  • This time I use the Technics SX-WSA1 ;-) One of the very rare synths made by Technics. They call it Acoustic Modeling Synthesizer which means basically Physical Modeling. But they are using it in a different way than Yamaha and Korg. One of the highlights is the large color display and the well structured GUI which makes it a pleasure to program own patches.
    I used for the recording the following FX chain:
    WSA1 - Elektron Analog Heat - TC Electronic Mimiq - DigiTech Obscura - Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe - DigiTech Polara. The used fx varied depending on the recorded track.
    The signal goes via a small Behringer mixer straight into the pc.
    To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks with the WSA1. The final song was then mastered with just a bit EQ and compression on some tracks and some limiting on the master track.
    Well, I decided to go back to the basics, but at the same time make something useful for the synth community and do a kind of competition (I like competitions;-). What's my best synth for ambient music :-)

    the wsa is special, always reminded of D50 with some obscure fx processor added.

    The best synth ever as far as i am concerned! There is no other synth which can get so much out of one single preset and it can do everything from emulations of complex acoustic instruments and totally convincing analog synth sounds as well. It's been my main synth for the last 5 years or so. I actually built a whole setup around it. www.brassee.com/instruments.html#starship_one

      Você tem alguma amostra de som produzida? visitei o link que você deixou mas lá não consta nenhuma amostra do som. Eu também possuo este teclado, posso dizer que casei com a technics , WS1 pra mim eterno.

      @@gegelso If you go to the electronic music section you will find a lot of music. It is VERY prominent on everything I made since Zamisdat Suite. See the notes. 👍👍👍

    Dark and mysterious. Well done! At the moment, I'm working my way through the user interface. I'm quite puzzled the jog wheel doesn't switch patches. ;-)

      Many thanks :-) Yes, one has to use the buttons like in the synths from the late 80s and early 90s ;-) But programming patches is quite comfortable with the large display.

    How's it doing the high pitched sustain violin type note at 3m30s about? Is that a preset or modified? I need to spend more time with this board

      Most of the patches I used for the ambient songs I've programmed from the scratch. The programming is really easy thanks to the big screen.

    Hey I have this same keyboard and I don’t know how to make it sound like a piano can u please help me

    • @christianssonicspaces494
      @christianssonicspaces494  6 лет назад +1

      If you don't have a piano patch on your WSA then it's pretty easy to make one. Just press the edit button and change on one of the patch the "Oscillators" to one of the piano sounds. Then adjust the other parameter to your like and save it as a custom patch. Can be done within a minute thanks to the large display.

      Morpheus is a joke mate... compared to this! A Rompler with tons of filter settings, that is all Morpheus is! You probably don’t understand the difference between a sampled waveform and a modelled sound of this...
