3 years since I made this video and I've taken a break from this game. It still warms my heart to see people come and comment on this video and share their experiences as medic. Hope this video is still informative, much love.
I've never watched a any tips about tf2 other than how to lower the useless particle effects. And it some how fits my playing style. I have more than 300 score on medic alone. And I always use amputator.
Awesome shoot, sir mind if me ask your permisson of republish& translate it (into cn), non profit, pure sharing, you got my word! Would be nice to my medi main pals really:]
You missed one good and funny tip - to heal and uber enemy spies and never attack them, this is extremely funny and also a bit beneficial, because spy will most likely to stop attacking you. Also uber snipers, spies and such, yeah most of the time it is not such efficient as ubering pyros and demos, but it is also extremely funny and this is one of the main reasons why medic is the most fun class and why I am maining it. It is funny to uber jarate bushvaka sniper, or spy with a knife that gives speed boost, or give krits to sniper.
Here is a small secret to keeping a buff team: Overheal incoming reinforcements No Matter how good you are as a medic your teammates will be killed or get themselves killed. So when you are holding the frontline and patching up all those wounds always keep a Eye out for teammates that come from spawn. The reason for that is crit heals. For those that are unfamiliar with it, Crit heals are a mechanic in TF2 where a teammate can receive up to x3 times the normal amount of health from a medigun. This is determined by the time your teammate last took damage. When a teammate took damage within the last 10 seconds he/she will receive the normal heal amount. If they haven't taken damage in the last 10 seconds or longer the crit heals will start to build up. Now most of the time this mechanic NEVER ever comes into play as you as a medic are frantically healing everyone to keep them fit for the front lines. Either your teammates get heals from you or a healthpack or they die when overextending with low health. HOWEVER when a player respawns he/she will always respawn with the maximum amount of crithealing build up. So when they come back to the frontlines BEFORE taking any damage you are able to fully overheal a teammate within a 1-2 seconds what normally takes 3-6 seconds nevermind the missing health. Someone with 50% extra health is less likely to die immediately and will be able to get more stuff done. This does most of the time not apply to Soldiers or Demos as they Rocket/Sticky jump in order to get faster back to the front but every other class will most likely havent done any action that would decrease their health bar. So as a Medic you should always keep a close eye on the teleporter of your friendly engineer provided you have one. Be prepares to overheal who ever comes through that teleporter and apologize to your engi when it was a spy. Overheal Reinforcements>more heals overall>a healthier team>less work in the future>a job well done
ye but you also have to remember the proper heal order. Array has a whole video about that but in short you should heal the ppl that are attacking or being attacked and then the others. Meaning you would have less time for the incoming reinforcments. But yes you're right crit heals are rly important but the fact of the matter is that only people who know to their heart about this technique will use it. But overall great advice to keep in mind.
Love the tips, great stuff. Something I wanna add about Uber and when to pop, while ubers are very important, don't feel be afraid to pop to save yourself. Look at it like this, if you don't pop the Uber to save yourself, you lose the charge, and can't heal anyone on your team for 10 seconds, and you have to get back to the front and start your build all over, however, if you do Uber to save yourself, you can maybe score some extra kills that your pocket wouldent have gotten, and you are able to heal your team still.
That’s the mentality I tend to have as medic. Even though I am a below average medic, I like to think on the moments where I used a crossbow bolt to save a teammate on the brink of death or a time a teammate and I had a good Uber push. Little wins go a long way when playing this class
I love playing Medic! These tips are actually really interesting and can definitely help me when I'm playing Med more! You've earned a sub my friend! :) *NOTE*: I main Soldier, but I still love to play Medic that I don't see why I shouldn't give these tips a try :P
feel like its very easy to forget that defense can still defend points while ubered, definitely recommend all aspiring medic mains keep that fact in mind if theyre at last and about to lose. an uber where you just stand there with your medigun out is still helping because it gives your teammates time to respawn and keeps you alive to buff them as soon as they do
