    I needed that "embrace the suck" bit at the end cause admittedly I get so mad trying too pull off these techniques lmao especially cause all these montages make it look so damn easy. Also the way you teach these techniques is very straightforward and easy too understand, especially with the inputs on screen. Super useful.

    Fantastic to watch as always mate
    Finally making me put down the polearm to return to my old roots as a sword man
    I have been noticing that false edging seems much... harder then I recall - seems impossible to get my character to generate the spring-back anymore, just keeps wanting to return to neutral instead even if it looks like he should generate spring-back.
    As an aside I might have stumbled onto a fun bottom to top combo option with greatsword - basically a golf swing
    Right side swings with a crouch input (either just before windup or during the startup of the actual swing) will result in a grounded sword drag that transitions pretty consistently into a shoulder guard - wouldn't be surprised if you could use it to get lifts or something with it thanks to its janky hit angle - pretty consistent on hitting anything that isn't a shield too.
    I'm boring - I just setup into immediate overheads since the ending position of the swing skips like 90% of the overhead windup

      Thank you. Yeah, the new footwork changed the false edge but the basic idea is still the same.
      I'll try throwing that golf swing, you had me at "janky".

    Very goated bro I watched your tutorial on chamber throwing 😠 I must be slow it’s so hard to do. I’m half decent at the game but techniques like this are hard bro you make it look easy

      Thanks, I'm definitely going to start saying "very goated".
      That's what I meant by "embrace the suck". In anything, it takes a long time of dedicated, almost obsessive failing to get anywhere but that's not what other people see. They see the highlight reel you make at the end.

      Thank you. Yeah, some people seem to get wrong idea and beat themselves up over it.
      My Steam says 280, but I know it's lying. This has been one of my favourite games for 5 or 6 years and I wouldn't be surprised if I was pushing thousands.
      PvP is planned, but it's a looong way out.

    Does anybody else turn down their mouse scroll speed? For me it helped to gain better control of my movements.

    Do you need to hold left click for grapples ? I'm fairly new to the game and every time I get close to grappling an opponent my hands dont tense up to hold , is it because I'm not holding the click ?

      "Grapple" is a bit of a misnomer and may lead you to think that there's a grab, push, bind, or hold ability but there isn't. Every "grapple" is the organic result of physics.
      When you chamber an attack, your character uses their muscles to move their weapon through space to the ready position. If the other guy's legs happened to be in the way, the engine would have to resolve the collision by either stopping your weapon or sweeping their legs. "Grappling" is the art of using your animations to impose on your opponent's body and ultimately push or flip them over.
      So, to finally answer your question, whether or not you need to hold left click is entirely situational.

    Can you think of any reason to use a two handed sword instead of a greatsword? Slightly joking, but also a serious question

      The 2H is a solid allrounder, great for fleshy campaign monsters, but falls off against full-plated arena masters and won't do much judo. The GS has a unique grip and animations so it's a meaningfully different weapon and not simply a bigger 2H, like how the 2H is just a bigger longsword.
      IMO, the 2H is one of the best feeling weapons in terms of the physics but certainly not powergaming.

      @@GilGamesHello I just dig the way the 2H look over zwei. Realistically the 2H would be more sturdy and rigid compared to a floppy greatsword, but whatever. I'm definitely gonna try some of them false edge cuts. Very useful stuff.

    Why does your character feel heavier than mine?

      What do you mean, "feel heavier"? The 3 characters in this video range from default to max height, and the swords range from 3 balance to 4.
      Their full suit of plate armour slows them down a bit even at 0 encumbrance.

      The guy in the black and red armour is default on all stats, the guy in the thumbnail is like 80% tall, and the guy in the gold is max height.
      Height definitely helps when you want to lift people.
