I have had a skid steer business in Central Florida for about 10 years. I can tell you to be fair in your quotes and do a good job. Customers will call you back for more work and refer you to their friends. I do not advertise and stay busy. Just word of mouth. You need to work on your grading skills but that will come with time in the seat. Good luck with your business.
Be careful and realize that adding bigger bucket also adds weight to what you’re towing on an already struggling truck considering you stated it squats. When you load your equipment try to position where it is as level as possible and also verify all your gvw. If you are stopped and you’re over it potentially can lead to massive fines not to mention a huge safety concern. Also for the trailer try not to have to much weight on the tongue, this is better than to much on the rear of the trailer (this can lead to fishtailing). After fishtailing three swings it’s common for a vehicle to overturn. Keep up the drive!
I would say you did good ! Absolutely should have a bucket at a minimum as wide as your tracks. The bucket you have on there would be good for digging or rock . A smooth lip bucket leaves a nice finish when backtracking. Air bags or Timbren load leveler will help your truck suspension. They make a hitch that has a scale under the ball. You want to have a good positive weight on the tounge. But not too much . Never want to be neutral balanced or rear end heavy. I haul my skidsteer bucket forward. When I drive onto the trailer, I watch how much the truck squats. . Lots of vids on trailering skidsteers. Praise God !!! In everything give thanks to Him ! Great video !

I've done a lot of demo in my days, all I'd say (especially with the attachement hammer) is get some thin plywood in front of those windows. It could have been a pricey one 😉
You were asking about the truck squatting under load. I install airlift 5000 air bags in my trucks and they work great! Get the compressor too. Without it you wind up not using them when you need them because its a pain to get air.
How to eliminate squat: Get a bigger truck... Lol All seriousness, I'd either bag the truck or get a dually with a tow package. Keep up the great work and continue to share the Gospel!
They had a 550 at the tree company with tow haul button saves on transmission after a while you can judge the weight on your truck dot loves truck driver any more don't care who if a dollar to be made and a slow day just make sure all lights are working on truck and trailer 10:34 10:35
Great Job. Continue doing good work and being fair to all your customers. Allow for machine repair and replacement value in your pricing. Keep Giving God Praise.
You're on the right track with your business and thank-you so much for spreading the gospel message! One thing I will recommend, when calculating how your project performed you should calculate your equipment plus labor as an expense (example: Total hours 10 x $75/hr (Skid Steer @ $50/hr + Labor @ $25/hr) = $750). Then when you add to all other expenses and subtract from the total amount the project brings in, you have your Gross Profit. I think you will be very successful in your career, so a higher level of tracking project costs should start now. God Bless You!
Good idea. However, your suggestion does not include profit. I might use your equation as if I were paying an employee $25 hour. Then add your profit on top. Otherwise you might as well get a job making $25 hour without all the headaches of running a business.
I think that you did an awesome job young man. you got the job done well and safe there is always little over sees in any project only thing I would do differently is bend the rebar over for safety and cover the windows with 1/2 plywood for property protection love your send off message
Love your spirit man!!!! You are a hard worker and are willing to go through the learning process. Yes,,, you could have made more on that, and if you don't, you hurt the industry. So there's that to think about. You don't want to be in a race to the bottom to get a job because then everyone will expect it of you while at the same time making everyone else doing this lower their prices. I've seen this DESTROY an industry too quickly. Hard NOT to do, but think long term. I think you're on the right track, just be patient and maintain your integrity. The rest WILL come! Much love to you and what you are doing man. Respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Air bags 100% been running two Firestone units for years with no issues. Helper springs are cool until you’re driving unloaded and your truck is overly stiff. Airbags are adjustable on a per load basis so you’re always riding secured and level no matter your load.