I am back in TF2 after roughly a 9 year break, been playing again I suppose six weeks. I am medic main obviously, and to catch up I have watched a few hundred TF2 vids over the last few weeks, of course a bunch of Mrslin :) It is now a year after you posted this, and I can say that TF2 is still great and the community is awesome. I am playing Payload again and loving it, I might even get back into 6s or highlander since I am enjoying it so much. I loved you tips, not only are they entirely appropriate, you address the issues with passion and I like that. I suppose my personal rules for myself are: 1: Never pocket anyone, heal each and every player and try to uber to advantage always. 2: Try to communicate and lead, even if this means some people will get salty because casual. The majority of the time if you are polite and helpful and genuinely contribute to better cohesion and tactics your fellow players will appreciate the fact they are more successful. 3: Never put shit on new players or young kids. Sure we all love to spawncamp nublets, kill them all always by all means, but trash talking some "sqeaker" or "ftp" is the height of stupidity for obvious reasons. A good medic is a team player and no man gets left behind. Enjoyed your content lots, if you want to add me on Steam, I would be happy to have a fellow medic on my list: GoV- VenGanZa TF2-T [A] I am fairly well known so please no adds from others, my list is always full :)
Thanks for a good video. 8/10 I am bad at communication and spies get me quite a lot more than they should be able to. I felt that moment when you died in the end, sometimes shit just happens but we gotta keep at it. Have a good one
Number one is already impossible ngl I honestly hate having to shape up my team so that they don’t do something stupid whilst I’m with them like the “eating my sandwich when my medic is right fucking there” I can’t seem to enjoy shaping them up so I’m mostly on the quick-fix defending my self meanwhile all my teammates do is waste my Uber and all the good teammates are busy playing spy and sniper so I can’t really utilise it all that much but yeah anger is sorta necessary for your team to listen I’ve realised.
0:31 NEIN wrong, bad, it's not boring. I will do whatever it takes to heal my team, if you were a good medic main, you wouldn't say such bad words at our favourite class!
Man, my fourth favorite class is medic, and is the class that i play the most because always need one. I play classes my team needs, so, when i m playing medic and see another player choose medic, i try to pick another class to fortify my team weakneses(for example taking engie if we dont have one). This is a mistake cause the new player playing medic dies once, and choose another class, and then we have 0 medics for a while, and i have to go back as medic...
I used to only heal important classes like soldier and demo, but I found out recently that its totally viable to heal everyone. Scouts make you faster, so you can easily get to the frontline or dodge projectiles. Overhealing a sniper is a great way for them to easily take out the enemy sniper without getting instakilled. Im sure there's more examples, but thats all I've found out so far.
My personal tip is pocketing is ok but just dont forget others u have crossbow to do quick help sometimes not overhealing everyone costs life of 6 enemy gamers (but dont forget that burning sniper standing right in front of u they can save your ass)
I like the subscriber number you got there. 506. 1. I never really got angry at my team, too distracted by dodging stuff to notice what they do wrong. 2. "Thanks!" "Go! Go! Go!" "Sentry ahead!" "Spy!" 3. TF2 taught me to never stand still, I never stop moving even in Minecraft and L4D2. 4. ... Yeah, the same as point 3. 5. Never did, but it was funny how you described it! xd 6. Scouts, Snipers, and Spies can use the overheal, stay alive longer, and maybe saves their life without them knowing it at all. 7. I think it is unresponsible to even lead the medic into enemy territory. 8. Actually no one yet was mean to me when I was playing Medic. 9. "Go! Go! Go!" Awaken! DEMO STICKIES! 10. I am filled with determination. I liked the title card at 4:02 by the way, I'd like to see more of that nice looking graphics!
Great video, know it's a bit old but still good.I always make sure I have spies fully overheal before they make it to mid/first point just to help them survive if they get found out quickly. If I pick medic at the start of the round I'll typically stay medic for the whole game. If I pick any other class I usually hop around. I really do enjoy playing medic
Nice vid mate, espically telling medic mains no pocketing. True, it is reasonable for medics to support those who are carrying the team, but a medic is capable of keeping multiple patients alive at the same time. So when seeing people focus on healing one man, I'm actually upset, since they don't make the most of themselves, they kinda... wasted their potential.
these tips are genuinely really helpful! medic is a very fun class. i have played 23 hours as medic, so im still very new, and this made me feel a lot better about playing as him. :)
Oh I want to expand and make clear why DO NOT POCKET is important. A medic has two functions: one is to heal and overheal, the other is to utilize uber which is almost always the decisive factor in any match between teams of equal skill level. In order to achieve the fastest possible build rate (apart from CRIT HEALS which rarely factor in most formats of the game to any large extent) we need as a medic to heal damaged players. Now quite apart from the fact that pocketing some heavy will quickly earn the ire of your team, it is downright unproductive. If said heavy is the top scorer by a factor of 3, then by all means feed him all the ubers, but get said ubers you want to heal EVERYONE ON YOUR TEAM :) DO NOT POCKET EVER. PERIOD.
