We're the same age John. I'm living in Alabama now, but still remember growing up in Cali. Perhaps we paddled past each other one morning at Swammies 😁 lol Loved that point break👍
I'd much rather watch a video of a stylish elder dance smooth and gracefully across the face, than some spread legged kid with arms flapping while doing aerials and acrobatics.
Absolutely beautiful! I'm 50 now and have been surfing since 1983. I grew up in Newport Beach and moved to Texas two years ago and miss the ocean so much. I got to spend a month in Hawaii back in January and it was so nice to surf almost every day. If you're by the ocean drink it up! What a blessing!!
Come down to South PADRE ISLAND , Isla Blanca park got good waves, I moved back After , AUSTIN exploded and it was just time to go surfing.... 🍷🍷👤 REYBANN
@@prontoworld5963 I got caught up with working in LA in entertainment and barely surfed anymore. Southern California became so overcrowded and expensive it wasn't really possible to live there anymore. However, I didn't realize how much I'd miss the ocean.
The smile Bob has is universal to all surfers... when we return home to our ocean. I wonder, how many smiles Bob McTavish has globally created over his lifetime?
Hello Bob, So glad to see you still hitting it. I am giving you a shout out and postings on my Facebook page from Mike Crews ,Hot Wax Surf Shop Emerald Isle NC. I’m still hitting it to at a younger 66. But am usually the oldest in the water here at Bogue Pier and the point. You ,I and Steve Walden toured the east coast for GSI in 2007 to promote your world wide distribution of McTavish surf boards. It was a pleasure for me to meet you a truly great surf legend. I enjoyed the trip. Your current line up looks great. I still have my 8 Ball and you can’t miss a wave on that board. Cheers, Mike
Bobs autobiography "Stoked" is one of the best, funniest books I have read. He is a natural no nonsense writer as well as dynamo surfer. After reading his book I wrote a song called " Stoked The ballad of Bob Mc Tavish" ( by pete knowles) ..... he said he liked it, but Bob is very polite! GO BOB!
Bob is a legend. A great surfer, pioneer and good bloke. I’m lucky to have three of his boards. A 6’2 Sumo, a 7’6 Rincon and a 9’4 Fireball. Works of art that are functional and make me smile.
CAMIOLOGY TV Yeah very lucky! I did run into Bob once too at Suffolk Park pub. Couldn’t help but tell him how stoked I was and how much I love his boards.
Its all in the grin :) Went in his shop once just for wax... Bob got chatting and ended up giving us the full tour of the board factory and schooled us how boards are made.. Good dude,, happy chappy
G,day, many moons ago down in canberra of all places, bob taught me and my friend the ins and outs of shaping and glassing, his imput has served me ever since, lots of greenoughs thoughts too, thanks bob,
I'm 75 and still surfing. Bob used to hang out at Palm Beach in the early 60's. His spot was just to the north of the pavilion and he even had the same colour board !!! He was a bit of a loner.
Beautiful Film, inspirational, last time I was in I was crap, I was 71 then but I'll be better this year, more time in the surf is the answer at our age.
So inspired to surf again (when the beaches are open!) 50something lifelong surfer here and I've got no right to complain about my aches n pains after watching Bob get it like this at his age!
Bob, if you read my comment I am going to get you that "Bing" you shaped over here (USA) in 1968 but due to the control - US virus issues globally and trying to care for my 88 year old mom, sheltering in place and my mom being scared for me to even go to the store --- watching you smile while belly-ing a left made my spirit smile just like yours. Thank you, you and your family are in my prayers. Billyjack Siksika Holyman
Why people waste their lives in vain sometimes? The way we live is always (or almost at least) results from our big decisions. Amazing video... We can see how happy he is doing it!

I camp to heal, My intention is to record a blues triple. Bilingual bush noises. Bobs grace his fizz, his unaware ability to underwrite our fathers values careers and hip directions. So much. I don't crouch down to put my board on the beach cuz I'm a boss. Imagine how many boards this guy has flipped on a stand while shaping. I bet He knows exactly how to do without damaging
At 65 I can relate to this guy. There are many of us that are products of the 1960s and 70s that intend to surf, ride, ski, and fly into the sunset.
Amen Jan😉
My biggest wish in life - to be able to surf at his age !
You can do it. Stay relatively strong and physically mobile.

Why 9 people have disliked this boggles my mind. This is poetry in motion. ✌️❤️
Not all human beings are evolved enough to understand beauty and poetry...so they thumb down what they don't understand...very sad

Bob surfs good.
Bob wears a leggy.
Bob is smart cos he knows what can happen.

Well shaped and gentle waves on a gliding machine...doesn't get any better. As soon as he stood up, I was reminded of Skip Frye.

Beautiful film. Well done guys

You mean The Pass. Tons of less crowded waves to surf in that area.