New Subscriber here 🤟🏼 Keep up the good work fella and those Blessings at the end of you vids. I was gonna say airbags but I see you know that now…but will add…until you get a bigger bucket, I would have raked his dirt, just to smooth it out and blend it in a bit, plus it would hide the small remnants of old concrete dust. Don’t forget to sweep that street off and place cones and signs out when on roadways. God Bless you and your business! 🙏
As for the truck when you asked for suggestions to what might help with the squatting of your truck, I had a Ford F-250 Turbo Diesel and i now have a Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax diesel and on both of them i added a set of Firestone 5000 pound air bags which truly make a huge difference!!! I’m always hauling heavy trailers whether it be the fifth wheel travel trailers I’ve had with the biggest one being 14,400 pounds empty, so that’s with no tools or even water in the tanks for drinking or washing dishes and right now I’m usually hauling a work trailer that is a 47 foot gooseneck with a tri-axle and the neck itself is ten feet long so it leaves me 37 feet long of trailer space which I use to haul my Kubota tractor over the axles and I usually load the front with cedar logs to keep feeding my sawmill but it’s just an example of some of the big and heavy trailers I’m hauling and the airbags make all the difference in the world! I have a compressor tucked in behind the back seat and a compressor gauge on board underneath my dash that allows me to add air or deflate the bags on the fly and no matter what I’m towing, that extra lift it gives me has people no longer flicking their headlights off and on at me because I’m not blinding them anymore because without the air bags; they always thought i had my high beams on after dark….; anyways, for both trucks it really helped level out my truck and i am able to adjust them to whatever amount i need depending on what I’m hauling at the time and everything including installing by the dealership was less than $2000 Canadian dollars but it would definitely solve your issues with squatting…. My gooseneck alone weighs 6000+ pounds empty and the fifth wheel travel trailer was a 44 foot long trailer and was 14,400 empty but the gooseneck allows me to haul my subcompact Kubota L3240 with the 72” bucket and loader and whatever implements I happen to have on the back at the time, during the spring/summer and fall seasons it’s usually a log skidding winch and during the winter it’s a 72” snowblower on the back but the tractor with loader and whatever rear attachment is approximately 5500 pounds plus the cedar logs that are usually 16-17 foot long logs in front has me well around the 15,000 pound range or over no matter which trailer and the airbag system has my truck sitting straight and riding comfortably and nobody thinks I’m driving around with my high beams on at night blinding everyone…., just a suggestion and hope it helps! Keep doing what you’re doing! Nice to see the work ethic and the hustle you have…; congrats on being your best self!
You need to install airbags on the back and that will hold the weight up. That's what I had to do on my 2022 Chevy 2500 HD diesel for hauling my skidsteer
I have a property maintenance company and I charge 250. per hr for skid work plus any materials I need for the job. I hope you busted up the bottum of the pool for drainage that pool could hold water, also the dirt you put in the pool will settle so the guy might call you down the road to add more dirt.. Airbags for sure on your truck..
Yeah I put holes in the bottom of the pool for drainage and the guy is having pavers put in on top of the pool area and his whole back yard and I will look into getting airbags
Thanks for sharing your video I've learned a lot from this video and I'm planning on starting my own business when I'm released from prison keep the content coming and the positives motivation
does your contract say 250 per hour or do you give the owner a bid with a total price already on it? as a concrete contractor i give a total price and if i go over, i have to eat it.
@@blackdiamondrob When Charging Jobs by the hour I use to have a 3 hour minimum. Im not moving my equipment across town for one hour of work. Hourly charge with a 3 hour min.
I'm curious what precautions did you take to make sure water doesn't gather in that old pool? Because whatever dirt you put into the pool will likely clog the drain. So unless you broke up some of the floor of the pool so water can return to the ground, I would think you might have a problem on your hands down the road and probably a call back from the customer wanting you to fix it either for free or at such a reduced price you'll lose alot of money, either way definitely not good.
I'm curious if you took a deposit, and if so, how much? Also, how/when did the customer make the final payment? Did he sign anything to authorize the work and guarantee payment?
You might want to consider air shocks in the rear of your truck. They will lift up the rear end to where you want it. Keep up the good work Man of God.
@EntreprenuerDavis I had airbags for moving a 38' camper a few years back with a 2500 ram. It had the engine for it, but suspension needed help. It was a night and day difference. So happy with the upgrade
Those numbers are doable-Take away the $500 for jack hammer rental-the $130 home depot hammer rental and all the time wasted running them down and the time picking up dirt when u had to have 18ton delivered anyway -then had to take time to get rid of the extra dirt-- 1 day job easily if all these are eliminated plus alot more profit.. To me its all about your time and managing it - There are enough things that can go left without us creating time sucking issues- im the worlds worse at that! You do like i do - Prepare by dropping equipment off day before and putting alot of thought onto it - I overthink alot of jobs and it usually works out in my favor as far as time management and if it dont then i LEARN from it.. Great video young man🤑
@@EntreprenuerDavis Well u would have to weigh how much you need one vs what one cost. Get yourself a set of super springs. We use them on tow truck from all that weight hanging off the back. More reliable than airbags. Look them up I’m sure you’ll like how they perform.
