Good points, but I honestly dont think the overdose is nearly as bad as people say. The damage penslty looks way worse than it acctually is. It equates to only 1 less damage, so unless youre a battle medic,it shouldnt matter. As for it needing to be active, i see it as the medic equivilent to the powerjack. You gain extra speed, but at the cost of something else, in this case, having your medigun holstered. At max uber, medic moves about 5% slower than a scout. Just imagine how easy that would make escaping with medic would be. Point is, risking healing for speed is a fair trade in my eyes, especialy if you use it at the right time.
Well you are most certainly right it is not a good way to deal with enemies in a tight spot, but you assume that’s what it’s for, the syringe guns are pretty bad, but that’s why giving a weapon a utility can still make an effective equip, it’s clearly meant for a retreat/return/regroup as the speed boost starts to approach a scout, which is the class that can easily pick and choose when he’s in the fight and not. To paraphrase zesty Jesus, “the overdose allows you to more likely keep your Uber the more Uber you have earned” which is exactly why the fact that you have to pull it out to speed up is balanced, because if you could heal and gain Uber while actively benefiting from it would be busted. The overdose simply allows you the option to run with your Uber to get back into a good situation.
Might wanna talk louder, it's almost an ASMR video, lol. Maybe the Overdose could like charge up with every hit it does and when the charge is full, the medic can run 15% faster when activating the charge, while they can do, I dunno, heal teammates or play battle medic.
Until I start using the overdose I could barely stay alive. With the max speed boost I've been able to outrun Demoknights. I don't understand why everyone hates this thing, from my experience it's even more viable than the Blutsauger for combat purposes.
Not to hate but, if you are trying to kill a heavy with a syringe gun at close range, you're dead, and at middle range, they still don't do much damage, and at far range, how are you hitting it. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk.

You took one year without a dislike, congratulations.
And you lost...
