I was adopted at 14 days. I was so lucky to have the most amazing adoptive parents anyone could ask for that includes the extended family. It sickens me to know that other adoptees are being abused how could anyone do that to any child! All adoptees come with trauma being pulled away from your biological family at any age is traumatic and leaves life long scars and I don’t think most adoptive parents understand that. It doesn’t matter how amazing an adoptive family is like mine adoptee’s will always have to face their adoption trauma on their own which is hard enough little lone being abused. My heart goes out to that child. I hope you find the right family who will allow you to be you.
EACTLY. I WAS ADOPTED FROM cOSTA rICA by a Canadian family and they were abusive, then they put me in foster care 3 years after the adoption. so I went from one hell to an even worst hell. and the ministry did nothing to help me. Teens with RAD are more often then not adoptee’s. Unfortunately one of the manifestations of RAD is to terrorise everyone around you, to include verbally and physically abusing everyone in your household. These parents probably felt as though they had other children to protect.
The fact the had footage of it is even worse... I can't even imagine the pain this boy went thru... There's no excuse for them to treat anyone like that... Especially their son.. smh. They deserve what they get... Only bad thing is their cell would be bigger than their son's room😬
At first I thought they were talking about the boy that died that was forced to sleep on the cold garage floor. I'm shocked that there is more people like this out there. I do not blame him for wanting to go to jail instead of home.
What was happening at the kids' school? Were his teachers aware of something amiss? What about the neighbours? Weren't the adoption regulators following up on things and watching our for the childs' wellbeing? What was the situation with the other children in the household?