Heres my tip for crossbow aiming If ur finding it hard to aim the crossbow I recommend trying to hit enemies when ur in tense situation since after all the enemy will have the same walk speed and it helps u remember unpredictable movements I did that and within like a few months I was able to hit about maybe 70% of my shots of course only try this if u actually need to or if u know ur teammates are fine on heals U can also use this to your advantage to help ur fellow demos or soldiers since that way u can provide some extra dmg if a airblast pyro was coming Extra tip: learn to surf rockets it's not that hardest thing to get the hang off its pretty much the same as rocket jumping expect it takes a little more timing and such
I weirdly have fun with medic, at first I didn't, I would rather get frags but the more I play medic the more I enjoy it. I may not do the killing but boy howdy am I making sure no one on the enemy team is either
Extra tip I found useful as a Medic: Flash Healing. Flash Healing is a technique I came up with where whenever I use any Medigun, I start rapidly switching heal targets in order to offset damage if there is incoming fire. I've found this more useful with Stock and the Quick Fix, because they prioritize defense and healing over Uber building and resistances I also found Flash Healing useful for when there are two heal targets getting attacked at once and I have no time to build up Overheal. I've prevented a lot of deaths and saved a lot of people's asses with this method, even if the Uber building from it is lackluster as opposed to building max Overheal.
As a note I do have a disagreement with one thing: If a Phlog Pyro or pretty much whoever else does start whining at any point and berating me, even if I'm directly healing him, I deny him heals for the rest of the game and just let the idiot rage. Either he leaves the game or shuts up, but if they learn their lesson that they don't get what they want by shouting for it, then sure they'll have Overheal most of the time. Otherwise, one essence of toxicity and there goes your Medic. Have fun.
No, this is only good with quick fix uber, though quick fix is a bad because it does not give good overheal. You should give max overheal, if someone is too low on health give him a crossbow arrow, or just heal him later if you somehow do not have crossbow. Overheal is really powerful, extra 50% health significantly decreases chances to die. I use crossbow to heal, and my stock medigun is mostly used to give overheal.
1. your uber is way more important than any teammates 2. healing everyone optimizes your ubercharge so no pocket 3. clutch your ubers 4. be assertive. a sub medic only dies on every push/counterpush 5. get a spray that say "stop here for insta-heal" when you have the crossbow equipped 6. uber before crossing a sniper sight line. you don't wanna get punished with a 100% uber and no teammates 7. you don't have time to spy check so get a pyro gf 8. heal the enemy spy for free ubercharges 9. your melee exist and your gun is useless unless you want to panic retreat from a sniper in syringe range 10. if you don't play medic for uber, instead play Mercy or Soraka and start hrt treatment today.
5:00 you get much more ubers you can give all the ubercharges to your lovely pocket imagine the rest of the team is free uber is not that hard people XD dont get angry if they spam you MEDIC see them as free uber and if you need to abandon that player just run away
Very nice guide! I've just started getting into medic seriously again (been maining demo for about 800 hours), so sometimes it's frustrating sitting back knowing I can clean house when my team is struggling. I'll try some of these out to guide my team in the right direction! Do you use a medic config, my any chance? I just finished overhauling mine and I'm quite proud of it. It gives my team any info they might need on what medi gun I'm running, tells them when I have uber and whether I've popped or not. These binds can also be turned on and off.
Medic pain : Someone steal your medkit No one to uber and dies No one care about are you dies or not Someone waste uber Uber a spy enemy when you don't he is not your team Heal a person but then he stab 1 of your team Die when ready to charge Lost uber Got spy stab Everyone left you alone Been headshot Everyone doesn't respect you
when I play i almost always play with my friend who plays heavy, and when i uber somebody the most time it's him becuse we can talk very easliy and we can do plan is it bad?
A valuable tip for all future main doctors, DON'T BE STUCK TO JUST ONE GAME STYLE. I know that there are item options that bypass others such as the crossbow and the ubersaw, but in addition to making you sick of playing with just one style of play, it will make you more predictable for the opposing team. Syringe guns may not be very strong weapons for utility, but they are strong at keeping you alive once you learn how to use them. The crossbow only has a utilitarian function, it makes you more vulnerable to scouts and spies, please don't listen to these people who are slaves to the ''meta'', team fortress is not a competitive game in essence, play to have fun.
Incase it you don't know, if you are gonna buy stuff in the mann co store, just buy keys or backpack expanders. Never buy any hats/cosmetics cuz they are overpriced as heck.
3 years since I made this video and I've taken a break from this game. It still warms my heart to see people come and comment on this video and share their experiences as medic. Hope this video is still informative, much love.

