In the next installment of the Jurassic World comparison series, we take a look at one of the most interesting and unique entries into the franchise: Therizinosaurus! Therizinosaurus has been one of the most heavily requested animals for me to do this kind of video on and I'm very happy with the final result. After the overwhelmingly positive reception of the last video on Giganotosaurus, I'm very happy to continue this series for all of you guys to enjoy. Let me know which animals featured in this video were your favorites! And like last time, for a chance to win a copy of Prehistoric Kingdom, comment #Therizinosaurus in the comments below. Next up on the list: Dilophosaurus!
Also not to say you are wrong but the trex threw the gigs and the theri instinctively thrusted it’s hands helping it pierce what ever was coming towards it
Regardless of how accurate the design is, I really did like the depiction of Therizinosaurus as much more vicious and territorial than the other herbivores in the franchise. A much appreciated breath of fresh air if you ask me. Ngl, with its aggressive behaviour, blind eyes and creepy sound design, I actually found it scarier than any of the carnivores. How about a video on T. rex or Pyroraptor next, please?
I’ve been a dinosaur nerd my whole life and when I saw the Therizinosaurus finally on screen, it was really exciting. I also connected that it’s blindness and it’s “if it moves, it’s a threat” kind of behavior reminded me of the anteaters of South America, Jaguars don’t often mess with them as anteaters essentially swing their claws blindly at anything in their territory, they do a splayed stance as a warning and I like to think the Theri’ did this in life as well. Wonderful video! The animation work is beautiful and I can’t wait to see more.
@@Wobkerer Oh? Im curious, what about it did that for you? It’s a dinosaur I didn’t know very well myself so the inaccuracies that stood out in the others wasn’t very prevalent to me. That and I haven’t seen many mainstream depictions of it before JW and series like Prehistoric Planet also brung it to life in a way more accurate way. The Jurassic series to me was what introduced me as a child to dinosaurs, though I learned later it was highly inaccurate, I took it as “Well, these are monsters made in a lab…not real dinosaurs.” And that changed it to being a fun experience to see them as such in context with the movie, given the controversy surrounding Dominion, it was the most notable scene for me as it was pretty much what I entered the theatre to see.
The blindness of the Theri could also contribute to the aggressiveness of it, as the creature cannot see it cannot exactly know what's a threat or not, so everytime it hears something it would either think it's be stalked or something else is going on, which would make it's fight or flight instincts kick in and it would attack whatever the threat is, just a random thought
The Therizinosaurus in JWD may not have been the most accurate depiction of the animal, but I won’t lie that it was awesome to see this incredibly bizarre dinosaur appear in the JP franchise, as well as more mainstream recognition. I personally like both the feathered monstrous design from the movie and the accurate reconstruction, at the very least it’s better than the “Joker” monstrosity that was the Giganotosaurus.
It’s still sad that they claimed it was scientifically accurate while looking far from the real animal. Like seriously, all the “accurate” prehistoric animals from JWD have feathers and that’s it, they don’t even look like the most accurate depiction of the animal they represent.
@@theangrysuchomimus5163 i feel in jwd its very clear we see different stages in the development of biosyns animals. The giga , atrociraptor and the dimetrodon are gen 1 type expierements made with older methods. Theri, moros ,quetz and pyroraptor are gen 2 .
I like that they gave some dinosaurs disabilities like there's a juvinile baryonyx with a prosthetic limb and the therizinosaurus is blind. It shows that they are real, mortal animals and not terrorfying movie monsters. Love your videos man, I hope you make videos on all the jurasic park/world dinosaurs and non dinosaurs In this spectacular franchise. Stay safe and have a wonderful day.

I like that the movie didn't portray Therizinosaurus as another harmless herbivore, but I think that might be because of its large claws and history of being mistaken for a carnivorous dinosaur. If it didn't have those huge claws, then the movie would've portrayed it like how they portrayed hadrosaurs, which is disappointing.
@@FacuGonz3 I know, I'm just saying the Jurassic franchise tended to show all herbivores as peaceful and gentle, the only herbivores shown being aggressive had obvious weapons like horns, claws, clubs, and spikes. They never showed a hadrosaur fighting back, only running away. I'm just saying, if Therizinosaurus didn't have those massive claws, it would've been portrayed like gentle giants.
