Actually both of the rexes you showed were meant to represent the buck rex. The buck is green, the doe is brown. So we haven’t actually gotten a dedicated doe figure. But any rexy will stand in fine

      @JJ_Incognitus Год назад +6

If anything, this new one is unambiguosly called the Buck rex, since Mattel for some reason listed the first Buck as female, hence why people where confused even if canonicaly the green Tyrannosaurus are male (Buck, Junior and the one form JP ///) and the brown ones are female (Rexy and Doe)

Doe isn’t brown though in the film she’s more dark gray with a brownish beige underbelly.

@@StargateStarling maybe in the films lighting, but if you’ve looked at the behind the scenes photos of the doe being painted at Stan Winston studios, the maquette or even the promotional pics featuring animatronics in natural light, she’s definitely brown.

@@foreverkent2225 you are in deed correct. I’ve tried to look up as many pictures of Doe as possible, and it’s not easy to find consistent photos. However, from what I could gather, she clearly isn’t gray as some people may lead to you believe. She is light brown with darker brow stripes, and has two front curved stripping patterns on her cheeks. This seems to be the most consistent color scheme & stripping patterns that I could find, and looking at photos of the animatronics through Google Images, I’m convinced that this claim is far more accurate than that other guy’s claims.

@@foreverkent2225Yeah I’m talking about the one strictly in the film though I already know about how she looks in the behind the scenes and I know that that version still supposed to be her but at the end of the movie she looks more dark grey than brown, which I’m glad it came across like that because Rexy was brown and it kind of makes it a separation. I know though in the Gallimimus scene of the first movie in the tape version of that scene Rexy came off as Grey and the DVD/Blue Ray version she came off as dark brown in that scene but I always felt like even as a kid there was a slight difference in color. Behind the scenes says light brownish with greenish hues for Doe but the movie says Dark gray with the brown underbelly even in daytime. To be honest the movie version of Doe looks better.

I feel you 100% they give no love to the los world 😭 lost world is actually my personal favorite jurassic so it’s extra sad to me we don’t get any real rexes from the movie.
Also they need to make more variety in the Rex bodies… too much reuse of the same rexy body

  • @kingery4410

The lost world and jp3 don’t get enough love. Mattel only focuses on the first one. It’s so annoying because at this point they are basically selling to the older collectors who will pay for whatever they make, so why constantly cheap out and give us sets that make no sense?

As to wether we’ll ever see a Hammond Collection Buck Rex outside of that terrible crowdfunding campaign? I’m sure we will. Mattel wouldn’t ditch the molds of that figure so easily knowing that people actually want it, especially after all the money they’ve put into it. The crowdfunding campaign itself is a bust and honestly a terrible idea, but I’m sure Mattel can salvage those Buck Rex figures and sell them as a regular product.

I don't care about the omitted paint on the toenails or the overall lack of paint.
What I really want is a toy that expresses the T-rex head in Jurassic Park in detail.
It's been five years since Mattel made the Jurassic series.
But I don't think T-rex's head is perfect yet.
This T-rex looks a lot more advanced than the old version.
    But it's still not enough.
Please Mattel make a T-rex head that really looks like Jurassic Park Animetronic and I'd be happy.
I think Mattel can make enough.

Except from what I know, Doe Rex wasn’t green. The closest representation of the Doe Rex in Mattel form to be brutally honest is the Extreme Damage version due to the curved stripes on its face and the more lighter brown color scheme. Unfortunately, nothing will beat the Nanmu T-Rexes version 1 & 2 that easily gives us the best versions of Buck & Doe, but as toys, I’m not too bummed out over the lazy paint scheme. I do at the very least appreciate the darker colors and the new sculpted pieces of Buck and it won’t have its paint chipped as easily as the old Kenner figures. It’s disappointing, sure, but not horrendously terrible either. So, I still say Buck is worth owning and I can tolerate the inferior paint scheme.
Side note: if you want the most accessible versions of Buck & Doe, get this set and the Extreme Damage T-Rex. If you want a better paint scheme, I’m sure there’s plenty of people who can sell them or custom paint this figure for ya. Ultimately, if you want the best figure versions of Buck & Doe that are of high quality, then I highly recommend getting both the Nanmu Rex Brown version (which has the matching colors and facial stripes), and the Nanmu Future King Jungle which is the definitive version of the Buck Rex currently on the market.

Shew we’re all going to have to start being more careful, Mattel is starting to get pretty careless with these toys, they finally made a bigger triceratops and it’s too damn big to scale with ANYTHING very well….the original Thrash n Devour T-Rex from the Fallen Kingdom line is the only rex that scales good with it because it’s so stupidly huge
And omg don’t get me started on that male velociraptor….that thing is a Hasbro level joke, its ugly and it’s 2x the size it should be…I’ve almost quit with the Mattel toys….they had a good start but man they’re getting sloppy anymore
