal language. Slang, colloquialisms, dialect... it's all great stuff. There's more to the language than they taught you in the third grade.
Who would freak out if they discovered that the U.S. Army Field Band MARCHED with these things for decades?
+American Outdoor Notification Systems me i figured it out last year and i was hysterical
They also marched with the subcontrabass saxophone, they needed like 3 or 4 people to carry it
TheOldTrombonium they marched with bigger ones too lol
I saw a video on that earlier
TheOldTrombonium that is a very specific thought, which further leads me to believe; you already know 😉
This guy is going places
gringoire77 that was pretty good
To the floor with that weight
Couldnt fit through the door frame
Yeah probably the chiropractor
There, children, in that giant bell, you were born.
I could fit like 7 of my Alto in there.
That means 20 soprano
People who play alto is stupid I play tenor
Trez GAMING people who play alto are stupid* checkmate bitch
Michael Sax Coen I can fit my midget friend in there
My brother plays tenor and he is stupid af
When does he hit the infamous low "brown note" and cause everyone to shit their pants? LOL!
You know, this was actually a REALLY solid band. And yes that’s including the contra.
The trumpets, the altos, everything!
Honestly the band sucked, a lot of mess ups.
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar Well, to each their own!
@@tonyflamingo8963 Indeed
*puts my bari in the bell of his sax*
You think your cool when you play bari until someone whips out a contrabass..... well shit there goes me being the biggest horn in band, but I love bari it's awsome
Sean C M SAME but I don't have a contrabass in my band
Now imagine if that was a tubax or subcontrabass saxophone
*_YOU'RE_*
Sean C M lol ikr
Sean C M ya the biggest horn is the tuba in a marching band
*plays lowest note on bass clarinet*
Me: pretty low
*plays lowest note on this thing*
Me: holy tonola crapola
Lowest note on the Contrabass Sax is actually an octave below the lowest note on the Bass Clarinet (if it’s a low E flat one)
The lowest note on a Contrabass Sax is written as Bb3 but played in Db1.
Legend says little jimmy is somewhere in that bell
Where dose this guy guy get this kind of saxophone only 12 are still in existence
One of those is in Seattle, owned and played by Jay Easton. This guy presumably borrowed or rented it from him.
nah ur thinking of subcontrabass which is deeper and very much larger, contrabass' are far more common
my bad i was wrong, there are only 15 "original" contrabass sax's (ones made by adolphe sax) however they still manufacture them today.
Legend has it, the contrabass sax uses a 2x4 for its reed.
And I'm here with a Bari like
Willie Gomez same, i have no reason to complain about matching now
adam rip ikr
And I’m here with a Bass saxophone
Right
sure bring the Fog Horn to a concert lol !!
xD its does
I couldn't help but smile at this it was just so cool how they were all so chill about playing that and I'm just dying back here
That was amazing. I play tenor and it's always been a dream of mine to play the contrabass
Be a bit different from switching from Bb to Eb
Not really. Ur Bb concert tuning nite goes from C to G
Still a difference, a small one, but noticable.
I play tenor and so far I want to play all of the different saxes, sadly that would cost 3 fortunes
Same for me except I play alto, tenor, and bari.
And I think I'm the stuff with a bass clarinet..
Maarley try contra my guy
You mean ripoff saxophone(don’t kill me pls)
I have a contrabass clarinet
Maarley alto saxes are heavier
If you can sound good on bass clarinet then I respect you. Few can but it’s epic when they do.
Best sax ever. I'm proud of owning one
Where did you get one?
Man this guy must be pretty strong to be doing this the entire time
if i get a contrabass clarinet for my freshman year in band then i'm gonna walk around challenging the brass to a fart noise contest xD
Do a duo: Contrabass and Foghorn. Truly, a match made in heaven
If there is one benefit to being sick, it's that you get to sing along with a legendary performance to a legendary instrument.
I feel him as a contrabass trombonist
Jeff Cooper I praise you
Jeff Cooper I play tenor
I salute you soilder
Nice
Now my tenor sax looks miniscule.
Also Bari sax is small with comparing of contrabass sax)))
🤔🤔🤔
You and contrabass saxes... why isn't this viral?
A saxophone is a great way to show off masculinity where the deeper you go the manlier you are. I also play the bari sax and I fear that this kid is more of a man than I can ever become.
(looks at tenor) well dang...
Even my bari is dwarfed by this thing!
(Looks at Soprano Saxophone)
*looks at sopranino*
@@drakegaming2819 lol
Matt Zacek me too and this is just one size above the bari like what?
Wherever you are, Marcell, I'm glad you saw fit to give use the three videos you did, and I hope you're doing well
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed them. I'm currently working on some new recordings to make the channel more active, as it's been over a decade since my last upload.
@@marcelhelland, tell me please, if you know. Which brand and model of contrabass saxophone in this video? Thanks!
I can get pretty low on my Bb clarinet but...WOW! This is amazing.
check out the tubax. it's in a video by the United States army field band where they look at unheard of instruments in the sax family
I've seen it. Good video!
+Donna Belhadj I played Bb clarinet ... I couldn't get any lower than g ... I play bass clarinet now lol .
lol
what? Clarinet only goes down to low e, max. It's impossible to not get to the lowest note
Fiiiiive Golden Riiiiings.
