@@minnesotarc7964 that's why it always pays to have your property surveyed by professionals licensed in this. From experience, best to put a rock over that stake because heaven forbid the lawn mower catches it and then dad is in a tizzy over the damage to the lawn mower blade - I learned that at the age of eight
wood stakes mean nothing. Anyone contracting for a job like this needs to know where the true land boundaries are or better have good liability insurance before proceeding

As you have discovered the hard way - when cutting along property lines make sure where the lot lines are located. If the boundary markers are not readily visible have the person you are working for mark the line. In some state cutting material on another person's property is a criminal offense even if it is brush.
Not criminal, but a civil offense with heavy restitution fees and fines if on a protected habitat. It would only be criminal if you trespassed without any permission. Property lines without fencing to indicate the line are commonly crossed during clearing operations.
Gonna hae to say that JCB is a good tool and British :) love it, also what a great job clearing the bruch and leaving great trees to survive better, well done and my first vid of yours be safe from the England

Sometimes I feel like people are looking for an excuse to complain and will jump at the opportunity. Anyway you did your part and did it well
It is always the contractors responsibility to have all of his ducks in a row. Especially when you are clearing property that can not be replaced easily.
The problem with prior communication is this…… land owner tells his neighbor he wants to pay to have property line cleared. Neighbor thinks he means responsible company that comes out and cuts brush, maybe dozes it smooth, and for sure cleans up the mess…… so he says sure. Then the reality becomes a skid steer grinder that throws that stuff everywhere and leaves a huge mess. That is when it goes south.

Property lines are often disputed, even with a a certified servoy you can get disputes, the fact both property owners had any discussions from the start is amazing because it dosnt always happen. However because there is no defining marks to show who owns what you as a contractor could only use GPS maps and these can be as far as 5 feet off becuse as the sat that takes the pictures are not stright over the property line its taken at an angle. If you look at these maps year to year on a city or county property webpage youll see the maps lines change and if you look at the shadows it kinda shows how stright the picture was taken. You cant trust these maps to be accurate they are not. The one grace he had was the telephone pole but it stoped anything 10' of either side on an easment can be clear cut and neither property owner can say shit about it.
I would trim but keep the tree line. Thats a massive change, why would rhe owner want it gone just to view the neighbors property? Am i missing something?
In that rural setting I would prefer the vegetation to remain providing a screening / privacy barrier. It seems unnecessary to go to those extremes in that wide open setting.

I understand the neighbor's anger. Those trees provided shade and some privacy that's now gone. I had lived next door to a couple for many years. My room at the back of the house has large windows that were blocked from view by their enormous bushes. I never gave the bushes a second thought until a younger couple bought their house and proceded to cut back a signigficant portion of the bushes(they've never had a garage there). Now anyone walking down the alley, that allows us access to our garages behind the house, has a clear view into my family room. It's discomforting to be sitting and watching TV while people walk past and stare into the house. I've since planted a couple flowering trees in my yard along the fence that separates our properties. It will be a long while before we have our privacy again.🤨
It's your failure for assuming your neighbor's plants would always be there for your privacy. The only one to blame for your current predicament is yourself!
@@randomguy1787 That is also true. But there is no reason to tear out perfectly good trees & shrubs just to create even more utterly useless lawn & lack of privacy - even for themselves.

One cool part about living next to the golf course is they do all the lawn maintenance all the time, and it looks fantastic / also living next to a park or an area that is in a flood zone. I've always said "fences make good neighbors" because it sets solid boundaries.
A fence never stopped a neighbor from being an a*hole. There are enough lawyers who can prove this for you - unfortunately not free of charge.
“Good fences make good neighbors” appears in Robert Frost's 1914 poem “Mending Wall”. (For you literary buffs).
A fence is the most practically solution. A hedge is nicer but needs a binding agreement on equal share of cost and maintenance by the neighbors .
As long as the fence is on the true boundary and not offset onto one property or the other because they didn't want to deal with the other property owner. Always work off survey markers.
That is a beautiful hedge row that looks well trimmed on the edges. I can't imagine why the owner would want to remove it.
Because he hates nature and want a death area like the lawn. A creek with a hedge of 5-10m (30-60') is the best you can do for nature.

