You are like me Mark... just shooting is such a pleasure. I am not competitive really, and just operadting these 18th century firearms is such a gas....
@KathrynLiz1 Its a true pleasure on my end too. I really have no interest in shooting modern forearms anymore, but LOVE these older style smoke poles. Adding the video cameras to the mix is equally as fun. Its a 50-50 deal using the cameras & guns at the same time. I LOVE it!! Thanks for watching....
Technical?? Hmmm...I'm probably the worse at technical explanations, especially with black powder. I usually just load 'er up safely & let 'er rip.......LOL Thanks for watching...
I can tell you that with my Pedersoli Indian Trade gun, it patterns very nicely at 40 yards with #7 1/2 shot as more than a few squirrels have found out.
Mark, your having way to much fun. I watched all your videos. Can’t wait to try out that Swiss powder I picked up this week. I need to get some of your zoo bottom criders.
That sounds like something FUN to try......I need to find some #4 shot first. That's hard to find around here. I did pour a bunch of 310's yesterday, those cans will suffer terribly with the buck & ball loads coming soon...LOL
@@blackpowdermaniacshooter you may be able to find some 12 gauge turkey shells at the gun store and then cut them open and get the shot that way. I can't wait to see the next video! I'm currently binge watching all you're videos lol

Mark No soda is safe from the old smoothbore! Neither are ducks and turkeys. That was pretty flat shooting for shot. As for another shooting scenario, maybe swing a single can from a tree limb and shoot from 50 yards. Have some sort of release mechanism using a string. I know you can do it! Thanks for the great video. Do you need donations for soda?
I tried that idea using water jugs and tomahawks on recent video & loved it! ruclips.net/video/lSRbA1--QBg/видео.html I'm going to try your idea with a single can & also try it with multiple cans tied together somehow. I already like your idea. I love watching the soda fly out of those cans! Donations?? No...I still have almost 100 cases ( 8 cans in each case) of that soda to shoot! Thanks for watching....and.....the idea.
@@MrCncmike Ohhh, I love the flintlock too...thanks for hanging around. I try to post something wacky or interesting every other weekend using percussion pistols, rifles, smoothbores, etc. ...keep on shooting brother, once black powder gets in your blood, its there forever!
Challenge: if you have a double barrel, it'd be neat to shoot a reactive double target. Set up the first target to trip a mechanism to launch the second target to be shot while it's moving. Perhaps a string/paddle/lever could be shot to release a swinging or jumping or running target? Idea: hang a weight above a "see saw" board with a can or two of your carbonated sugar waters. Shoot to release the weight which springs your other targets into the air for a second. Or roll a wheel down a ramp, or set a swinging target into motion. If you have no access to a double gun, add a second shooter and make it a team event. Or, in the truest of old-time battlefield expediency, fire your gun-then grab the next available gun (freshly dropped in most cases) and fire it onto the next target. The double target system might need more delay, but hey. Rube didn't make Goldberg in a day!
Now...I like those ideas! I don't have a double barrel, but, I do have other BP guns! Now you're getting me to thinking of the next fun video to film, thanks!!
I've watched so many of your videos, I can't keep them straight when there's something I want to look back on. Like when you said you did some type of modification to your rear sight-- making it round on the bottom-- I believe? Anyway, what was your suggestion again please? I seem to have the same trouble as you had in seeing it clearly. Thanks, and continued great fun and success.
I have a hard time keeping up with the videos myself....so..last year I created RUclips Playlists according to the type of gun used in the video. I spent 4-5 evenings rearranging them into these groups. If a smoothbore is used, its on the smoothbore playlist. Flintlocks, pistols, percussion, trekking, trade shows, blackpowder tips, Flintlock Female Fun & others are now categorized. Its the only way I can keep up with them too. Maybe that will help you find something. Thanks for watching my friend....
I'd like to meet up with you with my old 62 smoothbore and see if I could give you a run for your money. I love a smoothie. You can do anything with em. Shot ,ball or in a desperate situation you can put rocks in it lol
Hi Mark, I would like to buy my first Smoot bore for hunting, I like the Indian trade musket, or brown bess carbine, but I can't decide between the two of them , what do you think about it?
Both has accuracy out to the 100 yard range. Depending on price & what brand you choose..either will work for you. If you're going after really large game, the BB will definitely drop him due to the massive size of the round ball. . Basically other than the brand you choose, the difference is minimal between using .600 verses a .735 round ball used in the respective guns. I'm quite satisfied with the 62 caliber gun I have. Just pick your favorite one after reading lots of reviews & go out & have GREAT time. The main thing is...you're out burning that powder & that's what its all about.
That must be some pretty nasty soda😆 Try running fishing line just underneath the tab without opening the can and hanging it up. Maybe even swing it for more fun. I don't know if the weight of the soda may pull it open though but worth a SHOT! haha get it shot😁😆😆😆 Love the videos by the way.
I picked that sling up from Mike Eder at facebook.com/FlintlocksLLC/ You can call him at 317-683-5102 & he will ship one right out to you...tell Mike the BPMS said "Hi"....
Pouch is working great. I carry all supplies needed to shoot all 4 guns in that pouch. No more leaving something at home because its in the other pouch! Its pretty neat. Thanks again my friend...
It was filmed back in May 2020 when we were experiencing all that rain. That's the reason for the mud boots & sweater. I agree about shooting the sodas. One gets to keep more teeth in not drinking it...LOL Thanks for watching....

Nice shooting, Mark. Hey, if you shoot diet sodas, the geysers won’t be sticky as there’s no sugar.
