In this channel I publish my ambient music and other things related to synthesizers and effects. Hopefully this will be an interesting resource for other musicians to hear specifically about particular synthesizers they are interested in.
I have a lot of fun composing and am happy to receive positive feedback when I share it on this channel. However, I don't have a focus on making high-quality videos out of it. I don't have the right equipment or time for this. I apologize for that.

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #142: Roland V-Synth - Song 2
This is the second (lazy sunday) recording with the Roland V-Synth. The V-Synth was Rolands flagship synthesizer released in 2003. It is 16-part multitimbral with up to 24-voices polyphony, featuring analog modeling and PCM waveforms with user sampling that can independently manipulate pitch, time and formant thanks to Rolands VariPhrase technology.
I used for the recording the following FX pedals:
Pigtronix Echolution² Deluxe, GFI System Specular Reverb², Sony DPS-V77
The signal went through a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 into the PC via USB for recording. To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks. On some tracks Compressor and EQ where added in Cubase. The fi...

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #140: Mega MIDI - Song 3
Просмотров 313Месяц назад
This is the third song with the Mega MIDI by Aidan Lawrence. It's an FM synthesizer based on either the YM2612 yamaha chip (used here and in SEGA Genesis / Megadrive home consoles and various SEGA arcade game systems, including the Mega-Play, System 18, and System 32) or the cleaner sounding YM3438 chip without the crossover distortion in the output. Both sound chips has six channels with four ...
Best Ambient Synth Shootout #139: Hartmann Neuron VS - Song 3
Просмотров 333Месяц назад
This is the third recording with the Neuron VS. It's the software (VST) version of the Hartmann Neuron, a novel hardware synthesizer introduced in 2001 based on artificial neural networks used for sound synthesis. The software version of the instrument, was released in 2005. I still have a Windows XP computer, which I use like a hardware synthesizer. Using the built-in M-Audio Audiophil 2496 so...

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #137: SammichFM - Song 2

This is the second recording with the SammichFM. It is a streamlined, compact version of the MIDIbox FM synthesizer DIY kit. Designed around the OPL3 chip YMF262 (4-Operators with 4 different waves), which was a famous sound chip from the 8 bit computer era (e.g. Sound Blaster 16 soundcard), it can play 4-sounds with 6-voice polyphony each. I used for the recording the following FX pedals: Line...

Evening Synths Challenge #2 - Modal Skulpt, VXXY DCM8, Teenage Engineering PO-16 factory
Просмотров 1823 месяца назад
This session was quite challenging. A VA synth, a rare digital chiptune drum machine and a small bare bone synth. Overall, I'm very happy with the result. The most fun part was playing the melody line live with the PO-16. Although you really have to concentrate to play everything correctly with the very small buttons. The Setup was: Synths: Modal Skulpt, VXXY DCM8, Teenage Engineering PO-16 fac...