I would have been at $4000. Also where you get the dirt at. Here in Tennessee that’s good here. Dirt is at least single axle load $250 per load. Always sale the extra you don’t need
Better start thinking about getting your cdl license bigger truck more weight my Nephew started his business he’s doing very well here in Texas there’s so much a single wheel truck can haul
I know this is 5mnths old but if you see this consider this. Buy the tools you need for new jobs regardless (such as this hammer) its called expanding/investing your business. Few reasons: 1 it's a write off for company expenses which will lower your taxable income and the other reason is simple 2 once you have it you can do more jobs that require it (other opportunities such as driveway demos) AND 3 you could rent it out for cheaper than the guy you are renting from when you aren't using it. More profit to pay it off. And if by chance you want to expand into another business you can invest in other rentable tools and you be THAT guy to rent from. Be well. Peace be unto you!
I would try and compact the soil in lifts.. I mean I guess it’s not a huge deal on something like this but it’s likely that a few months down the road and the customer will have some significant settling..around the hole you filled in. Which you could just come back and fill it in again if he wanted or at least to let the customer know ahead of time to expect some settlement.
Add some airbags, bro it’ll give you the opportunity to change psi and there’s an app that you can use on your phone as well. There’s like a remote control that comes with the whole set up.
airbags or replace your factory bump stops, they’re about the same in the price but bump stops are less maintenance. look up Timbren and you’ll see them
Definitely get an auto air lift system. Thats what I run on my truck. And get some rear drop leg jacks for that ironbull so you don’t keep destroying the back of the trailer when loading heavy equipment. The trailer should already have the pockets for it.
Yeah I’ve been looking into the air lift system and also I definitely need those jacks for my trailer because you are right in the back of my trailer it’s getting damaged.
I've never done skid steer work or excavation but if you only worked like 10 total hours that's like 200 an hour so after expenses I think you made out pretty good you made great profit and the customer liked the price

So unless you broke up some of the floor of the pool so water can return to the ground, I would think you might have a problem on your hands down the road and probably a call back from the customer wanting you to fix it either for free or at such a reduced price you'll lose alot of money, either way definitely not good.
@@rowdybroomstick6394 I jackhammered the floor of the pool with a jack hammer lol cmon man everyone knows this 😂😂
I'm curious if you took a deposit, and if so, how much? Also, how/when did the customer make the final payment? Did he sign anything to authorize the work and guarantee payment?
Her yourself a helper leaf for the leaf springs on the truck. Doesn't affect the ride but helps the sag. Airbags next but a lot more expensive
I need this honestly
You might want to consider air shocks in the rear of your truck. They will lift up the rear end to where you want it. Keep up the good work Man of God.
I definitely will consider some airbags
@EntreprenuerDavis I had airbags for moving a 38' camper a few years back with a 2500 ram. It had the engine for it, but suspension needed help. It was a night and day difference. So happy with the upgrade
@@nickc7320 I am going to be getting some shortly
Great video !!!!
Thanks man 🙏🏾
I put airbags on my dually to mitigate squat on the rear end
I definitely will invest in them soon
Great video young man🤑
Thank you for your comment and advice would you suggest I buy the jack hammer attachment?
@@EntreprenuerDavis Well u would have to weigh how much you need one vs what one cost. When i buy attachments I always buy HD Always buy attachment designed for my machine and bigger - where my machine will run it on the low side but a bigger machine will run it better- With that being said it puts me in a spot that WHEN i upgrade my skid steer then all my attachments are good to go - So i only have to buy each attachment 1 time for life
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 makes sense and I’ve had my run around with the Chinese attachments I will never again get cheap attachments I will get used but never cheap again and I will weigh the pros and cons
@@EntreprenuerDavis right the last bucket i bought in November was $2200 for just a tooth bucket - Man My Svl75-3 can not bend it- warp it - its a beast.
