I’m a student in social work. I can tell you from what I’ve learned, they teach us family preservation above everything else. Even when abuse is high for children, they want us to keep the family whole. I can’t speak for all social workers, but some will avoid reporting anything odd.

@Rose Goodwin it does, part of it is due to an overworked system. I think CPS is one of the lowest enrolled departments. Correct me if I’m wrong.

    • @nuckinfuts7610
      @nuckinfuts7610 Год назад +1

No one, literally no one is associating wealth or higher education with good behavior. The reason why these things are even mentioned is bc it further reveals that these "parents" not only possessed a better understanding, but they also had the financial means to access the wide variety of resources that so many other households do not have. Yet even with their finacial privelages and much easier access, they STILL chose to turn to a fking BOX. It pushes home their sadistic behavior even more. How y'all couldn't surmise this on your own is almost just as perplexing. Serving as further proof that no matter what the educational level is, it doesnt cure ignorance or people's yearning desire to feel outraged.

They won’t ever consider themselves mentally ill. My father was crushed to death in a coal mine when I was 8 mths old. Mother took 3 life insurance policy’s on me an tried overdosing me on paragoric elixir unsuccessfully as my grandfather caught her. I then lived in a small room big enough for a twin bed. I was to stay in bed or get beaten. When I wet the bed, the sheets got hung out my bedroom window for everyone to see an then put back on the bed. My first day of kindergarten I was so humiliated with peers asking me why. I hated school from the first day. I didn’t make it to foster care until age 15 after moms husbands oldest son age 24 beat me in the face an ribs an left marks. A friends dad was a attorney an another friend who’s mom was a foster parent got involved an saved me. When I was 30 my bio mother applied for foster children an was refused because she had children in the system… after 8 yrs of no contact sue called me to scream at me how it was my fault she couldn’t have foster children. Mental illness gets left alone to raise children an consequences do not heal them.

RAD isn't a reason to lock someone up. It basically means they were neglected and didn't form a healthy attachment to their caregivers. In very rare situations it can lead to acting out or cruelty to animals and, even more rare, cruelty to people. People with reactive attachment disorder are basically unable to engage with life because they're accustomed to being ignored and not having their needs met. Rarely do they become violent unprovoked.

I have 5 boys 3 with very serious behavioral illnesses and I spent hours, days finding them the right help but it’s not EVER a matter of a doctor is gonna fix the child the parents need to be part of the solution and building a box and locking him in there only caused this poor kid more trauma. When are we going to learn that if babies & children aren't cared for (emotionally, physically & mentally) their inside struggles are eventually going to present outwardly????? It's not that hard to comprehend. A human being can only suffer or struggle so much before purging that torment in one form or another (self-harm, lashing out, etc).
We need to stop acting like kids don't remember trauma or are less than full thinking & feeling beings.
Everything we do - and don't do - leaves an impression. We need to take children's needs more seriously

Why does the reporter keep using “them/they” pronouns for the boy? It’s annoying with no clarification. 🙄 also, my child has RAD from me being gone for deployments during my military career when she was an infant and though she has many issues, knowing what I know about this mental illness it doesn’t make sense for them to blame his running away on it. It would be the opposite… children with RAD WANT a bond. It’s obvious the child was afraid to tell about his mistreatment since he was attending school regularly and returning home. This is so sad and I hope these monsters get the maximum punishment.

My mom grounded me to my room ones for 4 weeks, but I came out to have meal with the family, do chores 2 times a month, and I had a full bathroom attached to it and a big window on 2 walls. 2 beds and a waterfall dresser. I was about 13. I only had a bible to read in my room, and nothing else to do. I was very depressed and lonely, and very torchered by this. I cannot imagine being kept in this boys jail his parents made for him to live inside of most of the time for 3 whole years! 😢
This is severe abuse. These parents have a problem with their conscience to have justified doing this to anyone, much less a troubled adopted child.
Both parents should get a minimum of 20 years in prison each. These parents must have mental problems to justify this. They are more than evil. They are without natural instincts and compassion to have done this to this child. I hope this child and the siblings get the help they need to heal and over come this monstrous abuse.

