  • In a preservation first we witness and capture two LMS Royal Scots heading over Shap back to back within 20 minutes of each other. A scene like this wouldn't of been seen possibly since the 1950's or 60's ?? and this was a spectacle not to be missed. Both locos are seen on the upper part of Shap with 46100 Royal Scot heading up first and is captured in fine voice hauling the Lakelander. Scots Guardsman would be the next northbound train up the West Coast Mainline and all was going well until a couple of wheel slips pegged the throaty Scot back which in turn hampered the loco for the rest of the climb to Shap Summit, although the momentum was lost 46115 was still in good shape and not in trouble as it forged its way to the summit in fine voice.
I hope you enjoy this preservation first !
