Sorry. I have had cats all my long. life. I have had 3 (three) cats who trusted me, bring the very last surviving baby & place it at my feet. This, after the rest of their litter had died. I have also read of it happening with others who habitually fed stray cats. In this case, something really strange happened. If mom cat is still alive, SOMETHING scared her from that area. I think she would have come back to check on her child, and most certainly for more food, since she definitely would have become pregnant again. If mama ever returns, can you spay/neuter her? probably have. free neutering trucks there, or inexpensive pet hospitals? .Many thanks to you. I would have done exactly the same. From NY.
