These yellow glasses work great at night with oncoming headlights, but they are only $10 at autozone. Really takes the harshness off of the blue headlights many new cars have.
I know your comment is around a year old, but there are way better options. Optician here :) The better Option is to buy glasses with "blue protect" They are normal white 100% clear, no Yellow. The Upper Coat absorbs the critical portion of the LED Headlight spectrum. Giving you perfect sight while also lowering the LED Lights. Those yellow glasses, they work in a kinda way of block nearly all blue light but many colors contain it in a way, meaning: Warning colors get worse to see. And they take a portion of light away, meaning: Worse sight in Bad light situations.

Yellow lenses help with night time driving for people with astigmatism. It helps block out the "flares"(if you don't have astigmatism, then you won't understand), that can be quite blinding. But...you don't have to spend $80 as any yellow lenses work for the most part. I wear $6 yellow lens safety glasses at night, and it works well.
I’ve owned a few wide angle mirrors and they’re great for pickups (just angle it so your reflection doesn’t take up the majority of it). Amber lenses help with low light conditions. Pro tip- these devices are available from many sources for way cheaper.

those yellow glasses definitely help those with astigmatism, or LASIK for night driving, I was legally blind most of my life, had LASIK it made light diffract a lot worse at night for me, but gave me depth and spatial reasoning, the yellow glasses make a serious difference on a highway at night its not that they make it easier to see at night, but it helps prevent you from getting blinded and needing a second to recover your vision in the darker spots while driving (basically helps keep your pupils from dilating to small for the situation, as your eyes go "oh its day" and go smaller, but actually need to be bigger to continually see the dark sections coming up.)
All I have to say is those night time glasses 100% work. I always thought it was bs till I got stuck driving through 3 tornados with so much rain you can barely see in front of you -while also at night. I had a blown head gasket so I didn't want to stop incase the van wouldn't start again, so I had to keep going. I had a pair of John Lennon glasses with yellow lenses and remembered the night time driving glasses has yellow lenses. I put them on and could see about 3 to 4 feet further, which was a lot considering I could only see like 10ft in front of me to begin with. They aren't as good as the commercials make them out to be, but they def work and probably saved my life as well.
That siphon pump is really useful at the racetrack for getting race gas out of your vehicles since they usually can't be stored with it. See them used a lot!
Truck driver here. 5:20 segment of the video and night time glasses. I work at night driving a lot of back highways and what not. I was coming home with consent migraine headaches from people driving both behind and at the truck with their high beams on. From the back is way worse cause it/they are consistently bouncing off the mirrors into you eyes. I finally talk to my Optometrist and got actual night time prescription glasses. No more migraine headaches. But if you think $80 is expensive. Every time my prescription changes for my normal glasses I pay $1100-1200 for new night glasses....worth every single cent.
The night time glasses: I have astigmatism and my optometrist recommended the filters that go over my normal glasses, huge difference. The transfer pump: $80 is insane. You can get THE EXACT SAME PUMP for $10 at Harbor Freight. I use it for fueling my sxs when on trails and it actually works great lol
exactly the same, same color and everything, i bought one for evacuating old fuel out of a gas tank, and the batteries cost more than the pump. it does work well though
they already got the car about a month back. I unfortunately saw the new car, and I will tell you that you have indeed seen the car too in this video! I can tell you which one it is but i’m gonna need $50.

I got my glasses redone a few months ago and they gave me 2 magnetically attached lenses one dark for sunny days and one yellow for night (250€), the yellow ones really help at night reducing the incoming headlights and the city illumination light, you don't get as tired, you need to test them on the road at night
Yea but lets be honest, the ones this company is selling is the cheapest option from china and then sold at a ridiculous markup. I believe those glasses we’re just yellow tinted plastic