@@ambulance-kun5284 These are the exceptions, not normal. In The Lost World, they actually showed how dangerous every dinosaur is, even the Parasaurolophus was able to toss people around as it was being captured. Then, Dominion roles up and shows 1 guy lasso a Parasaurolophus and manage to tame it like a horse, when that thing is bigger than an Elephant.
@@ambulance-kun5284 BIG exception with those, Scorpio's quills and toxin made them hyper aggressive and was the only reason they attacked the campers. Hell, when they bumped into EACH OTHER they tried biting each other like pack carnivores would. The Ouranoaurus shown, by Darius's own words, are normally peaceful herbavores that would NEVER treat the dock as their territory.
In my opinion, I think the Therizenosaurus blindness could be a result of an infection, the genome being broken while it was being made, or a genetic defect of some sort, with the Echolocation of the animal being it adapting to its blindness. But, the DNA with birds using echolocation is a valid guess, and I could see it work out.
I have a rooster named old boy, he was perfectly healthy but as he got older he is now blind in one eye, dad thinks it might be because he got into a fight with another rooster I think it was because of age, it's really interesting thinking about why this dinosaur is blind

7:56 omg that baby therizinosaur is so cute! ❤ I love when people like you and the guys who made prehistoric planet make baby dinosaurs so dang adorable!
@@NaturesCompendium well... Yeah... But that was a more accurate exception... But still, all the other baby dinosaurs in Prehistoric Planet are so cute! My favourites are the baby Velociraptors and the baby T. rex, the Velociraptors because they help show that dromeosaurs did other things than just killing like is often shown in paleo media, and the baby T. rex because their depiction is anatomically accurate, as opposed to how a lot of paleo media depicts baby dinosaurs as just miniature adults.
The reason why Therizinosaurus is my favourite herbivorous dinosaur ever is because it shows us that just because something’s a herbivore doesn’t make it any less dangerous. I mean we live in a world full of Hippos, Rhinos, Deer, Elephants & Buffaloes they’re all herbivores and they can down right dangerous when needed.
Your drawings are amazing, especially the carnivores like Tarbosaurus and T.Rex! I'd love to see more, ooooooh, what about a Spinosaurus, that'd be awesome!
"Not the best for stabbing"... fantastic shade at dominion haha. I think it's funny how #Therizinosaurus has basically the same stance as oudated theropod reconstructions. Thanks for the video!
Well we don’t actually have evidence that they couldn’t stab and in my opinion they could. When you think about how they stemmed from raptors, which do use their claws for stabbing. Why would that adaption go away when they could use it for Stabbing and scratching defence and bringing down leafs (maybe impressing mates). Plus the claws may be thin compared to some other claws but they actually aren’t that thin and thin can still be durable and sharp. The main thing that could make that scene not possible is how thick giganotosaurus skin was, not therizinosaurus claws.

Therizinosaurus is my second favourite dinosaur overall (Parasaurolophus being my most favourite) and I enjoyed it's depiction in Dominion, even if it isn't completely accurate. I just liked that it's the first herbivorous dinosaur that actively helped out in the fight against the "antagonistic" dinosaur.
**OMG YES YES I ANOTHER NEW VIDEO** I really love this so much, and also the you're Therizinosaurus designs is beautiful and it sounds angry lol I wish you're having a great day
Great video! It's made without bashing the Jurassic Park/world franchise, and gets me even more interested into paleontology, which I thought wasn't possible. Keep it up! :D 👍 Oh, and Deinocheirus is my favourite non-avian dinosaur.
#Therizinosaurus I love your videos, it's the perfect blend of informative and entertaining. Also can I just say your drawings and animations are beautiful and you can tell you put a lot of work and effort into them!
This video, like all of yours in general, are phenomenal! Please don’t stop making these! My hat goes off to you sir! well done! At some point, I would love to see you cover triceratops. I have such a soft spot for that ceratopsian!
I used to be more "bashy" in the past before I did animation style videos. Now I want these videos to be enjoyable to as many people as possible, hence why I do my best to stay balanced. Of course it's far from perfect, and plenty of paleo or jurassic world enthusiasts aren't always happy with how I do things, but I'm still learning as I go :D
This is amazing, adorable animation. Therizinosaurus was one of my favourites as a kid and so I'm glad it's finally getting some recognition, but despite featuring heavily in promotional material for the film, it's name is never mentioned. Reading comments on FB and RUclips people called it the slasher/murder turkey and some called it Freddie Kruger, others thought it was a made up dinosaur lol. Great video on #Therizinosaurus.
