As I am just a guy from Germany, where firearms are treated like demons, I was wondering how carrying a firearm works if you were to cross over into Canada? Would you have to leave it behind somewhere or are you allowed to take it over the border and back? My take on the watch: Put all layers on that you would wear riding, gloves and all, make it all as tight as you would wear it and see which watch feels better on the wrist. They are both tough watches, so ultimately it comes down to your comfort level with them.

If your enter Canada with that pistol it will be seized due to the fact of barrel length and not properly stored. May or may not get a fine for entering the country with a prohibited weapon.

Way too much gear for a 5 day trip. Can you have a campfire where you're going? If so leave behind all the fuel and cooking gear except for a pot and spoon. I would leave behind the camp chair and the ACR also.
You can leave at home: Pistol+Mag (not allowed in Canada) Stove+Tanks (every day you said its planned to refuel somewhere ... if they have fuel they have hot water ... if absolutly neccessary why not use a Petrol Stove you already carry Petrol) Solar Panel (Not efficient enough, gets damaged easy ... just connect your Powerbank inline with your USB Port on the Bike and Phone so no generated Energy is wasted) Leatherman (you have a full Bike Repairset onboard already) I wonder what all the Stuff weights? What is the maximum Weight the Dirt Donkey Bike can carry? Why carry everything alone you ride in a Group ... one can carry a stove the other the tools etc. Ill watch the following Videos for sure :D Sorry for my bad english

You did not mention which glue or tape you will use to keep the rug in place...? Have fun, try to keep the rubber side down. Cheers from Japan!
Hi Cody, too much cooking gas and a solar panel pretty useless in the evening, unless your using it as a neck protector. Watches unnecessary, phone and gps have time and compass. Anyway, dark = sleep, light = ride !!
Wear the TUNA because it will cost alot more to replace/repair the explorer if you smack it on something. And you won't be sacrificing anything by going with the tuna over the rolex
Your Glock will be a problem for you to take into Canada unless you applied to the Canadian government to take it in. Regardless, they do not allow civilians to own or use a handgun with a barrel less than 4.2" in length. I've hunted in Canada a few times, and taking a rifle in is relatively easy. Simply fill out the CA form 909 in triplicate and get the RCMP to inspect your firearm at the border. Incidentally, you might want to make sure you get the US Customs forms to document your property so that you can prove you owned it before you went into Canada. Back to handguns - I wanted to hunt bison with an S&W 500, but found I needed to get the Canadian government permission to take a handgun into Canada. At the time (2014) that process took about 90 days. So, I hope you have made plans to leave your Glock in the US before you cross over into Canada.
Go with the lightest items you have if you're trying to choose. Reminds me of that story of your Grandad biking with all the apples or whatever food it was that he refused to leave behind.
Are you carrying the PM2? What do you think of it? I'm amazed by mine. Black on black SV30... I think the spyderco flick pushes it into fizz territory.
You have to have a special permit to get that gun into Canada, other wise it will be taken and you might go to jail, I am America and Canadian and even I cannot take a pistol into Canada but I can take a hunting rifle with the proper paperwork
Can I sue him? For the hot coffee that went out my nose when he stated the triple cable could charge 3 items at one time! That's not how that cable works. It's so you don't have to carry three cables. One item at a time turned off to properly charge with a solar panel
Brown fabric sports tape, for taping over blisters on your hands. Also, nipple chafe... You can thank me later... I don't get blisters while riding 100km+ enduro days, but 5 days on the bike you never know...
Nice video! I have been trying to get all the gear ready to do the OBCDR. I Carry a small spray bottle with Dawn soap and water, works good for leak checks, lubing tires for mounting, cleaning goggles, and kills ticks, washing dishes. Very handy.
Just watched your 3 year old video about the Benchmade 940. Started watching you about 6 months ago or so. Love the videos and definitely have become a fan of Benchmade based off your reviews. Started with my first pocket knife as a Kershaw leek. Very small but amazingly convenient knife. Recently bought the BladeHQ special edition Blacked Out Bugout. Great knife, super lightweight and the shape of the blade is amazing. I love the axis lock so much that I used it as a fidget spinner. Ended up breaking it so I went to Cabela’s and bought the 940-2 (S30V with G10 handles) while I wait for a replacement. All I have to say is wow. Amazing knife.
The BRS-3000T stove is much smaller, lighter and as good as the MRS pocket rocket you have. Inexpensive too. Look for one. Packs better. Works. Same fuel canister.
If you go into Canada what are you going to do with the Glock. You will not be able to take it into Canada.
I was just going to ask the same question. Handguns are restricted in Canada so it will have to be left American side.
Same! Plus you should have a small am/fm radio some parts of Canada has no cell services. If you happen to get lost at least you'll be able to hear the radio that see if they're even looking for you on the radio.

