How bout everyone be quiet and just be happy for his work ethic? Is that so hard? A young guy w his wife starting out getting his business going? Hey buddy,
I just felt like I should tell you something... Never raise that brush hog up and then tilt it down so you can see the underside with the blades engaged; if there happens to be a stick caught under it, it can throw it towards you. I've done it a time or two but I stopped after I saw my friend do it. A stick came at him (about 100 mph), just barely grazed his side and stuck in the seat. It would have went right through him if it had been a few inches to the left. Also when you raise it up to come down on brush, always have the front tilted up, never have the front tilted down if your brush hog is in the air or it can throw stuff at you. Just wanted to tell you that, I would hate to see something bad happen to you! God Bless... 🙂

It won’t, however it will give you an opportunity to potentially survive the situation. Definitely not ideal but better than nothing. For those attachments and mulcher attachments you truly need skid-steers equipped with forestry packages. There are numerous safety add-ons equipped on those models, including one I didn’t think of prior, but a simple fire extinguisher due to heat build up with small shavings.

I'm sure you will get better with time; hope you make it. When I started, I looked at every job like it was my property and I was paying for it. You seem to have a great attitude just not much experience. And just a word of caution that is pretty dangerous with an open cab machine. I got stung 28 times after hitting a nest. Good job, young fella. You got it done and got paid. Can't take anything away from your accomplishment. However, your equipment isn't rated for forrestry work, which is what that job consisted of. Safety wise, it isnt advisable to not have an enclosed cab. Bees were the least of the danger. Couple bits of feedback - you buy economy equipment you have to factor that into the work being performed, can't be using the low quality blade to grind up 3-6 inch saplings, you'll be breaking them all day long. One thing I do is buy the cheap unit but quality blades. Hydraulics are pretty much binary they work or they leak, but as you mentioned, steel can vary wildly in quality.
Second, I like real sounds so I might suggest you forego the elevator music and just have the raw audio. I realize it's sped up video but you can play regular speed audio alongside it - yeah it won't quite match but you'll still be adding that realistic ambience, kind of ASMR style. Heck trim this video down but then have an alternate ASMR version where it's like 2 hours of interesting clips but the live audio track.
Glad you're doing well there, good luck to you!

In Central TX is about 3K p/acree for skidsteer mulcher, I can rent a trac-forestry mulcher for 3K per day with operator and 900 transport fee.
Alternatives, backhoe which sucks due to time to put it in place , or acquire a big 4 ton or larger Excavator. Heck if I could have gotten a CAT318, I could have done my property and the next property in maybe 2-3 days and have a skidsteer come in to level it out.

There are cheap option in the 22k-30k range for a Mulcher head that would do a great job you don’t need to spend 60,000 on one try feacon brand they usually will give you a better deal than that.

I would be interested in how you priced this job. If you actually got $10k for that then you scored.
Most importantly though is your safety. You should get a poly door for you machine especially since you're raising the deck up while cutting. Something bad will eventually happen and you will get hurt. Use some of that money to get a poly door. And eventually get a quality cutter, leave the Chinese stuff alone.
That's positive feed back. Some people are saying there's too much negative comments but they haven't said anything about the danger you're in with no bulletproof door.
    Take Care.

    • @EntreprenuerDavis

It all depends on what the customer wants done I usually do for mulching atleast 1500 per acre and for brush clearing I charge 1000 per acre I charged this much for this job because he wanted large trees removed as well but the most important thing you have to remember you have to charge prices according to your market and according to your business.

All business have different expenses which determines the price they can bid a job out but the base number that you should try to stay near to stay profitable are the numbers I listed above to cover if your machine goes down or something goes wrong and to make a handsome profit if everything goes to plan.