No matter how accurate or inaccurate Dominion Theri is to the real thing, you have to realize that this is a big leap in the franchise ; having feathers! The closest we got to feathers (I think) are the small quills of JP3 male raptors
Great Job on the video! The first time I became aware of #Therizinosaurus was from a Jurassic Park Field guide book in 1999. Everything about it just seemed so strange. When I learned that the #Therizinosaurus was going to show up on the latest Jurassic film I was excited to see how it would be portrayed. I can't wait to see how future discoveries may "revise" this animal.
Great video about #Therizinosaurus Inaccuracies aside, it's good to see fairly niche dinosaurs in this mainstream movies, hell, I didn't know about Moros or Pyroraptor before if it wasn't for dominion.
Another inaccuracy of the Jurassic world dominion Therizinosaurus is the placement of the feathers. The feathers look like they were copied and pasted on a scaly reptile, they look a bit too artificially placed and not naturally added like being fully feathered. Though it was still a good dinosaur and I loved seeing it in the movie. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for this interedting Video. Therizinosaurus is a Great species. By the way just in 11:48 actually JDW model claws seems too straight or with too little curvature. But you're right in the other factors. The head form was the worst feature.
14:32 not biosyn. According to them the biosyn clones are 100% correct. This means the franchise has a different prehistory from our real prehistory. This is further supported by Trex and Giganotosaurus being in North America in the prologue (plus the giga design doesn't change). So in universe the therizinosaurus is 100% accurate.
In my head cannon, I like to think that there's multiple therizinosaurs in the biosyn sanctuary, and that specific one that yeeted the deer, is just an asshole... 😅😂
A great video on one of my favorite dinos! I'd like to make a request that the subtitles are given a second look though. Most of the dinosaur names are either incorrect or inconsistently spelled, with beipiaosaurus being transcribed as "baby Allosaurus", and theri itself constantly switching between "there are xenosaurs", "theraxinosaurus" and "therizinosaurus" in the subtitles.
Have yet to see Jurassic World Dominion but, they made Therizinosaurus blind? That seems like a rather odd decision, is it the particular individual in the film or is it the species in general in the Jurassic World universe? Great video btw, almost forgot to say that. Been loving your content for years now, let's go 50k!
Maybe not the most accurate iteration, but it was still better than expected, nonetheless! I’m just happy for my favorite dinosaur to FINALLY be getting some love in two mainstream grand productions this year! Love me some #therizinosaurus
One of the redeeming qualities of this movie was how they presented this beast, while i like the design as a fictional creature i despise the fact that the movie claims to have an accurate theri, a shame.
I learnt of this dino from the anime Dino King, yes, I loved it, the "Echolocation" might be a possibility if the Theri has been blind for some time, after all, they tell us that the dinos on biosyn were many times, rescued or trasported from other places, so there is a chance that it was born with sight but lost it
In Jurassic World’s defense, they never suggested that they were scientifically accurate. Dr. Henry Wu said “Nothing in Jurassic World is natural, we have always filled gaps in the genome with the DNA of other animals. And if the genetic code was pure, many of them would look quite different.”
my absolutely favorite depiction of a Theri comes from the game "The Isle" I love the death turkey, its my favorite dinosaur closely followed by the Spinosaurus
There are some other inaccuracies with the jurrasic world dominion therizinosaurus. The legs are a bit too long, the tail is a bit too long, the neck is a bit too short, the posture should be more upright and it lacks a pot belly. It seems like the person who designed the therizinosaurus said 'let's get rid of everything that was unique and special about the real therizinosaurus except for its long claws' . Well at least it's better than the horrific monstrosities that are the Jurrasic world/park giganotosaurus, dilophosaurs and velociraptor.
6:06 update, a study published on the use of claws in basal maniraptorian coelurosaurs using finite element analysis of the claws of therizinosaurids and alverezsauroids and mapped out their functional space to show their claw functionality in stress bearing tasks. This determined that derived alverezsaurids would have been efficient at digging and more basal therazinosaurids such as fulcarius had arms adapted for piercing and pulling to pull branches to feed on vegetation and all other therizinosaurids showed signs of functional use in scratch digging, piercing and pulling at vegetation, implying a use similar to ground sloths such as megatherium, but therazinosaurus' claws would have been too fragile to undergo any significant stress in forms of combat, foraging or other such uses. It instead argues a use for display both sexual and as intimidation and that it's claws served the same evolutionary role as the antlers of megaloceras, and may have also been sexualy selected for in a similar fashion.