that's why it always pays to have your property surveyed by professionals licensed in this. In Ohio, it's illegal to remove property stakes that are driven into the ground by a licensed surveyor; not some wooden stakes, those mean nothing.
I enjoyed the video, the arial shots really add.
That looks amazing and in a few years that overgrowth will be back no problem… we have had a few properties that needed this done to and I am always surprised that within 3 to 4 years if left alone it all back and sometimes with a vengeance... Great job sir! I am a little envious of that cool piece of equipment and it's power!
That is amazing what you and your machine can do. I wish you lived near me!
Have to say, I thought it looked way better with the greenery than dead brown.
You realize it grows back right? In my experience it grows back really FAST when it is that close to water.
You may find curious as well that projects can take multiple steps. This was the first one. Now take that imagination and put to use.
Didnt they say at beginning they are going to mulch it after hes done
The green will be back very soon.
Gee, a nice layer of mulch where you once had green trees and bushes…
As you have discovered the hard way - when cutting along property lines make sure where the lot lines are located. If the boundary markers are not readily visible have the person you are working for mark the line. In some state cutting material on another person's property is a criminal offense even if it is brush.
Not criminal, but a civil offense with heavy restitution fees and fines if on a protected habitat. It would only be criminal if you trespassed without any permission. Property lines without fencing to indicate the line are commonly crossed during clearing operations.
Why do you make this?
looked way better before. nice natural privacy barrier between the two properties that attracts birds and wildlife.
First time watching one of your vids...the high five at the intro was a nice touch. Neat vid and the overhead perspective was really cool.
Last thing I’d want is a view of my neighbors house
Maybe one of his neighbors is a hot young woman.
I had my neighbor clear right up to my property linen. And they leave the lights on all night 😢😢
Last thing I'd want is the neighbors having a view of my house!
@@JohnDoe-ld8nr Most of us wouldn't even care to find out. You outted yourself as a creep bad bud.
@@JohnDoe-ld8nrMaybe that hot woman wants nothing to do with that old creep 🤦♀️
Gonna hae to say that JCB is a good tool and British :) love it, also what a great job clearing the bruch and leaving great trees to survive better, well done and my first vid of yours be safe from the England
Deine Maschine ist echt praktisch, tolles teil ❤😊
Camera angles and drone footage along with parts of video time-sped were good in my opinion. Yeah, always that one neighbor who just won't be pleased. He'll need a privacy fence. 👍
Lance you did a great job and you handled the situation very well. It isn't your fault that those people didn't properly communicate ahead of time on the boundaries. Sometimes I feel like people are looking for an excuse to complain and will jump at the opportunity. Anyway you did your part and did it well
Thank you!
He is at fault for not going through the right channel’s ,it is always the contractor’ responsibility!!
Where are You Located Mr. Honeycutt?
It is always the contractors responsibility to have all of his ducks in a row. Especially when you are clearing property that can not be replaced easily.
The problem with prior communication is this…… land owner tells his neighbor he wants to pay to have property line cleared. Neighbor thinks he means responsible company that comes out and cuts brush, maybe dozes it smooth, and for sure cleans up the mess…… so he says sure. Then the reality becomes a skid steer grinder that throws that stuff everywhere and leaves a huge mess. That is when it goes south.
Nice job, (and cool piece of equipment)! Really looks a lot better.
Where I live...people would be living in the trees. Hundreds of them in tents.
Keep the tall trees, clear the shrubs, raise the canopy so no one can be underneath without being seen.
Agree. Clear the shrubs and canopies. Then there is more room for tents. You really think the vermin care if they're seen?
@@Jay-od3fh they aren't vermin, near me, they are working families with kids. And even a working physical therapist, who cant afford the rents, lives there in a tent, and college kids who cant afford a place to live while going to school. Just poor working class.