Shame on the monsters and those that defend them. 💘💘💘
I’ve adopted both of my kids and honestly both births were the best days of our lives. I cannot even fathom hurting them in any way shape or form. Love should be at the forefront of every adoption, unfortunately it’s allll about $$$$ and far too many slip thru the cracks because, well, they’ve got the money, so they’re able to adopt. I know so many people who want to parent children so badly and can’t have them naturally, but can’t afford it. It’s sickening, it’s scary and it’s so unfair to these babies/kids who deserve a better life when they’re adopted. What in the world is wrong with people?!?!?! Omg. It breaks my heart for that child, he didn’t deserve a single speck of what he got. The poor kid just wanted a home, a family and he got this?? Disgusting. Heartbreaking. And I can’t even with these disgusting people who tortured this poor boy. My heart goes out to him and I pray he will be ok and will find happiness in his life. Nobody said parenting was easy, it’s hard. So people have got to make sure they’re ready to sacrifice themselves and what their lives are before they commit to having children by any means, adoption or naturally. If you can’t handle it, don’t have kids. Keeping up with the joneses is not something anyone should try to do, ESPECIALLY, when it comes to having kids. ✌️ 🙏🏻 🤗 💜 Take care everyone, but most importantly, take care of the children in our world. Your own and others, it takes a village, all children deserve better than what us as individuals had. So give that to them, help them achieve happiness and feel loved.
@@nancydrew5606 Absolutely agree, it’s disgusting that a child who needs a home has to go thru an agency of any sort, state or private and that the person seeking to parent has to have so much money in order to make it happen, at least thru a private agency that is. Master manipulators have a way of getting through the system and are able to adopt and shouldn’t be. It’s awful and scary af. ✌️
Cant have kids, raised a stepdaughter and helped with others where I could. I can't understand when biological parents hurt their own but this just makes even less sense. Why adopt a child then?
I wish I'd been adopted as my parents were not very nice my mother left home when I was around 10 years old, which broke me, then my dad got a girlfriend she hit me & I admit I slapped her back as she was nothing to do with me, my father told me never to touch her again & I apologised for slapping her, she told my dad if he doesn't go I'll leave you, so my dad put me in care where my Mum then got custody of me, to have her dump me back with social services when she broke up with the man she left my dad for because she cheated on him.
You adopted your children from birth,so there was no environmental influences to cause them to develop RAD. Kids adopted after the age of 2 are most prone to RAD. So don’t judge these parents based off your experience, theirs is entirely different.
My son was diagnosed with RAD (Reactive attachment disorder) And that is SOOOOOO not the way to treat a child with this. It actually will make him worse. It's not ok to do that to any child. And will be devastating and mentally breaking for anyone. But children with this you have to understand it is more detrimental to them. This can be addressed and actually the child can work through all these things. With counseling/therapy and there is schools who have teachers who are trained to help with this disorder. Being a more attentive, loving, caring and understanding parent helps. Reading up and knowing what they are going through and working with them. Helps. Locking them in a room alone for hours. With no interaction.....nope not buying that was what their only way to deal with it was. This was abuse and neglect. Sadly some like that one attorney looks at these children as monster's. And she was trying to almost justify it. That's from lack of education on it. They are no where near that. They are special children who need extra care. I did research and work with counselors/therapist, Doctor's and the school system. To get my son the best care and help to help my son and us through it. He was 6 when he was diagnosed. He is 14 now and doing amazing and can't tell he even has it now. This poor kid will need more than just someone to help him with this disorder. But the added mental damage these people did to him. My heart goes out to him. They need to go to prison.
This is so horrible an the parents are out on bail please tell me how it makes sense.... an they lived in Arizona before they moved there I feel so bad for that poor kid just horrible
The worst that can happen to a child is to be abandoned from his biological parents then getting adopted as a toy or as a trophy. ... please people don't make kids that you can't look after... wear condoms
Adopted does not mean they are "abandoned" by their biological parents. I am a birth mom and my daughter has had the best life. Her parents gave her all the things that I couldn't. She is now 20 and thriving in college and spending her days with her amazing friends on the beach. It was the hardest decision I ever made and it was also the best. She is a much better human because of the couple who raised her. Please keep your disgusting negative opinion to yourself.
@@andreaames141 regardless of aims, adoptees often feel like they've been abandoned. I'm adopted, and from what I know my birth mom had a very similar story to you. Why adopt and keep a child locked up if they were not going to help him ? Why keep videos of him, unless they were conducting experiments on him ? They treated him like a lab rat.
I’m an adoptive mom and never, ever considered myself some kind of hero. Instead I have been the most blessed person on earth since i had to have a hysterectomy at age 26. The real hero is the birth mom. When you adopt, you don’t even think the child is not biologically related. It’s about love, responsibility, and an incredible, unbreakable bond. I admit, that raising a child brings tears as well as joy, but adoption does not affect that rollercoaster ride. I was the one who cut her umbilical cord, and I was in the delivery room when she had her first baby. How can anyone treat a precious, innocent child in such a horrific way? If he didn’t have an attachment disorder before, he sure has one now.
I cuddled a little toddler who ran up to me and fell in the grocery store. Sweet little man lost his momma and thought I was her. I carried that precious little stinker around waiting for him to point to his momma (we found her quickly!!! Otherwise would have gone to an employee to have her rang on the intercom!!!). There were other children in the house that were removed. The only child that was abused was the adopted child. Hmmmmm. He probably doesn’t have any issues at all.
I don't care what disorder or behavioural problems your child has, such treatment of a child, adopted or not, is horrifying. They were treating this poor boy like this for years. I hope they spend at least as many years in prison, finding out what being confined in a box and treated like dirt is for themselves.
Lock the kid in his bedroom and make sure it has a bathroom if they were worried about him being bad! You can't lock a child in a room like that in a garage without typical amenities and not expect the kid to have hatred towards them. 😠
They physically abused this poor child by slamming him against the wall by his neck and hit him several times. He was beaten for taking chocolate once from the kitchen.
Wealth weaponizes cognative dissonance, they have the videos, just cause people are wealthy, doesn't mean they' re good parents. I am not withholding judgement, these adults are abusing their adoptive son. GUILTY.
I have a friend who has an adopted 12 year old daughter with RAD. This couple have worked hard and continue to get the help they need for her, including respite care so they can have a break. No it’s not easy. So why adopt? They had to have fostered him first so they at any point in time could have backed out. No excuses!!!!! They are horrible people period!!
Attachment disorder piss off, he told the cops arrest me I'd rather go to jail then go back home plus he ran away. Now they're out on bail WTF we can only hope street justice comes their way, they wouldn't want me as their neighbor
So you lock up a kid who has supposed behavior issues but said kid manages to go to school and never cause enough problems that anyone noticed " behavior" earlier??
As a step mother of a rad. I went through some of the hardest times in my life. Mentally emotionally and physically. She hurt my 6 month old when she was 7. Bruising her face and made her face bleed with the scratches she left on her face. She spent a year at a children's facility. She's now 12 and hates everyone and thing. Including her sister. What they did was wrong. But we had to have door alarms on every door in the house to just feel safe. I hope they all get the help they need. Reactive detachment disorder is the hardest.
I just want to tell you I understand your struggle. I have ptsd but can’t get any help or support for my child or myself and it’s horrifying. I’ve been begging for help for years, now she’s almost 16 and I’m not very hopeful about her future. There needs to be better support systems for children with behavioral issues and their families.
I am both an adoptee & an adoptive mama. My love for my now grown son knows no bounds. I would sacrifice anything for him, even my life it it came to that. I can’t even fathom what this couple has done to their innocent child. Why? Children should be loved & protected from people like these. A child with Attachment disorder needs more than the usual love & attention.
It's so sad and disgusting to think there's really people who would do something like this. And as for him being given a "prison sentence", the investigators said the poor boy told them he would rather go to prison! That just says how horrifying and devastating this has been for him. I'm crying for this child and I really hope these monsters get what they deserve, in one way or another.
CPS in every single state is failing our children!! This is getting out of control. I'm so tired of hearing about these situations. How many children have not made media news? As humans, parents, we need to come together and figure out a better way to protect our children!!!
You’re never really part of the family when you’re adopted I was adopted and they never let you forget that you were. It’s always held over your head somehow.
The fear he must have felt at the end of the school day is unimaginable, knowing what was waiting for him, yet the fear of what would happen if he told anyone must have been even worse. Affluence doesn't mean people should reserve judgement to wait and see why this happened, it happened because those so called "well educated affluent" citizens are evil POS' who should spend the rest of their days in a tiny room with a bucket, living in fear. There is no reason that justifies abuse of any kind.
I just get soooo angry when I hear about things like this, especially when the child is adopted. People usually give their children up in hopes of giving them a better life. So it breaks my heart for his biological family as well.
This poor child said that he felt like no one loved him and that he would rather go to prison than go back to his adopted “parents.” These adults tortured this innocent boy for 5 years and made him feel unloved. It’s already bad enough that his biological parents abandoned him, his foster parents only furthered his belief that he isn’t loved.
No,he probably tortured them. Teens with RAD tend to do that, they verbally and physically abuse everyone in the household including pets. RAD is primarily found in kids who were adopted, they never formed healthy attachment mechanisms and learned to avoid them all together. RAD presents with very anti-social behaviour and sometimes crosses over into psychotic or sociopathic behaviours. But there is help. These parent’s had the means to respite their teen at an adolescent facility that specialises in this area. Many facilities for “unruly” teens who do not follow social norms have such services.