13:05 (As of 2024) It’s important to note that in material like Jurassic World Evolution 2 and the Hammond Collection toy series, the Therizinosaurus is not blind, meaning it’s possible the Terizinosaurus we see in Dominion became blind by chance rather than by purpose
#Therizinosaurus is one of my favorite theropods and dinosaurs overall, and as much as JW:D’s wasn’t perfect, I think it fits perfectly in the franchise’s world while also being fairly representative of the core aspects of its real-life counterpart
12:05 one of them broke tho You can tell that they did try their hardest to make the theri accurate, but because Hollywood typically (as usual) butchers the movie, they still tried to make it at least somewhat accurate. Like they’re saying “we know they should’ve broke and we’re sorry we couldn’t add that. This is the best we can do. We promise we care.”

Tickle chicken Tickle chicken Tickle chicken Tickle chicken Tickle chicken Tickle chicken Tickle chicken Tickle chicken Tickle chicken
The idea of a giant three toed sloth EMU chasing you around the jungle and making clicking sounds is terrifying
An Ark Player's worst nightmare: the mighty tickle chicken!
I love how the eyebrow ridges of T. rex looks so cool that JP gave all their theropods the same brow ridges.
It’s my favourite :)
An incredibly unique dinosaur that I hope gets featured in more media like Prehistoric Kingdom!

**OMG YES YES I ANOTHER NEW VIDEO**
I really love this so much, and also the you're Therizinosaurus designs is beautiful and it sounds angry lol
I wish you're having a great day
Thank you Kuitaran! Glad you enjoyed the video :D
I LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS,BEEN FAN FOR YEARS
And hope you have a great year
Great video! It's made without bashing the Jurassic Park/world franchise, and gets me even more interested into paleontology, which I thought wasn't possible. Keep it up! :D 👍
Oh, and Deinocheirus is my favourite non-avian dinosaur.
Glad you enjoyed it! And Deinocheirus is one of my all time favorite non-avian dinosaurs as well
@@NaturesCompendium Awesome! My profile picture is a Deinocheirus from curiosity stream.
#Therizinosaurus I love your videos, it's the perfect blend of informative and entertaining. Also can I just say your drawings and animations are beautiful and you can tell you put a lot of work and effort into them!
Thank you so much 😀I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
This video, like all of yours in general, are phenomenal! Please don’t stop making these! My hat goes off to you sir! well done!
At some point, I would love to see you cover triceratops. I have such a soft spot for that ceratopsian!
Finally a new video been waiting this for months
What’s this? A channel that compares the Jurassic world prehistoric animals to the accurate ones without just hating on the franchise? That’s rare!
@@NaturesCompendium it’d be cool if you did the Nothosaurus from season 5 of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous due to how unique the animal is
This is amazing, adorable animation.
The closest we got to feathers (I think) are the small quills of JP3 male raptors
woah awesome video, awesome animations and graphics but totally underrated! hope to see more of those videos
Don't forget to comment #Therizinosaurus for a chance to win a copy of Prehistoric Kingdom!
I love the idea of therizinosaurus having feathers on its hand only leaving the first finger visible.
Ark players know not to mess around with them if you are underprepared
Love this video! We all appreciate you for showing the more unknowing audience how these animals looked like.
#Therizinosaurus
Great Job on the video! The first time I became aware of #Therizinosaurus was from a Jurassic Park Field guide book in 1999. Everything about it just seemed so strange. When I learned that the #Therizinosaurus was going to show up on the latest Jurassic film I was excited to see how it would be portrayed. I can't wait to see how future discoveries may
"revise" this animal.
how very chaos theory of Jeff Goldblum to have a commercial before this video
Once again, never ceases to amaze me. Excellent work and definitely worth the wait!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Keep posting videos like this this is very educational love it!
I love your art style, I’ve watched every video and enjoyed. Keep up the good work man!
You forgot to add Fukuivenator, which is now considered to be the oldest known Therizinosaur to have ever existed.
Great video about #Therizinosaurus Inaccuracies aside, it's good to see fairly niche dinosaurs in this mainstream movies, hell, I didn't know about Moros or Pyroraptor before if it wasn't for dominion.
the art in this video is stunning.