I'm sure the homeless are moving to the middle of nowhere acreage to live in the trees or the tents.
Thanks for the good videos. Good job. Be safe.
Dang shame to tear down so much green.
Nice attitude about your channel. You earned my subscription.
Awesome work! Night and day difference.
Great job, well done . Just subbed .. hi from Australia
1st time i've seen your site but will watch it with interest.
I hate to see changes made to serve a person’s idea of “cleaning up” a natural growth system that serves the wildlife and water support. I totally get cleaning up undergrowth but not to the extent the natural water source dries up. Yup, to each his own…there’s probably a resolution to an issue we don’t see. You have done a really good job keeping it as natural as possible. Thank you for sharing your story as well.
I’ve had the same situation , my neighbors cleared to the property line and the got mad when I did, he said they lost their privacy? I asked why didn’t they leave trees on their own land,
I wouldn't worry about the neighbors...you did a good job 👍
Woods and not seeing the neighbors is the best…this guys plan is perplexing to me but like someone else said “diff strokes…” and all that
Edit: it does look good at the end with the brush gone. I thought he was gutting all the trees as well so this is not as bad as I thought.
Nice Job! As long as you are on property boundaries ROCK ON! The owner of the property is the boss not the neighbor who is losing his privacy!
Great job Lance!!!!
In that rural setting I would prefer the vegetation to remain providing a screening / privacy barrier. It seems unnecessary to go to those extremes in that wide open setting.
Great job. Tell people earlier there is bonus before/after shots so they don't click off too soon. I wanted to see your inside the cab view of the mulching. Show your machine too. The teeth on that looked pretty cool from a distance. Why is watching mulching so addicting! LOL
Great job!! This spring (2024) when the grass is green, and kept cut, it will look like a million bucks.Throw in a couple of picnic tables among the trees and the homeowner can enjoy the area in the summer. Well done!
Look at the beautiful before and the ugly, ugly after. What would possess someone to want to “clean out “ all of the beautiful greenery?
Awesome job. Once the grass grows under the trees it will be a nice place for a picnic.
Looks amazing! Great job!
I’m sure a lot of birds and animals will now have to find new homes. Too bad ! A natural sanctuary was a nice addition to the landscape and the view. I would not like living there as much .
Been there done that! Thankfully the neighbor was willing to work with the situation...
Yes, southern hospitality definitely prevailed on this one. Keep up the great videos, I watch them every night before I go to bed!
I’d prefer the privacy and somewhat security of the grown tree-line over the easily walked through area…but that’s just me.
I like the way you handled the neighbor, de escalation is a rare talent these days, good on you.
“A soft answer turns away wrath”.
Yep. Had a fench row of lilacs across the whole back fence line. Beautiful natural privacy fence. Went for a week vacation. WHAM!!! The neighbors behind us cut the whole fence line out. Even cut the fence to remove root... ?? Sad people are like this .
Great work man…I’d like to see some footage from inside the cab. As in from your perspective. 👍🏽
Dude it looks great. Good work. Risky business getting so close to the line from the telephone pole at the beginning. I would of been in there with my hands & saw to clear a 3-4ft radius before I went in with my machine. You did excellent work.
I run a landscaping business, and always want to do more (the leftover vines hanging in the trees, etc, -- but, you got done what the customer needed. Well done brother!!
I absolutely love that nice look of the woods rather than the crowded overgrowth that gave the trees no room to be their best .It was originally a jam packed confusion of stuff .
I recently started playing Farming Simulator 25 and I run this exact equipment. It's amazing how similar the two are. Nice work! I'm sure the neighbor was happy once he cooled off.
The after picture is much more beautiful. Created a nice area for family gatherings and picnic like area.
Looks very nice. Makes it more available for those trees to grow bigger and stronger without all the under brush......We did the same and now we have more wildlife coming and going.