Wait, there are other medic mains that don'? btw i 110% laughed at the quote at the end XD
Don'T forget: Sei Deutsch!
Even the enemy spy
Professionnals have standards
YES
Whenever a teammate gets mad because I didn’t heal them. I usually say, “I’m sorry, but your insurance doesn’t cover this.”

@@kolinaspronokOh yeah, I watched the array Seven video too on that matter.
man you are the most chill guy on yt
like even your guides are just "be chill bro"
awesome stuff btw
Tbh the "Listen to constructive criticism but ignore that one guy that rages in chat" tip is good life advice in general

props.

I find medic fun tbh.
8:51 this was the perfect time to pop your uber and defend the point.

“Communication is key”
Me and my f2p ass that cant use vc cuz free 2 play
I love slapping Snipers, Scouts and Spies like mosquitoes
OCTOBERFEST!
The background music in the intro is Layer Cake from the Persona 5 ost, by coincidence my favorite of the ost!
Another great and super helpful video, my performance as a medic main has really improved thanks to your guides. I really, really appreceate it.
Give tip: flick so you don’t get backstabbed
10 seconds later: gets backstabbed and loses Uber
How amazingly true.

you deserve more subscribers im currently trying my best to be medic main and this helped me out a lot
I just started playing tf2, i cant decide whether i should main medic or pyro, i cant decide if i wanna a production member of society or a Arsonist
Thank you 😁 and have a nice day!
Heres my tip for crossbow aiming
If ur finding it hard to aim the crossbow I recommend trying to hit enemies when ur in tense situation since after all the enemy will have the same walk speed and it helps u remember unpredictable movements
I did that and within like a few months I was able to hit about maybe 70% of my shots of course only try this if u actually need to or if u know ur teammates are fine on heals
U can also use this to your advantage to help ur fellow demos or soldiers since that way u can provide some extra dmg if a airblast pyro was coming
Extra tip: learn to surf rockets it's not that hardest thing to get the hang off its pretty much the same as rocket jumping expect it takes a little more timing and such
I weirdly have fun with medic, at first I didn't, I would rather get frags but the more I play medic the more I enjoy it.
I've found this more useful with Stock and the Quick Fix, because they prioritize defense and healing over Uber building and resistances
I also found Flash Healing useful for when there are two heal targets getting attacked at once and I have no time to build up Overheal.
Persona 5 soundtracks in the background gave me so much nostalgia that ı couldnt get my mind to properly to listen your tips.😅
I remember I was in a pub once and someone told me I was a good medic. Straight up warmed my mega baboon heart.
This is so underrated, before I even checked the RUclipsr I thought it was ArraySeven or something.
Im having fun playing medic and i downth know why
i mean it isn't that hard to not get angry at your team unless they yell medic
while WALKING A-FUCKING-WAY FROM ME
YES THIS IS WHY I DONT HEAL SCOUTS I JUST CANT THEY SAY MEDIC THEN RUN AWAY