Services and agencies that should protect the children from tragic situations are, as you know only too well, understaffed or staffed with unqualified or untrained individuals who can't tell a lamp post from a violin. In the case at hand, whoever placed an autistic child with this couple only saw their camouflage: beautiful home, comfortable surroundings, and two people who had everything that a child should want. Yet, there was so much rot and ugliness behind the mask, behind closed doors. I am sorry you went through such a terrible time. As the mother of two boys (now adult men) I can't bear the thought of one or both of them being in the hands of a system that goes for appearances without properly checking what's behind them. Take care, Bella Mae.
@@LifesPeachy321 Since the child told the police he'd rather be arrested and go to prison than be with these so-called parents, I would imagine this is the threat they used.

This story is stuff of nightmares! That poor boy will never trust another human again!
Not traumatic at any age, i never knew i was adopted till years afterward.
EACTLY. I WAS ADOPTED FROM cOSTA rICA by a Canadian family and they were abusive, then they put me in foster care 3 years after the adoption. so I went from one hell to an even worst hell. and the ministry did nothing to help me. The one good thing that happened was my friend from schools parents became my foster parents and they have always been great.
I wish I could got back in time & be adopted because my parents were both nasty people.

WTF is it with people and their lack of maternal/paternal instinct? One should protect the life of a child with their own! Anybody's child!
I've taken off running after a child running across the street with their disabled grandparents trying to get them. No matter if I was a mother or not, I would protect any child I saw in danger, but I also wouldn't intentionally throw them into a (basically) cage and expect them to not need help. Jesus. Teens with RAD are more often then not adoptee’s. Unfortunately one of the manifestations of RAD is to terrorise everyone around you, to include verbally and physically abusing everyone in your household. These parents probably felt as though they had other children to protect.

How could he not have issues? He had lived majority of life locked away from everyone.

Children are not a commodity and should not be on the 'market'.
@@nancydrew5606 Absolutely agree, it’s disgusting that a child who needs a home has to go thru an agency of any sort, state or private and that the person seeking to parent has to have so much money in order to make it happen, at least thru a private agency that is. There are plenty of people who want to love children but don’t fit the financial criteria. The checks and balances are usually pretty solid but, at the same time, they’re not.
Stop defending abusive adoptive parents! Believe your eyes not their lies.

Why did they adopt the child to begin with?
Tragic! I only hope the teen is placed in a home where he receives the love and care he has been deserving for years.

The fear he must have felt at the end of the school day is unimaginable, knowing what was waiting for him, yet the fear of what would happen if he told anyone must have been even worse. I just get soooo angry when I hear about things like this, especially when the child is adopted. People usually give their children up in hopes of giving them a better life. So it breaks my heart for his biological family as well.

How could any human say that!!!