Awesome work and great video footage 👏 Thanks for explaining the situation very helpful and for others to learn from it. Thanks again
Simply amazing piece of equipment. Great video and great work.
you have to clear out the underbrush, dead, and insignificant trees to maintain the tree canopy. Great job and thank you for sharing!
Lovely work. perhaps they will use the open space to have Flowers or other blooming bushes once the mulch is cleaned up!
good stuff. you can show all the tree grinding footage. no matter how long i would watch it all.
Nice job cleaning up the mess, and by mulching the foliage you are helping with erosion. Just as good as mulch which it is now. Keep up the good work and expecialy with your real job as assistant principal.
That was so relaxing to watch….my wife was dumbfounded that I spent 20 min watching and loved it.
because he did in 20min what could a man by hand 2 months to do by hand ... seems relaxing to me
@@MatthewSmith-cp3hu I know I would have done all that work and dug a large ditch all by hand in a matter of a few weeks at the very very most! 2 months?? 😂
Put it on 2x and it is only 10 mins. ;)
The music chosen was pretty good!
It is definitely a guy thing,/. My sweetie does not understand when I see an awesome car. That sounds fantastic. I roll the windows down to listen to it. She says you are so crazy.
I don't know how this came up but whichever way you prefer that is one crazy machine! It even cleans up, and where is it all going? You sound like a great negotiator and peacekeeper too. I like the scrub brush gone and trees left.
An amazing transformation in such a short time. I'm surprised the neighbor complained.
Always keep the audio rolling when dealing with other people, than who contacted you. Keeps a good account of what happened
Повесьте шторы. Соседи делают со своими растениями, что захотят.
@@randomguy1787 That is also true. But there is no reason to tear out perfectly good trees & shrubs just to create even more utterly useless lawn & lack of privacy - even for themselves.
I saw him cutting back mostly bushes and some small trees, the leaving all the larger trees! I like the look all cleaned up and now they can do whatever creek work is needed!
It was an unkept mess, looks good. Now it can be organized with a plan.
Another great job.
Very nice video and a very professional clearing result. Best wishes in your future endeavors.
Thank you!
The trees and bushes were so pretty 😢 Took all the privacy away,I can see why u dont have many jobs. I wouldnt hire u to butcher my yard...
I think the cleaned up job looks great!! It will looks real nice next year at this time.
Just me I guess, but I liked the before so much more than the after. Generally, it s so much better environmentally too.
I've seen this kind of things where people move out to the country and want to transform it to look like the suburbia where they used to live. If you move to the country and want to see a 20 acre lawn, buy something next to a golf course!
Agree. It's not just you! I see this and can't help but feel upset. Birds nests and nesting sites were destroyed because people have been made to believe this area didn't look good before it was cleared.
@@greymomma It has a lot of impacts including wildlife. It cause changes to wind patterns, erosion, temperature changes etc, These kinds of wind rows with trees eat up a lot of CO2 also.
+1. The natural buffer was nice!
One cool part about living next to the golf course is they do all the lawn maintenance all the time, and it looks fantastic / also living next to a park or an area that is in a flood zone. They won't allow you to build a house there, but the city or county has to maintain the property and keep it mode, and you are guaranteed not to have loud and noisy neighbors
We're Honeycutt's from North Carolina. Currently in Florida. I'm happy to see the name on men that are doing well. God bless you and your family.
Thanks Adam!
the butched look and loss of privacy and loss of habitat for wildlife is never good . Dead zone is ugly
Yea it would be cool if new things were able to grow. Too bad they never do
this homeowne should go life in a condo in the city. He clearly does not appreciate how nice it was

Why cut down all the trees?

He didn’t did you actually watch the video?
Cutting brush out not the larger trees
Keep vaxing & boosting & you eventually produce dimwits that scream save the green environment & do this 💩
I wish I'd had that machine and your ability when I had several of my acreages. Wow. Talk about a labor saver. My goodness. Looks great.