Thanks!! Ive been using these tips and im improving in my medic skills!! :D
1. Don’t die
2. Uber charge often
3. Understand the importance of crit heals and overheals
1. Never back down
2. Never what?
3. NEVER GIVE UP
after watching this video I am more optimistic about becoming a Medic main
Danke c:
1. your uber is way more important than any teammates
2. healing everyone optimizes your ubercharge so no pocket
3. clutch your ubers
4. be assertive. a sub medic only dies on every push/counterpush
5. get a spray that say "stop here for insta-heal" when you have the crossbow equipped
6. uber before crossing a sniper sight line. you don't wanna get punished with a 100% uber and no teammates
7. you don't have time to spy check so get a pyro gf
8. heal the enemy spy for free ubercharges
9. your melee exist and your gun is useless unless you want to panic retreat from a sniper in syringe range
10. if you don't play medic for uber, instead play Mercy or Soraka and start hrt treatment today.
Good shit man 🤣
As medic main my problem is mostly spy or when I uber someone to go destroy sentrys, they Just go afk
2:31 don't tell me you play without autoheal
Who doesn't?
@@sasorioftheredsand4348 you mean to tell me you hold down left click all game?
@@asdfoifhvjbkaos believe me, it's not uncomfortable and I kinda helps Balecing the heals
Instructions unclear, I ubered the sniper

you get much more ubers you can give all the ubercharges to your lovely pocket imagine the rest of the team is free uber is not that hard people XD
dont get angry if they spam you MEDIC see them as free uber and if you need to abandon that player just run away
I guess sometimes i'm too ignorant to learn new thing as a medic and that's why i m here.
These binds can also be turned on and off.
its the opposite with me, I feel irritated when medics make mistakes and dont do their job properly. Also the reason why I main engie
Medic pain :
Someone steal your medkit
No one to uber and dies
No one care about are you dies or not
Someone waste uber
Uber a spy enemy when you don't he is not your team
Heal a person but then he stab 1 of your team
Die when ready to charge
Lost uber
Got spy stab
Everyone left you alone
Been headshot
Everyone doesn't respect you
Tip Number 11: Take “Valium”. It’ll make you way better at offense.
when I play i almost always play with my friend who plays heavy, and when i uber somebody the most time it's him becuse we can talk very easliy and we can do plan is it bad?
Thank you.

Love the P5R music!
QUESTION- i cant chat because its unable on my account, how can i enable it?? T-T
Thank you so much for this advice! Great stuff! Stay frosty.
He didn't to the spy flick at 5:17 lol
Idk, i started playinf medic because i got bored of firing, now im bored of playing with bots, they are dumb to play as medic
very nice tips :D
now im gonna go beg my mom for an item on the mann co shop so i can talk
Incase it you don't know, if you are gonna buy stuff in the mann co store, just buy keys or backpack expanders. Never buy any hats/cosmetics cuz they are overpriced as heck.

Your voice really reminds me of a calm Pee-Wee herman. Also, great tips!
