@@matthewkuhl79 Unless you're buying a 10 plus pound bottle of Nitrous oxide with a mask and inhaling 100% of it you're not in any real danger. It's like with a lot of things. Yeah it _can_ be dangerous, but not as much as what people think. I'd rather them use a tiny ass nitrous cartridge as opposed to huffing the things I saw kids huffing; e.g. computer duster, brake clean.

I was debating Socialism vs Capitalism with a guy on another thread and his Hyperbole reminded me of this song. The "I care about people", " You just want people to struggle", "You want people to suffer" so on. Taking things and assuming your opponent wants the worst and only your idea can possibly work. Came back to this song for the first time in years because of that, got a good laugh.

The "You just want people to die" rhetoric has gone to a whole new level these past 2 years but is as fallacious as ever. There are always trade-offs. Lockdowns may marginally reduce physical disease, but also spread mental health issues and poverty. In the end, it's hard to say whether or not more people died from unintended consequences of the lockdown than were saved. This is especially disturbing when you account for the fact that most people killed by the virus were old with several comorbidity factors and thus had short life expectancy but suicides and poverty primarily kill young people with the potential for long healthy lives ahead of them.
Hm, not that simple tho. Lockdowns are sometimes needed if a pandemic is spreading too quickly, spread can be reduced if people are able to get medical care, but if you do nothing to slow the spread you will get things like what we saw in 2020, cities filled with corpses and people dying in mass completely overflowing medical centers because there is just too many new infected per day. Some countries managed to do it right, new zealand and south korea being examples of how to slow the spread, even then, each case is different and as this particular song very well says you have to find a balance between the effects of a lockdown on people and the economy and those same effects but thanks to people dying in mass because no measures were taken. But as we all probably agree you really can't just go "let's lockdown everything because else people will die!" and expect it to not have consequences, do remember though, that it ain't just grandma who may die from it, as I myself have known people who died due to covid, one of them being a 21 year old with no particular health issues who just happened to win an awful lottery when she got it.
@@SCP-Dr_Bright Covid by itself is worse than the flu. It spreads faster and it is more deadly. As the virus mutates (covid is RNA, so it mutates amazingly quickly) it becomes less lethal but at the same time spreads better. Remember that the flu has a vaccine and it has been with us for a hell of a long time, so it is more widespread both in people who are infected and immune. As for the case for covid or any new pandemic, there is no vaccine available and there are no people who have already had it and are now immune, hence it just goes "raw" per se. It goes on, does it's thing and some people die from complications, when you introduce the vaccine the amount of deaths decreases as more people are immune or can deal better with the virus, while the virus itself in this case has mutated to spread faster but be less lethal, hence mortality rate. Other factors affect too, as a quick mention like what you said with sweden, population density has an effect. Sweden has a very low population density, while a big city does not, hence this affects how fast people are infected and can easily lead to healthcare systems overflowing if not handled correctly.
There's no way NYC just made whipped cream illegal for people under 21. Total copyright infringement

I have been sharing this a lot recently, as it tends to be people's reaction if you bring up economic concerns about how COVID19 is being handled.
I give people the tragically large suicide rate if the pull that but it never seems to register. It never dawns on them they care so much about a death from one cause but don't give a hoot about any other types of death.
Just had someone unfriend me for "trolling" them. They spout extreme and incredibly one-sided (if not ignorant) positions from their social media account and then feel like anyone that disagrees is a "troll"

But at 20 trillion in debt, we have to start abolishing entire departments. I vote for abolishment of the education department. Education should be local, not mandates from central government.
