Marco I was crystalizing the previous buck you did with overdone wash stage. Man this is your greatest creation. The blending, your color palet and the fact you did spent extra time with doing extra details is just perfect figure also the eyes make it look like stand maquette. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Makes me happy to see this! I love how determination, technology and creativity has resulted in making custom builds like this so accessible for fans. Your steps are easy to understand and fun to follow as it comes together and it’s especially cool to learn the extra sculpted touches that really bring out the character.
I do cringe a bit seeing bare skin on the epoxy clay though, just from how bad it’s impacted a couple artist friends. I think many can be ok with it, but it’s also possible to develop severe allergic reactions from regular exposure to these types of clays making it unsafe to use. Might be more likely for those with sensitive skin but getting good fitting gloves and making them a habit is a safe way to go. Just would be a good psa for any folk looking to emulate these steps, where some might end up having a rather bad time.
Watching this makes me wish so much I could come across a Rex to mod as well. You did such a beautiful job!

@louiegarcia7992 thanks. I mixed it in myself using primary colours. It came out looking like an olive green. The dinosaur style guide helps too.
@@MarcoMakesOfficial I believe I told you it was olive green 🫒 before on Jurassic World Dominion style guide buck T-Rex 🦖 i’m not sure if you remember but the male T-Rex 🦖 from the lost world and dominion skin color was olive 🫒 green from the start ❤ and it was the accurate skin color 🎉 I love that color

As much as I hoped for Mattel to release the official Buck T-Rex figure on store, I absolutely love this version better.
This is so well done and looks even better than the crowdfund Buck! If I find the time and patience, I'd love to take on this project myself.

I ran into too many issues with the dunking in hot water for the head and ruined one Rex, so I opted to just use a pair of large wire cutters and cut the head shell off and the dremel the peg holes open.
That works too 👍

Thats exactly what i did too and im having some trouble applying the head after drilling. I tried to drill centered as much as possible. Didnt come out perfect, maybe the holes need sanding?
Got any advice for slipping the head on? Or advice on drilling the peg holes?
Had the same problem... but in mine I've tried everything to hollow out the peg holes (literally every peg on the bottom jaw broke in the hole during the extraction process) to no avail. Bought a drill even, but the stuck bits inside are like concrete. Not really quite sure what to do now...

Hi marco i just wanna say that i wish you could make rubber figures of human characters in the jurassic park series which are movie accurate and also have detachable arms and legs that will look like its bitten off when detached. It also has to be the same scale as the dinosaurs! It will be fun to watch

i was going to disassemble this and paint it part by part, but after seeing your video, I might not! Really loved the finished paintwork. how do you avoid paintrub?
Took a stab at it today & destroyed my rex… definitely don’t rush it everybody, give extra time in the hot water for the head, even if it’s soft. I was too heavy handed with it & ended up snapping the base pink plastic head. No glue was strong enough so I need to get another figure.

If you use a proper sealant after painting it shouldn’t chip
@@sorasart In my experience, no sealant protects against paint rub in the joints when they're tight. It's literally plastic scratching on plastic. You even see it on widely commercial figures, the Crocker or TMNT Spring from Fury Planet come to mind. A lot of people will sand away or remove material in the joints to prevent this.

We personally don’t play around or pose our figures much so they don’t need a heavy amount of protection. I can understand sanding the joints a little if you intend to use the figure a lot, for something like stop motion.
