He has much better potential, he is very calm while racing which help. Was it not for all the drivers ramming his car and destroying it he would have had more point this year.

arguably leclercs ferrari stint could be compared to piastri mclaren second half now. Reasonably close though leclerc had won 2, could have been 4 races in 2019. vs piastri 1 sprint win.

@@allena3430 maybe, but Charles had an entire season of F1 as experience by then. This is Piastris rookie season

Ill say one thing about Piastri, that you cant say about a lot of guys on the grid. He's a natural racing driver. A lot of guys got there through improving year after year with hard work, grind and struggle. Some guys got there with Daddys money. And some guys got there because theyve just always been faster and teams arent stupid enough to ignore straight natural ability.

Leclerc is in his 5th year and still behaves like a rookie. He has the pace but nothing much else. He lacks the leadership skills to rally the team around him. Unless everything works for him, he cant win. Pushes way too much and crashed few times.
On the other hand i see Piastri to be much more grounded and mature for an actual rookie. No idea if he has the same kind of pace as charles but he has the other qualities needed to be successful.

I don’t think you can compare the two. Charles have stopped progressing as a driver and Piastri still has a long way to go. Piastri probably has bigger talent ceiling compared to Charles who can’t race too well on Sundays.

If you think that Piastri is like Leclerc, then you underestimate him a lot because Leclerc is not what he used to be and especially from everyone else, Leclerc is only going down and meanwhile Piastri is far better than Norris and theoretically than Russel and when he gains more experience he will be on the level of Verstappen wich is level of true world champion. In addition, Piastri is a convincing future world champion and Mclaren, if it doesn't go wrong again like in 2008 and 2013, then this time Mclaren could stay at the top and without a doubt it will be Piastri who will lead the team and be the better of the two drivers. Leclerc meanwhile made the most stupid decision by staying with Ferrari which is totally broken and makes stupid and random decisions and can't even think of strategies or communicate simple information to the driver. Leclerc is ruining his career by staying at Ferrari and in the meantime he could be somewhere where he can be a leader and seriously win the title one day even though he doesn't have the qualities of Verstappen or Russell or he didn't have the opportunity to show his maximum qualities and I'm not talking about Sainz who did take a step forward when he moved to Ferrari but like Leclerc he is wasting time there.

I’m sorry Leclerc is a different kind of a driver to Piastri. Leclerc didn’t have the funds like Piastri and max had. Leclerc just has a poor team management

its insulting to piastri. leclerc is thick as shit and a one trick pony - he has speed going on for him but poor strategist and not at all level headed.