The fact that their attorney is literally trying to justify their actions is completely disgusting. Why couldn't they take their child to a child psychologist? They probably didn't want to feel the shame of having a child with a mental disorder. They want to be viewed as people with normal kids.
There is no shame in having a child with a mental disorder. The shame comes when you lock your child in a box similar to a prison cell.

Absolutely insane, did they undergo psychological evaluation as parents, regularly to keep adoption status, adoption and foster children need to be monitored on a yearly basis until those children old enough to care for themselves. Situations change and mental health of parents including substance abuse might be a factor now, that was not at the time of adoption.

Yet again a case where the parents knew what was best for their child. Talk about an insane situation, the kid is 14, did they threaten him on a daily basis as to keep him quiet??? I mean he was going to school would've had many opportunities to say something. They most likely 'terrorised' him to the extent that it would be in his best interest not say anything. ...What about the half-brothers??Were they told the same would happen to them if they ever said anything? Or just bribed with IPhones and material crap.
Truly mind blowing. Seems like those supposedly intelligent/successful parents had more mental issues than their adopted kid.
As far as the mother's well timed 'report' about the kid being violent, hurting animals etc...Are they planning to use this as their defence???
    - "Your honour, by locking him up in a box, we were protecting society, making sure he wouldn't turn into a serial killer "
When in all probability, they were just waiting for him to finally turn 18 so that they could throw him out on the streets like trash without any repercussions.
GenX, on average tend to have slightly more brain cells than the generations that followed. Guess they're part of the defective batches. Looks like he's on steroids whilst she has some kind of eating disorder.
Lock them up in a tiny cell for a few decades (with no bucket), see how they like it, maybe that'll 'fix' them too? Hope all their kids won't end up completely messed up after all this. Sick morons.

I am assuming (based on this video) that the parents did not want to spend any of their money, nor want people to know that THEIR child had such severe issues. It's all about looks and finances. The other thing I noticed is that the young lady Katherine(?) kept saying "they" when talking about the victim, so I am curious if one of the other children was with this boy when he ran away. I was also struck by the comments noted at the end of the video talking about why the boy was getting into trouble in school. It was EXACTLY the same sort of comments that we have heard when some young person shoots at people in their school!!!!! I hope the victim gets some in depth help and the parents go to prison.

It seems to me this reporter is putting the whole blame on this kid , so she is saying as a child herself she would just put up with this outrageous parenting of locking her up in a confined room. If I was the child I would run away myself it’s absolutely despicable behaviour by an adult, they said that the child had been in their care since the age of 2 , could it be they were too concerned about themselves and they never gave this child the love care and support he absolutely deserved . Maybe he had behavioural problems because he was never disciplined at a young age what was right from wrong, so miss reporter should have a look at a few of these things first before blaming the kid , because you just don’t do that to a child , maybe a good long stint in a 6x4 cell for a while for these 2 so called parents and see how they feel about being locked up and nowhere to go.

    • @lisak5804

It's obvious no one read the police reports which tell a lot more than any reporter or guest on the show. The boy was begging school police and local police officers to arrest him because that was better than going home. He wanted to be in a family that loved him. I'm in a local group to this area and mothers of fellow students questioned their children that went to school with him and all the kids said that he was very nice and he was also funny at times and they never felt threatened being around him and were quite shocked when the reports of his misbehavior in school from Arizona came out because they just did't see that. The students all sent him messages of support after they found out. The ring doorbell camera in his room also showed the multiple beatings that would take place by the father and he was only allowed to eat food that was left over or scraps after the family had their dinner together... which he was never included in. He was told when he could shower and if he used his bucket he was made to wash it out every morning. The only punishments that his sisters ever got was maybe their iPhone or iPad was taken away and they were not allowed to help him in any way but they knew exactly what was going on but never said anything. Because I was in a local community page because I live here and my kids also went to the same school as him I saw the police reports they were posted and what was in there was absolutely heartbreaking and it is apparent that the lawyers for the parents are trying to send out a message that the kid was horrible but yet they never said that they got him therapy they would just lock him up it's a very sad situation. On a side note, my kids took martial art classes with him when he was young before they moved to AZ. I hope he finds a loving family and now he's able to get the therapy he needs. I can't even listen to this report without wanting to scream
