    To be fair, with the 1 minute wait, this lock lasts a lot longer than most master locks.

    • @andersjjensen
      @andersjjensen 3 года назад +62

      @@davidwarford3087 Because the EMP "blast" confuses the lock to not know it's time, but the programming only sends the "open the lock" signal when the timer actively runs out. Basically the "post EMP" state is identical to the "has just been opened and then closed again" state. So the lock is shut and it's ready to accept a new time limit.

On the other hand some may omit that for cheapnesss as they don't really care about accuracy.

      @@seriousmaran9414 I mean, it totally depends on what you do with it. The US banking system isn’t as gold dependent as it used to be, since the gold standard is long gone and even the later connection between the dollar and the gold price isn’t a thing anymore. Obviously dumping a large amount of gold into the market would ruin its value, but keeping it locked up might do less damage... the whole thing with Goldfinger was basically taking it out of supply to raise the gold price, which I’m honestly now wondering about the actual effects if somebody did that...

    Without getting too far into the details, I used to work security at a CA State Building- To get into the building, we used to put our radios right against the card readers and key the mic. The door popped each and every fucking time.
    The radios and the readers have since been replaced, but the defect is still there.