How much money make music
For me, music doesn't make any money at all, it just costs a lot. But that is balanced out by a lot of fun after a stressful day at work
Beautiful !!! ❤❤❤❤
Many thanks :-)
really like this track
Many thanks :-)
please play a tango! Lol
Never! Lol
Thanks for sharing! A very creative use of this module (sounds like a great movie soundtrack)! I used an SQR in the late 90s, and found it to be a great addition to my studio at the time. I sometimes wish I still had it. :)
Many thanks for your nice comment :-)
Love this one ❤
Many thanks :-)
Awesome stuff my friend
Many thanks my friend :-)
Very nice. How does it compare to the JD990? I got one so dont know if i need the wavestation or if its just GAS 😅
Many thanks :-) I just have the JD-08 and it sounds really great! The Wavestation is a completely different beast in my opinion. But I have now switched to the new Korg Wavestate, which can also replicate the old Wavestation sound.
that some good nice smooth bass
Many thanks :-)
quanta roba,👍 schiaccerei tutti i pulsanti :)
Grazie :-)
Dark SF soundtrack, great!
Many thanks :-)
Excellent... Loud!
Many thanks :-)
Awesome synth, I owned the rack version. I got frustrated with it because the only way to program it properly was through sounddiver, which was very very unstable. Apart from that, awesome sounds, awesome concept and do not forget there is an ensoniq DP style effects engine inside!
Many thanks for your comment :-) There is nowadays an amazing software editor available, called Fauxmo. I agree, the hidden features were no fun, when sound programming directly on the Fizmo.
That rack system its really nice!!! Love it. Who built it?
I built myself. I wanted a vertical system for my small desktop synths to save space. The depth of the racks are just 20 cm. Enough to hide the power strip, midi splitter and all the cables.
AAaaaH Hah ...😊... JusT the Synth i was investigating as i just saw an add for the new Behringer jt mini 🎉 and it's in the same price range 😮❤.... Ive had a STRICKTLY DAWLESS Setup for 5 years now ❤❤🎉😊... But im still looking for a Synth to give me those Real Synthwave high,,Keys ,, And, Leads ,, ❤🎉 .. any suggestions Bro ...🎉 Mind you..😮.. im STILL YET , to delve into the Novation PEAK 🗻,, 😊.. i bought well over a year ago now 😮. Thanks Dude,, jaffa j
Hi! I think for synthwave the Pro VS mini is an interesting and cheap sonic expansion.
FABULOUS Synth Collection Dude ❤❤🎉😊..... And Fantastic 👇 Low PaDs ❤ Jaffa Jenkins Dawless jams 😊
Many thanks for your comment :-)
the jd-08 is a bad ass little synth!
Yes, it is. I love the pads
Moving camera isn't necessary.
Good to know :-) I thought the visuals would be otherwise too minimal for YT
Moving camera is interesting. All the devices here...
Lovely sounds, thanks for sharing! May I ask what vertical Boutique rack you are using? DIY? It looks great and in my experience most racks are more angled instead of fully vertical.
Many thanks for your nice comment :-) Yes, the racks for my Boutiques, Volcas and Livens/GR-1/Microfreak are all DIY. It's the best way to save rare work space and it makes it more easy to tweak them in this vertical position ;-)
@@christianssonicspaces494 Yes that makes sense. I have some vertical wall space left with limited depth, so excellent for a Wall of Boutiques! I'll just need to find a proper set of pins to hold the Boutiques in the correct position.
I use small doorstops that I attached with wood screws instead of nails.
?
Talk about your blast from the past! I remember borrowing one of these from a coworker who'd just bought it, way back in 1987. Lot of cool sounds in that box!
Many thanks for your comment :-) Yes, it has many cool sounds!
lots of stuff👍
Thanks :-)
Hi, what's the black synth under the JD-08?
That's the JX-03.
Yep, a Roland JX-03 ;-)
uno spettacolo!
Grazie :-)
I feel like I'm in a spaceship 🚀 Very cool!!
Many thanks :-)
@christianssonicspaces494 of course! I love synthesizers and want to learn modular one day
I sometimes think that you know all the synthesizers in the world. 😮😊 The sound is very pure, it's very effective, this thing. It smells alive. Insane! On this thing (the thing), it would not be bad to have another synth behind it to make simple music with slightly sophisticated harmonies. Well done, again, dude. 👏🏻
Many thanks for your nice comment :-) Yes, you're right with your suggestion, I think the same. For the album version I am planning to add a soundscape in the background using my GR-1.
@christianssonicspaces494 yoooo
ich hatte einen. Angeschlossen an Solton
Nice Soundscapes! ✌️
Many thanks :-)

Nice~~~~~~~
Many thanks :-)
It doesn't know pity. No exit. 😭✊🏻
;-)
Still looking everywhere to find a dcm8 😅. No luck so far... Great sound!
Many thanks :-) I think the DCM8 is quite rare. Not many batches were produced, if I remember right.
Massive !! Thanks !! I am using it on MacOs on a 32 bit OS.
Many thanks for your nice comment :-)
Which synth is better? This one or the Sonicware Ambient 0?
I think the Ambient 0 is the more flexible one for ambient music because that's what it was developed for. The West Pest is designed for sound discovery of the Buchla synth concept. Percussive, dynamic sounds can be created more easy than lush pad sounds. I think that the two complement each other very well. I love both :-)
Lovely stuff!
Many thanks :-)
Cosmic. Cthulhu fhtagn.
Many thanks :-)

Danke :-)
You should look into sonicware LIVEN ambient Ø. Epicness!
I did already. Check out my <Best Ambient Synth Shootout> channel :-)
sounds great; I love the sounds from the Solina, and this is a very good ambient track. 👍👍👏👏
Many thanks :-)
Sounds beautiful! I have lots of fx but does it have it’s own?
Many thanks :-) Yes, it has own good sounding FX, but I prefer to use my favorit external ones.
Love it! Now I need to work out how to make mine do this
Many thanks :-)
Very VERY nice song, perfect mix and interesting stereo field. These Boutiques from Roland are the brightest gems for the poor man who can't buy a Muse or PB12. Incredible sound quality, high output preamps, no gain staging, AND... physical control of the digital synth. Physical control of digital synths is soooooooooo rare, with Roland leading the way with JD-800, JP-8000, Gaia, Gaia2 and most the Boutiques.
Many thanks for your nice comment :-) The Boutiques are really nice sounding small synths. Perfect for my very limited workspace.
80's movie, great ✊🏻🤌🏻
Many thanks :-)
lovely!
Many thanks :-)
Did you use a lot of the midi channels?
I only ever used one MIDI channel at a time because I recorded this completely serially, track by track. That has been my approach here.
@christianssonicspaces494 ahh okay Very nice. You built up the track, Thank you.
Nice racks. :-) Thanks for the inspiration.
Many thanks :-) I made them myself because I only have very limited work space in my small music studio.
ACB on jp08 is spot on
Many thanks :-)
Nice sounds and track. I like the tic-toc arpeggio.
Many thanks :-)
Cool cases. Did you make those?
Yes, I made them myself because I only have very limited work space in my small music studio. The desktop synthesizers are much clearer and easier to use when you arrange them vertically, similar to a 19'' rack. And you can stack them as high as you like ;-) Mine are 120 cm high.