I really like the "night driving" glasses. Especially when encountering a brooo with blue led lights 🤣 Though I got some of the "as seen on tv" "hd glasses" for like 20 bucks at walmart or something instead of 80
I wear a pair of glasses like that all the time they used to be called blue blockers but I just like how they look and I get a lot of compliments on them. Seven bucks on Amazon
Hey guys, I actually own yellow glasses for night driving (not sharper image brand). They actually do help in my experience with eye strain and make on coming lights less intense. I'd recommend a better test next time around, as in try driving for long periods with them.
The logic behind them by the way is that the blue color receptors in your eye are not very sensitive in low light. So if you wear yellow glasses (i.e. blocking blue channel), it doesn't affect your ability to see in low light very much...but when a car's headlights are shining towards you, the glasses are cutting out at least one part of that light, making it a little less bright.
For the mirror thing, I love having a big mirror because I’ve had to drive vans and hatchbacks that kinda have meh rear views. Makes it easier for me to at least check if somebody else is in the next lane if I’m trying to change into it
I gotta say we bought one of those 360 swivel seat cushions, just for my dad who has parkinsons and had a brain tumor. it helped him so much! Sadly it was a cheap one and just didn't last well.
I was looking for a comment about this product. This product is definitely meant to help certain people with disabilities and it seems like it would be pretty effective
I have 2 pairs of those nighttime driving glasses, and they're amazing for driving in poor visibility (rain, snow, fog) and after dusk (night); greatly reduces the glare of the lights of oncoming traffic. But I got them at Dollar General for $20 a pair, and I've seen them in Walmart for about the same price. As for the 360 swivel seat they work best if you back in, sit down with your legs still outside the car, then swivel in; it's great if you have a cast on your leg, or are unable to bend/move normally, like being paralyzed from the waist down.
I gotta say, I got myself one of those rearview mirrors. But it's colored to help with high beams at night. Being able to see your rear passengers makes it easier to talk to them for sure. Maybe yours is just a little bigger then the one I got cause I haven't had any issues.. actually quite enjoy it
I think this is exactly the problem. You're not supposed to look at your passengers when you're driving. The increased field of view doesn't make driving any safer, but distracts you with faces of your passengers and blocks your view of the road in front. I think this gadget is dangerous.
@@violonicit's not about consciously looking at them, it's that every time you want to check your back you see their faces and it distracts you. And also you see them all the time in the corner of your eye even if you look forwards. I think it would make it harder for me to stay focused on the road. The standard mirrors in cars are designed to give you the road and just the road, nothing more, nothing less.
@@violonic "I have this phone mounted in front of my face with twitter feed, I'm not looking at it every god damn second so it's completely absolutely safe", gtfo of here with this crap. You are driving a giant bullet easily capable of killing someone or destroying some property. You should limit all possible distractions and focus on the road and traffic. "I can look at my kids in the back" is a huge distraction.
Those mirrors are literally used by race car drivers. Personally I’ve need many many rally drivers use them mounted around where the passenger visor is. Works like a charm for seeing things right up against you.
The wide rearview mirrors are actually very helpful. I don't have the sharper image brand so can't speak on that, but you can get various width mirrors as well as a flat mirror versus convex.
The lil battery powered pump for gas and other liquids actually works. My old boss had one for filling our snowblower with gas. It's good for not spilling gas on your paved driveway and having the gas destroy your pavement.
@@mikehall3976 The stock mirror in my 05 Crown Victoria didn't allow a full view. You could favor one side or the other or the middle. The rear glass in your van is further back which probably makes a difference. I've also noticed some newer cars have wider mirrors from the factory
The yellow glasses actually help in dimly-lit situations, including bad weather. Back when I was racing, I always kept a yellow-tinted visor for my helmet for races in the rain. To this day, I still keep a pair of yellow glasses in my truck.
I have some yellow glasses for driving at night while it's raining. (Not Sharper Image) It actually blocks the glare from the headlights and the rain so I can actually see the lines in the road. I love them!
I think Sharper Image was bought out by the Chinese. I remember their products being much better in terms of affordability, practicality, and build quality. The items here didn't really fit any of those categories.
I've had a panoramic mirror in each of my last almost 10 vehicles. I can't recommend them enough. Lane changes with them are awesome. For some it is "too much" but you get used to it. Depending on the vehicle style, sometimes they're better or worse. But I recommend them regardless. They're really nice in a two door truck.
The fuel pump is super usefull in the right applications. I’ve worked on a motorcycle dealership that didn’t have its own big tank for filling up the bikes, instead there was loads of 20l gas cans and those are heavy to lift up and use in the “normal” way, so every time you filled up using the cheap plastic fuel pump you were really thankful not having to hoist the whole thing over the fuel tank and being afraid of spilling gas all over the paint.
having driven professionally, I actually do find yellow lenses helpful. The use case is pretty small, but If it's raining at night, having polarized yellow lenses cut the glare from puddles and headlights and increases contrast. Makes things a bit dimmer in general cause of the slight tint, but they can be helpful. again, pretty rare that I would wear them, but in some cases it can be good. don't think the average driver is going to get a ton of use out of it...
That "swivel cushion" 3:04 can be useful for, say an immobile passenger, like a guy on a wheelchair or people on walkers. • The butt can sit firm first, then the back leans inside, then legs just need to turn inside. Plus, A person (driver/passenger) who uses that can avoid much wrinkles in his pants just from sitting in and out of the car.
you can make the gas can easier to use by taking apart the “valve” mechanism, removing the spring, and putting it all back together. now you can have it open or closed without having to push it against something
I think you guys are missing the point of a few of these products. For example, a lot of track drivers really do use those huge mirrors as it helps with blindspots, it's not that it helps you see out the back window better but it lets you see out of the side windows without turning your head. The transfer pump is very useful if you have a larger gas tank that is too heavy to hold for some people while filling, or for putting transmission fluid in a lot of cars. I would imagine the yellow glasses are very useful for people with astigmatism as glare can be a huge problem. So I don't think your most of your criticisms of those products are valid. With that being said, every single product you purchased is ridiculously overpriced. Yellow glasses: $10, transfer pump: $10, mirror: maybe $20. They are for sure ripping people way the fuck off.
Agree on the glasses entirely. I have astigmatism in both eyes and night time glasses are great in Colorado (which does exist James) where there aren't steet lights and people use their high beams on the highway with no consideration for anyone else
This episode was my least favorite in the series so far. I know it's all for fun and games, but normally they give more effort into the testing. With that being said, I still watched untill the end
I have an 85 300ZX. I put a convex mirror in it and I can practically see around the entire car. That paired with my fender mounted mirrors completely eliminates my blind spots
I use one of those wide rear view mirrors in my Japanese nugget van, it's awesome. I can see everything happening on the right side through the side windows. I honestly love it. Only downside is that it blocks the passengers sun visor from going down all the way.
I wear amber vision glasses at night because all these LED blinders new cars have now. Amber vision stops the glare and makes stuff more visible. Glass ones are better than plastic here.