Thank you!
Fantastic information! Thank you
U are really Underatted! u should have competed with the other big dino tubers! u earned a sub. i hope u can get 1m :D Good Luck
Thank you so much for this interedting Video.
Therizinosaurus is a Great species.
By the way just in 11:48 actually JDW model claws seems too straight or with too little curvature.
But you're right in the other factors.
The head form was the worst feature.
* the narrator stops talking and there is a dinoosaur on-screen *
everybody: Let me guess. They're about to roar.
Finally u upload about the accurate vs Movie creature content
Happy to see another video of yours released
In my head cannon, I like to think that there's multiple therizinosaurs in the biosyn sanctuary, and that specific one that yeeted the deer, is just an asshole... 😅😂
Interesting theory!
7:56 WHY IS THIS SO CUTE A WANT A THOUSAND OF THEM AND WHY DON’T WE HAVE A JURASSIC VERSION OF IT
This is an amazing video! Makes me curious to how a comparison between Pyroraptor or Atrociraptors would be like.
That would be cool!
Love these videos and love #Therizinosaurus ! Hope to see more content soon.
It's like blind in one eye, as it can clearly see but is very short sighted like a rhino
It’s most likely just in that individual making it in the entire species would be a weird decision though I’m not 100% sure
@@godzillakingofthemonsters5812no it was blind in both eyes
Maybe not the most accurate iteration, but it was still better than expected, nonetheless! I’m just happy for my favorite dinosaur to FINALLY be getting some love in two mainstream grand productions this year! Love me some #therizinosaurus
One of the redeeming qualities of this movie was how they presented this beast, while i like the design as a fictional creature i despise the fact that the movie claims to have an accurate theri, a shame.
Jurassic World's Therizinosaurus is pretty cool despite its inaccuracies. Though Ark (surprisingly) has a more accurate design.
I learnt of this dino from the anime Dino King, yes, I loved it, the "Echolocation" might be a possibility if the Theri has been blind for some time, after all, they tell us that the dinos on biosyn were many times, rescued or trasported from other places, so there is a chance that it was born with sight but lost it
Been waiting for this one!
In Jurassic World’s defense, they never suggested that they were scientifically accurate. Dr. Henry Wu said “Nothing in Jurassic World is natural, we have always filled gaps in the genome with the DNA of other animals. And if the genetic code was pure, many of them would look quite different.”
Thank you so much for making this video, you're doing therizinosaur fans like me a service 💗
Therizinosaurus! 🤗
my absolutely favorite depiction of a Theri comes from the game "The Isle" I love the death turkey, its my favorite dinosaur closely followed by the Spinosaurus
I'm really happy to see #Therizinosaurus becoming more mainstream, it's an incredible animal :)
#Therizinosaurus I'm so glad i found ur channel and so glad these are the type of videos u make, keep it going strong dude 🫡
These videos are really well made and educational!
I think its the animation that keeps me coming to this channel. If i had to choose between this and AI - I choose this.
Been looking forward to this one
#Therizinosaurus. love your videos, your animations are the best I've seen!
Can you do a series on how accurate ARK Survival Evolved dinos are? I think that would open you up to a new audience and just be pretty cool
I will closer to Ark 2s release 😅
1:29 That theri sounds a lot more like a stego ay?
I was looking for a comment about this! Thank you for sharing my thoughts, that must be the isles stego!
Another amazing video, I can't to see you make a scientifically accurate Tyrannosaurus-Rex video soon.
Maybe being blind helped made it even more aggressive
I'd like you to make, how accurate was the Spinosaurus from Jurassic park 3 and how accurate is the T.Rex from Jurassic world ❤️❤️❤️
You need to review every dromaeosaur in the franchise, including the hybrids Indoraptor and Scorpios rex.
in Jurassic World Dominion, the character ramsey cole said the clones are 100% pure and no dna from other animals are mixed in
Great video. The Theri was quite an intimidating creature. #Therizinosaurus
Underrated channel, love your animation style #therizinosaurus
Thank's for You Information!
12:05 one of them broke tho
You can tell that they did try their hardest to make the theri accurate, but because Hollywood typically (as usual) butchers the movie, they still tried to make it at least somewhat accurate.
Like they’re saying “we know they should’ve broke and we’re sorry we couldn’t add that. This is the best we can do. We promise we care.”
Loved this #Therizinosaurus video!