As to the watch, I don't wear them, as I destroy them, they seem to just get banged up for me, but I'd take the lighter one, the Explorer, might fit better with all your riding gear?
You are going to have a blast, you will hurt in places you forgot you had, but you will build memories that will last a lifetime, colour me green with envy on your trip!
You did not mention which glue or tape you will use to keep the rug in place...?
Have fun, try to keep the rubber side down.
Cheers from Japan!
You could take a much smaller chain lube. That can is massive for such a small trip.
A veteran company called Black Rifle Coffee also makes instant coffee sticks like Starbucks and their coffee is so much better.
Could you Install a cig lighter port to help charge your gadgets
Thanks for the update wranglerstar
Hi Cody, too much cooking gas and a solar panel pretty useless in the evening, unless your using it as a neck protector. Watches unnecessary, phone and gps have time and compass. Anyway, dark = sleep, light = ride !!
Wear the TUNA because it will cost alot more to replace/repair the explorer if you smack it on something. And you won't be sacrificing anything by going with the tuna over the rolex
Forget the handgun unless you want to be fined and go to jail...
if think (if you have time ) you should get rid of the flyer that comes with the tent and buy a good quality compact one
Only suggestion I would add is to bring an extra lens for the goggles!
Go with the lightest items you have if you're trying to choose. Reminds me of that story of your Grandad biking with all the apples or whatever food it was that he refused to leave behind.
Why the glock on a hike.
Awesome. Keep it up. I'd love to do a ride like that one day.
Go with the Tuna. The timing bezel might come in handy too.
don't take you glock to Canada
Are you carrying the PM2? What do you think of it?
I'm amazed by mine. Black on black SV30... I think the spyderco flick pushes it into fizz territory.
Have you checked Washington State hand cary laws. You could encounter problems there as well
Deffo the Rolex, you could raise cash with it if need be 👍👍
Add a mora to that kit light enough and easy enough to carry ditch the glock and stove with 5 bottles of fuel
You have to have a special permit to get that gun into Canada, other wise it will be taken and you might go to jail, I am America and Canadian and even I cannot take a pistol into Canada but I can take a hunting rifle with the proper paperwork
Benadryl is also a good one to carry in case you have a bee sting or allergies.
Can I sue him? For the hot coffee that went out my nose when he stated the triple cable could charge 3 items at one time! That's not how that cable works. It's so you don't have to carry three cables. One item at a time turned off to properly charge with a solar panel
Interesting, not a biker but thought a useful rundown on kit.
You think you can go a whole week without the Benchmade in your pocket?
Which border crossing are you taking? Into which town here in B.C?
Great list of items there
Brown fabric sports tape, for taping over blisters on your hands. Also, nipple chafe... You can thank me later...
I don't get blisters while riding 100km+ enduro days, but 5 days on the bike you never know...
Goodness. You're ready. Thanks for the video
spork to eat with
Cody, take the tent fly, you will be in the PNW, when you are not expecting rain, you know it will rain!
The BRS-3000T stove is much smaller, lighter and as good as the MRS pocket rocket you have. Inexpensive too. Look for one. Packs better. Works. Same fuel canister.
Didn't really hear what he said. What was the subreddit name?
Can we see how you fit it all into the bike and backpack?
no handgun into Canada! looks like you'll be having some fun!
Have fun!
