    KitchenAid W10605057 Whirlpool Dishwasher Pump and Motor Assembly amzn.to/2LATChO
    We changed out the sump pump assembly on this unit because the water was not being pushed through properly. The motor would run but it would just hum. There was nothing caught in the sump so there must be stuff stuck in the motor area. Replaced the sump pump and all is well.
    To replace this sump it can be pretty tricky. You need to drain the unit then take off the drain pump, turbidity sensor, and associated wiring. After that is done you can get the sump out. Swap over what needs to be swapped over to the new one than reinstall. After wards it should be washing great.

    Thanks for saving me from pulling the machine out. Everything went perfectly smooth and dishwasher runs like a champ now!

    You rock man, I was able to replace the sump without pulling the dishwasher, turning off the water, disconnecting all the electrical, etc. THANK YOU.

    Great video, mate! I had looked at other replacement videos, but I liked yours that shows not having to remove dishwasher and doing it in situ. Other than fitting my hands underneath and adding pressure from the top to tighten, it really wasn't bad and I trusted the fit. Thanks for showing another way!

    Really good repair video! Saved me $$$ and waiting for Kitchenaid / Whirlpool Platinum service for 3 weeks and $100 buck service call. I replaced the old sump and pump assembly in less than 90 minutes thanks to you!

    Great video! Took me about 90 min. Hardest part was getting the sump out/in. Dish soap was key. Thanks a ton!!

    Thanks man! our dishwasher’s main wash motor (or“sump”?) went bad on our machine, and I was deciding whether I should call someone or DIY it, I first watched a video from another channel which first encouraged me that is wasn’t so difficult. Problem was, it wasn’t the most detailed explanation & demonstration of all the special wires and stuff you have to disconnect and reconnect. So I decided on looking further on my specific sump assembly and came across your video. This video shows pretty much all the little details and gives advice on preparing for everything you’ll have to deal with on replacing the sump assembly.

    I love the videos like this that do half the work off camera and then just say "now just get it disassembled to this point".

      I just watched this video to see what you are talking about. What issue are you having? It looks to me that I covered everything.

    It was Easier to Leave the Turbidity Sensor and Drain Pump ON when removing the Sump Assembly. Then, I moved them to the new Sump BEFORE Installing it.

    I performed this repair with no issues. The assembly went in just fine the clips went on just fine but it's leaking from the seal. Do you have any suggestions?

    My Kitchen Aid kdte104ess0 isn't draining at all and I've changed out the drain pump and made sure there is no debris. Would changing out the sump pump be the next step in trying to fix the dishwasher? Appreciate the video sir :)

    Good video. Sadly, I called today to see if this was the right part for me with the symptoms I am having and the guy who answered the phone was an impersonal jerk with a condescending tone. He even hung up without saying thank you for calling or even a goodbye. Poor customer service. Would never order from you.

    I have a similar model. The bottom fills with water but doesn’t do anything else. It does drain tho. Is it the sump pump? Thanks

    • @BeardedApplianceRepair
      @BeardedApplianceRepair  3 года назад +2

      Either that or the control. Just have to make sure the motor is getting power . You can test for power at the motor or at the board or do a resistance check in the motor. If it is make no noise then the motor winding could be open which would be a new sump. I know that part is pricey so make sure before you order or install anything.

    how did you diagnose those parts needed to be replaced?

    • @BeardedApplianceRepair
      @BeardedApplianceRepair  4 года назад

      if the sump is clear and it's getting water than most of the time the problem lies in the motor or sump. hope you get her fixed!

    Good video but wouldnt be better to pull the dishwasher out and tip it over to get better access to the part?

    • @BeardedApplianceRepair
      @BeardedApplianceRepair  4 года назад +2

      For some sure. I do it this way. Saves me a ton of time. If your doing this diy definitely a good idea to pull it out so you can see.
      If I can do something without moving the dishwasher I’m going to do it. That’s just the way I am. This video just shows how I do these. You can do it how you like and if you’re a technician try both methods to see which one is best for you.

      Bearded Appliance Repair I am a DIY person and found this when searching why my Kitchenaid dishwasher wasn’t filling with enough water (even after I changed out the water inlet valve)! I can hear water going in but then it stops and then I hear some humming and clicks then more humming then it stops. The arms don’t spin either. So I said, it’s probably the sump motor.

      Is that drain motor impeller broken?

    • @BeardedApplianceRepair
      @BeardedApplianceRepair  4 года назад

      briantii yeah it was, wasn’t a big deal though. Customer wanted to leave it in there since he was already spend like $450 to get it fixed. If it didn’t work we would have replaced it but he wanted to save a little bit of money lol.

      @@BeardedApplianceRepair Completely understand! We have gone through so many drain pumps on our kitchenaid. New one every 1.5 years whennit gets noisy. So annoying as they work fine otherwise. Up next is the whole sump / motor like you replaced there. Really not impressed with Kitchenaid quality.
      Thanks for confirming and for the reply! Great video too - very helpful!