I Bought a used power rake from Quick attach $8k.
A Hd Brush cutter/mulcher from MTL for $10k - A grapple bucket from MTL $3500-and i use it more than anything! had it for 5 years no issues!
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 yeah I’ve seen how good of a brand MTL is I’ve been thinking about buying there brush cutter things a beast
God bless you for the word I don’t know you personally but me and you believe the Sam way your channel is a great inspiration keep up great work god bless you
Thank you God Bless you as well🙏🏾
Throw some air shocks on the n back of your truck. You can add air when it squats...you can raise it up.
Looking into it now
The airbags are good with the squat issue
Already looking into getting them
What happens when they have 100 year flood and that swimming pool concrete that you left in the ground fills up with water? Or did I miss you putting some sort of geotextile to keep rainwater out? Or was there some sort of drainage holes that I missed?
@@sixriversexcavation I didn’t put it in the video but I took the jack hammer and jack hammered the bottom of the pool up and put a bunch of holes in it
Get yourself a set of super springs. We use them on tow truck from all that weight hanging off the back. More reliable than airbags. Look them up I’m sure you’ll like how they perform.
I will definitely be looking into them 🙏🏾
I think you should have used a plate compactor as the finishing touch. Looks so much better than leaving with track marks over the dirt.
Yup already start looking into it honestly and your definitely right
You could try installing towing bags? Or convert the back to a dually probably not cheap but just an idea
I’m looking into getting airbags now
Coil over shocks it helps with loads
WHAT A GREAT VIDEO KEEP IT UP❤
Thanks man I appreciate your comment
Put some air bags under the rear. I retired from hauling RV’s across the country. Air ride suspension is the way to go!
I’ll take a look at air ride for sure
He was getting pavers in his entire backyard
@@EntreprenuerDavis well there you go. You got it!
Could I ask where you got debris? Because you didn’t say about cost for it.
What do you mean by debris?
@@EntreprenuerDavis you broke all concrete, where did you get all these parts, stones etc?
when jackhammering near windows use plywood to cover the windows so if anything flys. it won’t break the windows
Noted I will keep this in mind for my next job thanks for the advice
Love the ending message is solid..god bless you brother
God bless you as well man🙏🏾
Add some airbags, bro it’ll give you the opportunity to change psi and there’s an app that you can use on your phone as well. There’s like a remote control that comes with the whole set up.
U need take to spring shop an add more springs to the back an tell them u don’t want it drop a inch
Adjustable Air shock system. You can go cheap with just the air valve in a convenient spot. Best is having remote controlled compressor onboard.
airbags or replace your factory bump stops, they’re about the same in the price but bump stops are less maintenance. look up Timbren and you’ll see them
I’ll look into the bump stops
You can put in air bags on your truck and a compressor, fill them when you are loaded and it won't squat and will ride smoother
I am looking into getting them now
@EntreprenuerDavis that's good man, hope it helps. Love the videos, will be getting my own skid steer soon, i will keep watching your videos.
Sumo springs can help with the swatting.
I’ll look into them I haven’t heard of them before though
Weigh distribution hitch might help
Awesome, : )
Thank you man!
SD truck spring upgrade springs to 350hd or 450 springs for a stronger more reliable ride. Or do air bags if you don't haul with it that serious.
I haul my skid and excavator so I think I’ll get the springs
air bags for the truck drop, remote control.
I use air bags for my f350 single wheel
stronger leaf springs for the rear of your truck or get air bags installed!
I will look into getting that done
Definitely get an auto air lift system. Thats what I run on my truck. And get some rear drop leg jacks for that ironbull so you don’t keep destroying the back of the trailer when loading heavy equipment. The trailer should already have the pockets for it.
Yeah I’ve been looking into the air lift system and also I definitely need those jacks for my trailer because you are right in the back of my trailer it’s getting damaged.
Amen!
🙏🏾🙏🏾
I've never done skid steer work or excavation but if you only worked like 10 total hours that's like 200 an hour so after expenses I think you made out pretty good you made great profit and the customer liked the price
Thank you 🙏🏾
Airbags forsure will help
I didn't read through the comments but to help with the truck squatting. Air bags, brother
