Many thanks for that sleeve trick. I used my hand sledge with a demo bar today to flatten that center sleeve crimp and it saved my day. Much appreciated.
Glad to hear it all worked out!
After searching for this very simple fix-it on YT, this is the first I found on how to do it. Easy peezy.
Yepper,.. thanks for viewing
That's a handy tip which looks easy to implement in the field. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, it is very useful in the middle of a fence line for sure,.. Thanks for viewing
You should have never shown how you did your magic trick. :-). I’m sure you just saved many professional home owners a new cool trick. Thanks for showing your trade secret.
Someone cut my fence & burglarized my house. They made a mess of my fence. This tip will help repair the fence. Thank you!
Your welcome,.. hope it helps out as much as it has for others,.. just saved you a load of money, now you can take your wife out to dinner, if you are married.
Hello,
I’d like to ask for your advice. I have a fence with 19 terminal posts in a straight line. The terminal posts are 2-3/8” inches and 6ft tall above the ground. They are embedded 24 inches down in concrete. Approximately 15 of these posts are not plumb. They are slightly not level. Approximately 5 degrees off. I have a top rail going. I have also a top rail bar that is tension banded between all of these posts. My worry is that over time the terminal posts will continue to tilt. Should I correct them now or is it not worth the effort? What kind of lifespan can I expect if they are going to continue to tilt? Thank you in advanced.
Great
Good video , I've done the same , when i get my sleeve where i want it I screw a sheet metal screw into the sleeve
Thanks,..I haven't thought about that, I just put a tie on either side of the slip sleeve to hold it in place
Where can I purchase the "slip sleeves"? And are they available in different pole diameters?
Larry,..these are the regular sleeves that you can purchase at any ma and pa chain link fence outift that sells to the public. All I doo is pound out the rounded divet in the middle to allow the sleeve to slip over the rail. Normally sleeves come in two standard sixes that fit the 1-5/8" or the 1-3/8" top rail for chain link fence. Hope that helps,..thanks for checking out the video,..keep smiling!
Beautifuly done
Thanks,..
What if the top pole diameter is bigger then the replacement?
Well preparation, from I 've been told is 95% of the job. Probably should be prepared for both, have enough supplies on hand for either situation, it is a repair,.. thanks for viewing

Not much of a magic trick. Yes it does work but looks like crap. I'm not sure I'd want to pay you for this job. Much better is a 1 foot or so of 1-1/2 inch pipe inside (assuming the pipe is 1-5/8) Then center punch 4 areas of the long pipe on each side of the splice so it's snug. You could also apply a little glue to the inside, but it's really not needed.
Thanks for your opinion,.. and viewing. Keep smiling!