Where’d they even get one?! Amazing job playing that beast!
This is the very definition of EPIC!!!
i though my bari was big shit
Monster Mash Same
Monster Mash my bari is big enough.
Monster Mash I feel like a Clarinet again... I PLAY THE BARI GOD DANG IT
Beershaft 77 u thought !
Lol
That tone is unmatched.
That's freakin' awesome.
That was fantastic! And very impressive how well he survived with that choking him. My bari. seems like nothing compared to that.
My little alto sax is NOTHING compared to that monster!!!🎷👧
Your sax solo was still awesome!
It makes my tenor look small
Damn I thought I was the cool kid being first trumpet
Zach Halteman same though!
Zach Halteman gtfo
the orchestra is amazing!
Holy back ache right there. Props to him for carrying that for that long!
This is child is Beast to have that much breath in one measure
Man, do I wish my school wasn't poor, and we could have a controbass. I play bari.
Natsuthehedgehog boi lol same
Natsuthehedgehog boi my school is very nice the lowest sax we have is a bari
Same for my school Sax's lowest is Baritone Sax
This guy is awsome!!!!!!
Great sound, I would love to play a giant like that, but it’s too expensive
Epic Win. I wish our school had a contrabass...
My school haves a Contra-Alto Clarinet in EEb
Brilliant! And I really needed the laugh, so thanks!
Last video 10 years ago omg!!Just imagine where is he now.No way
My brother introduced me to the contrabass saxophone.
It’s my dream to one day play the contrabass
I thought that my Bari was big...
Sigh
Clara55555ification There are types of saxophones around here.
Ikr! Getting your hands on one of these is hard though.
***** you can too hold those
True
SAAAAAMMMEE I was all like I have the biggest sax in band and then I saw this and my jaw dropped
im a 14 year old girl and im loving it boys that play saxophone
Nice, Marcel!
Thanks, Randy!
You're awesome! Where did you get the contrabass?
One wrong move and the conductor would be sent flying by that big old horn!! XD
the god of saxophones right there
That was so cool!
This is funny and good beyond all imagining.
got love that contrabass!!!!
Love it!! ♥
That was great!
Is this a highschool band or college band
Collage
The descriptions states it is the Rainbow city band of Seattle. Look closely at the members. You’ll see mainly older people.
I cannot imagine the lung power he must have. Holy shit.
i wanna learn sax just to play this...wow!
This. Is amazing.
Imma just walk the opposite direction with my alto *walks away*
That's amazing, I know orchestra kids that marvel at my Bari sax, and tweak when they hear my pedal tone. P.S. I love that you have to use a guitar neckstrap to hold it.
Its a huge horn! Amd a great cover!
Aye the trumpets tho 👌
that’s so cool! sadly my high school doesn’t have a contrabass saxophone. but I would love to try out that instrument
Nobodies hs just has one these are rare asf
i like how it sounds like 2 12s and a amp pushin through a trunk. bad ass
And I thought the bari was freakin huge
Good job!!!!
my mind has been blow....... AGIAN!!!
yeahhhh!! bravooo!!
Omg I want one
Me too
Jeffrey Tinsley This saxaphone is very rare. you probably wont find it anywhere. but the bass saxaphone sounds the same. thats what im trying to get.
Minecraft Warrior you can buy one at sax.co.uk, but it's really expensive; like $30000~$20000's
This makes me want to create a sousaphone-like sax so these things are easier to hold.
I believe Adolph Sax tried something like that but it was ultimately a failure. Check out tubax
People are like “a string bass is really low.” The this guy comes out like “hey wussup”
I wish my parents would by me a contrabass saxophone :)
Wow a high school with this? That’s crazy
I'm in love omfg yes #SaxySax
Oh hey look it's mw
I thought marching with a sousaphone was beast
When you think you're cool for standing with a bass sax then this kid whips out of nowhere with that
My band instructor made me play the tuba's "If Only I Had a Brain"(Wizard of Oz) solo with my Contrabass BBb clarinet because the tubas couldn't reach that rip that a phat woodwind could get 😬
COOL thing is i marched with one
How in the world? I tried picking up my friends Bari while sitting, and it was hard to lift XD
I lift weights so lifting my bari is like lifting an alto and the contrabass is like my bari
Lol XD
I feel sorry for your back and shoulders
HAHAHAHA! In response to Miannafilms...after marching in High School Band with a Baritone Saxophone, I wouldn't even think of marching with one! (lol) :)
I wanna see that on a football field!
That is the reediest timbre ever! Bet the reed's like a 2x4!
@Buddy12997 Agreed. As much as I love the tone on my soprano and the fact that I can play it for an extremely long time without breathing, my bari plays with MUCH better ease. I would die to March with this taht would be so epix
Bravo!!
that is the biggest saxophone i have ever seen
Amazing
Lungs like Hulk
@norweigy DANGIT!!! IM ALWAYS 2 HOURS AWAY! are you performing again soon?
This is from personal experience, and it seems the lower you reeded insturment(larger reed) the notes come out easier, but it takes lots of air to fill it up.
I recognize the instrument from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". (Played by the Mothership.)
Okay but where the hell do you get these things? Lmao
And yet the music to this is still written in treble clef........
