  • @ralphralpherson9441
    @ralphralpherson9441 Год назад +201

    That was cooler than the $30,000 chest. My favorite so far, hands down and by a mile. I think it was the fact that it had the "Indiana Jones" themed treasure hunt with the "Ancient Maya/Aztec" aesthetic vibe kicking PLUS the fact you actually got some treasure at the end with the nice gem! I wouldn't be surprised at all to find that is an actual fasceted precious gemstone of some value. *EDIT:* Jesse's website says the gem is real, it's a type of Irradiated Quartz called "Citrine" (i.e. does not occur in nature). Would have been really sick if it was Fire Opal though, since Fire Opal comes from South/Central America and was precious to the Aztec and Maya. (I dated a gemologist for 3 years back in the day, learned a lot from her). It is also yellow or orange. Emerald would be cool too, but probably too expensive.
    *EDIT #2 : PLEASE POST THE FINAL SOLVE OF THIS PUZZLE!!* from a quick review of the comments, you missed the final solve! Comments say it was dealing with the scorpion and the cog-wheel thing and there is still more to solve! Would love to see the "final secret" in an update video! Thanks Chris, Cheers mate! 🍻

    • @joshuamidgette4846

      @@joshuamidgette4846 Yes, I knew about the irradiated ammy, but most folks I've seen who purport to have "citrine" actually have iron stained quartz or just very yellow smokey quartz. (hence, irradiated naturally). The way I understand it, the only the iron chromophore in citrine can be natural is if a quartz deposit or vein is also located in a pegmatite with radioactive minerals, and I suppose that's more than probable...

      The box includes a link to Jesse going through the solution, only real hint mentioned is that the symbols on the bottom are a clue for where to start. The rest of the puzzle is pretty self explanitory TBH, although the use of spear to wind back the spring loaded part was a complete fluke for me to work out. Would say that Chris does seem to "stumble" on some of the steps with suspicious regularity, first step being case in point. The sliding part is invisible on my copy of this puzzle and doesnt slide as easy, took me quite a while to "stumble" on it.

Hints tools etc that are combined from the first ones to be used on the final ones solution.... and to make things even more wicked, one of the final puzzles gem is a real gem, lets say they release 500 finals and 499 use cubic zirconias and the last one uses a real diamond.... it would be one hell of a sales pitch

    Thinking about this again, I am wondering if you discovered everything about the puzzle. The note said the writer died by the scorpion's sting. It was important enough to be in the only written clue. You also found a heavy metal coin which did not have an apparent use. If you did the wrong move
    would the scorpion have locked the box? Maybe the coin was the key to unlock it?

      Yeah and where was the jaguar. He found the scorpion so there has to be a jaguar somewhere in that puzzle.

    This is one beautiful puzzle. Just looking at gives me chills. Whoever crafted the box is one master of his trade or their trade if more than one and the designer is just wow to have that concept come to life. Defiantly one of the best puzzles and that’s an achievement with all the fantastic puzzles you’ve solved ❤

    I love the card trick where you have 2 cards in the glass back to back and 1 card taped to the hat. You turn the glass to reveal each card but give the illusion that it changes every time then when you completely remove the hat you take one of the cards with you leaving only one card making people believe it was magic the whole time.

    • @Zach_breen
      @Zach_breen Год назад

      How could it be taped it’s in the glass

    • @develdomex
      @develdomex Год назад +1

      The card wasn’t taped to the hat it was attached to a string and the string was attached to the hat, you could even see the 10 go up and down a little bit in the glass, and when he pulled the hat away he pulled the 10 away connected to the string.

    • @mitterfox98
      @mitterfox98 Год назад

      If you would pay notice you can even see the other card when he moves the cap

  • @StopDropNRofl
    @StopDropNRofl Год назад +14

    For those of you confused at the first trick, it works exactly as he shows, just turning the glass. The red card is attached to the hat and so when he pulls the hat straight up, it takes the card with it.

      That still requires thinking, without knowing how it works you have to think where things go and slot in. Much puzzle solving is clues be it following a guide, or matching symbols to see what to go for next.

    That was by far one of the best puzzles you've solved in a long time. Yet it feels unfinished? The large coin has grooves on the outer edge, like a gear would. Could that be used as a tool somewhere? I know you enjoy magic as well. I hope you can find a balance between them instead of feeling like you are neglecting one for the other. You can have more than one channel here. :-) And yes, teach the tricks to those who want to learn.

    I'm not satisfied at all! There were so many diagrams and only 1 of them were used! The writings weren't used at all, instead he happened on reference points but had no relevance clarified. And of three items, again only one was used! The disk was found but then left behind and forgotten in an unexplained slot, while the larger disk was only ever found near the end and never used at all! It feels more like you happened on the solution!

    Basically “The Room” contraptions in real life. It would make my decade to own, or even just try, something like that.
    it looks like you might have skipped multiple puzzles, and just got lucky at the end maybe?
    there were so many unused elements and symbols that looked like they were leading us through a narrative.
