@@GilGamesHello I use it with a shield on a shield-based character and on another character with a second short-spear. Also, is it always good to have the same weapon(type) on the offhand or are there better combos?
@@goli749 I like using a light main and heavy offhand, jabbing with a sword or something to set up a flanged mace. This lets you get creative with your timing and mixes up your damage types so you have crush for plates and a blade for flesh. Having now tried it out, main hand short spear and flail or flanged mace feels nutty. Thanks for the tip, I was sleeping on short spears.
I'm with Bobtheboneboy my bones are Styrofoam and this game is stupid. Can you do this consistently or are these just lucky moments where the stars aligned? You're clearly skilled so I'm willing to believe it's possible(consistantly) but I'm also not at the same time
Anything you have to do to a resisting opponent takes a bit of luck. Pushing from the right and lifting between the legs are reliable, with the player in control of most things where the scoop from the left wants the invitation to counter. The last throw, behind the legs, is definitely more of a "stars aligning" thing. ruclips.net/video/mZZYocU79ec/видео.html my cursor looks smooth and deliberate in this highlight reel, which has a bunch of greatsword throws.
If you get the hang of it, thrust is OP. The best poles, like spears and halberds, have stabbing spikes. This poopfart guy is particularly good at thrusts. ruclips.net/video/4Bxc_-eYjV8/видео.html
it's a pretty common issue, we call it "phasing." It usually happens if you get a lot of force behind your trick and can be avoided by doing the trick slower or using thicker weapons. If this doesn't help you, try the bare mettle discord.
The timing is a lot more precise than these videos let on. I have the same set up, timing and inputs but it's like my sword is a floppy dick and just drags across the dude's body. My guy would rather twist his elbows into a pretzel than drag the enemy to the side. Sometimes I wonder if we're genuinely playing the same game! I've tried playing the game at half speed, turning off the AI, changing weapons, armor, perks, but no. My greatsword has no weight, and my bones are made of styrofoam.
without clips, all I can do is guess. OBS is free recording software, Shotcut is a free editor. SO HERE GOES. Pretzel-elbow may be caused by rushing the turn. You want to trace a radius around your guy instead of drawing a straight line to where you want to face. I tend to draw straight when I get frustrated or adrenaline that causes me to tense up in the neck/shoulders and death-grip the mouse. It's important to breathe and stay relaxed. It's also important to let go of the move keys, which I tend to press harder or lay on when frustrated, etc. It's not as simple as "move", the move command engages your guy's leg muscles, and stopping moving also requires muscle use. To get the most power, you have to time your technique with when your guy's legs are engaging. This kind of foot-planting timing might be why my guy looked "heavier" in that other video and is something you pick up with experience. Lots of experience.
@@GilGamesHello It's unfortunate that this isn't that kind of technique you can practice on a dummy, it's admittedly quite hard to stay calm when someone is swinging a sword in your face without halt. Although I do appreciate the feedback, guess I'll practice for like a year and get back to you lol.
@@bobtheboneboy6531 for real, staying calm is most of the difficulty. It's almost literally impossible to play this game when you get tense and jittery. Lots of breaks.
@@GilGamesHello Yeah I feel you. I have ADHD so I tense up very easily. I only learned how to shield bash because I could mess up and try again consistently, which is how I'm used to overcoming the tension.
Are there under-appreciated weapons that deserve to be explored? Styles and strategies that need be demystified?
The short spear is a very good weapon
@@goli749 Do you use it with a shield? With a specific off-hand?

Thank you gil. You only increase my powah
Great, high quality content and excellent gameplay. It's a happy holiday after all.
Aw man, I can't develop a single technique you've posted so far... Very fun to watch, though!
Though he was tossing this poor bastard 2:30 and proceeds to gets Ray Mysteriod
That tenchu music just gave me some flashbacks lmao. Amazing game
My guy, good tech

Do you recommend the thrust in poleweapons? Or is it useless and removes range from your weapon?

its impossibly hard! good video though :)
guys help, my weapon goes through my opponent when I try to do a trick, I don’t know what to do, I even gave it a name, “spectral stick syndrome”
