    Having the ability to disable DC timeout is amazing! This is exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you so much. Tesla recently disabled low voltage DC when not in the car/outside camp mode, so I bought another power station to fill the gap. My fridge is very efficient and goes long periods without drawing power, so that station ended up disabling the DC output.

    My Delta 2 I can use solar to charge but if I have no sun it will stitch to grid. Or if you have the smart generator at 20% it will start the generator. Up to 80%. So this is more useful than any other one I’ve seen. Thumbs up 👍.

    So I have another question for you! (I'm still learning and love this stuff and you seem to be very knowledgable!)
    I have this Delta 2 Max and two EcoFlow 400W panels. I've read a bunch and seem to understand how the MPPT charge controller works (roughly), but I'm able to connect my two panels in parallel correct? Which would technically exceed the max current (and 500W cap of the solar port). To my understanding, The Delta 2 Max and the charge controller will limit the current coming in. And in this video, your four 180W panels would theoretically output 720W so it does cap at 500W, but would it be bad to input 800W or more (assuming you NEVER exceed the voltage limit)?
    Looking forward to hear what you think! I trust you and your vast knowledge on this stuff. I appreciate all the helpful videos!
    JF

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  Год назад +1

      Since the Delta 2 Max has two solar charging ports, I'd recommend connecting each 400w panel to their own charging port. Then you'll get more power than connecting them in parallel. However...if you happened to connect both 400w panels together in parallel using one charging port, the power station would limit the current as you described and it would not cause an issue.

    • @Voicesofjake
      @Voicesofjake Год назад

      @@Jasonoid Awesome! Thank you. Yeah my thought was to use one port for the parallel 400Ws and then a 220W on the other! (or two) to max out the 1000W input. 🙌

    • @Jasonoid

    Thank you so much for this extremely in-depth review. You definitely deserve more views/subs.
    I had an enquiry in regards to the max voltage for the unit's solar input. On the EcoFlow site it doesn't really state if it's for both ports or per port but because your reviews are so extensive with in-depth analysis and experimentation, I found my answer, so thank you. So just to clarify once more, on the XT60 connections it's 60v max per port, correct?

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  Год назад +1

      Yep you can only connect solar panels with a total voltage of 60 volts max per port. So one array of 60 volts on one port, and another array of 60 volts on the other. Two separate arrays for up to 1000 watts.

    Another excellent analysis and presentation. One item that apparently wasn’t improved is the rear power button. This is a bother in my Delta Max (w two extra batteries) installation in my Airstream Travel Trailer. A front button would be better. That, and the app requiring WiFi rather than bluetooth. We use ours extensively, I’m very satisfied, and figure that by the time I hit 800 cycles with my original Max, there will be a Delta 6 Max.

    As usual, another excellent in depth review. I really like the dual solar inputs and super quiet operation. Personally, I'd rather have the TT30 outlet and a set of wheels for RV and portable use but I get that Ecoflow is going after the stationary crowd. Another good test would be powering an RV air conditioner to see how well Xboost really works. That being said, Ecoflow really needs to improve their EPS function to 10ms or less to keep the back up power crowd happy. A lightweight custom tow cart would be awesome.

It may require some trial and error to strike a good balance, but any idea if this could work?

    Thanks for the video. Partially based on a previous video of yours, I’ve set up the Victron 12/24 to recharge the Delta 2 Max (on order) in our Gladiator build which will power our setup. You mention in this video you don’t love the Delta 2 Max for camping/over landing. Can you elaborate? We had a travel trailer and can’t think of anything we can’t power with Delta 2 Max in our Gladiator build. Also have the Glacier fridge with 2 barriers and a River Pro. Feel it’s been a cheaper route with more benefits than doing a dual battery system with a Redarc controller that’s stuck inside Jeep.

      The only reason is that the DC output is limited to 130 watts so powering larger DC loads won't work well. If that's not a worry than this will work great since the AC inverter is plenty powerful to run AC stuff.

    Hey Jasonoid! Thanks for all your work on these reviews. I'm interested in a Solar Power Station for use as a music PA system - so inverter noise is VERY important. This review shows the Delta2 max with around 1538mV of noise and seems nice and quiet through the amp, whereas your Pecron E600LFP shows slightly more 1546mV and makes an audible buzz. Is this due to the amp settings? Would you say the Delta2 max is noticeabley quieter noise wise than the Pecron E600?

    • @Jasonoid

      There are many different types of 'noise' that the inverter could be putting out. The dirty electricity meter measures EMI noise, there could also be RFI noise. The amp settings are the same on all my videos so if you don't hear noise on the amp test you should be okay.

    Hi. Thank you for your review. Could you please clarify if it is possible to connect Delta 2 Max to Delta 2 via the corresponding charging port for an Extra Battery and vice versa? I have Delta 2 and would like to increase the capacity, however, I do not wish to buy an Extra Battery for 2kWh since it has no functionality and the price difference is also small. I am from Ukraine and the difference in price is less than $400 (about $2050 for Delta 2 Max and about $1650 for Delta 2 Max Extra Battery) if you buy not from the official Ecoflow store since the price for Europe is much higher (about EUR 2100 for Delta 2 Max - it is about $2300, and EUR1500 for Delta 2 Max Extra Battery - it is about $1600). For US the difference is about $350 ($1749 for Delta 2 Max and about $1399 for Delta 2 Max Extra Battery). If I pay this difference I will receive the "stand-alone" device which I can use anywhere. Also, could you please let me know, if it is possible to connect the Delta 2 Max Extra Battery ordered from US to my European Delta 2 since there is a difference in voltages: 220V vs 110V? As I understand, the Extra Battery charges the "main battery" with its "own" voltage from 48v to 60v (and vise versa), and on Black Friday, for example, I may get a good discount from Ecoflow US official store or Amazon))). In such a case Delta 2 Max Extra Battery is worth the money.

    Hey Jason what are you thoughts on this delta max 2 vs Anker 767. I have the 767 that I just received a replacement for after a mis-wiring issue. The new replacement that just showed up only shows 117 volts with a multi meter at the ac inverter plugs. I’m going back with Anker to see if that normal. Anyway if this is another issue I might get a refund and buy the delta max 2

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  Год назад

      The 117 volts on your inverter is within normal voltage ranges for these power stations. Anything between 115 volts and 120 volts is a great place to be when running appliances and electronics. I wouldn't worry about that being an issue.
      The Anker is more quiet and is easier to move around with the handles and wheels. It also has a much faster UPS mode for computers or servers. It also can handle 20 amps output on the DC ports vs the 10 amps on the Delta 2 max.
      The Delta 2 Max has a more usable solar charging input since it shares that 1000 watts between two charge controllers.
      I'd say if you aren't super focused on solar charging or at least hitting the full 1000 watts input, I'd probably just stick with the Anker 767, it's a GREAT device.
