I couldn't figure out how to message you directly, so I hope you don't mind me saying it here. I watched this video over 10 years ago when I was in junior high. I found the "excellent defense in a number of sports" joke to be quite amusing, and for some reason it stuck with me. About three weeks ago, I was interviewing for a job at a law firm and a partner and I were talking saxophones. He mentioned he had seen a really large one, and I said that was possibly a contrabass sax. In that conversation, I totally stole your defense joke, and he gave me the most genuine laugh I heard all day. I knew that if I later got the job, it would be at least in part because of that moment right there. About a week ago, I got a call saying I got the job. I had to come here and thank you. Thanks, friend.

Pug Maniac I only play bass clarinet and my family STILL gets annoyed, they say i practice too much and are sick of hearing me play the same measures over and over again lol...
For one's enemies, do you play it at them, or just drop it on them? Do you have to register it? Do you clean it with Draino? In well below freezing temps do you have to wrap in it cloth, or let warm water drip through it? Does it bite? Or constrict like a boa? I suppose one could play it and fart at the same time with no one the wiser!
For enemies, I play it then drop it. I find Liquid-Plumr to be a bit more effective than Drano due to the expansive foaming action. It handles freezing temperatures like a champ. It both bites and constricts. Regarding registration, the federal government requires registration of all weapons of brass destruction.
Okay, lol. You play it, then drop it on your enemies? I don't think that's a "sound" strategy however. If you play it first, the whole world would hear it (or feel it) first, and know you're coming. Just drop it on em, they'll never know what hit em! Ever think about a combo-duet with an octobass player? That's a Moby fiddle and takes two people to play it?
Megaguris100 I knew that the bass saxophone existed. From what I heard, the contrabass sax only existed in a few remaining century-old instruments, until a couple decades ago, when ORSI decided to start making them again. I don't know if a subcontrabass saxophone existed until a company in South America began making them a decade or two ago.
+Franks Edits It's funny that you think Tenor Saxes are 15 lbs. Like bro, lol have you ever held one? Yes a baritone is heavier, but Tenor Saxes aren't 15 pounds. Your baritone logic really draging me down.
Franks Edits Okay, i have to be honest, do you even lift was a great comeback XD. But they really aren't. Yamaha's are about 18-20 lbs, and saxophones gain weight over time. Also, with saxophones, all of the weight is getting forced on your neck. Even if they may seem light holding them, it hurts your neck, even with padding neckstraps. Alto's arent very heavy, there about 7-1o lbs though.
As a sax player and enthusiast, thanks for sharing the legend that is the contrabass saxophone! I knew they existed - just never had the pleasure of meeting one.