Dude, those rearview mirrors are a must at the track. I have so many blindspots wearing a helmet and strapped in the harness.

The Sharper Image are crooks! I bought the literal exact same liquid pump from harbor freight for $11 ! It works fine and love it but it's not $80
Does it suck gas OUT of the tank tho? If yes, how did u attach longer hose?
@@daigosaito888 nah, it's made specifically for shallow tanks, not built for anything longer than the black spout part of it. But still good for 11 bucks.
The fact that the hose it comes with is so short you can't place the gas container on the ground next to your car makes it pretty much pointless IMO...
@@daigosaito888 I guess that depends on the direction the batteries are put in. If you change the current the pump would reverse...
I love my hobo freight pump! I zip tied 2 together so I can fill an atv in less than 2 minutes.
Yeah, I've got a 20-year-old pick up with tiny little mirrors and I got myself a 15 and a 1/2 I think inch convex anti-glare blue filter mirror and it's a lifesaver...
Literally the same one that these guys are using that again has no branding on it and it even came in a nicer Box it's in a very nice Box from Japan instead of that generic plain cardboard-looking Box and it was only what I think 22 bucks.
10$ AliExpress, blue tinted and super clear.
Those yellow glasses actually work great when there’s snow falling towards you when your driving, it doesn’t catch the glare from the lights and make it impossible to see. It’s useful in Canada if you get decent ones
THIS. I wore some driving through 3 tornados with heavy downpour at night and could barely see anything. Slapped some glasses on and could see a few more feet ahead. Unexpected lifesaver for real.

those yellow glasses definitely help those with astigmatism, or LASIK for night driving, I was legally blind most of my life, had LASIK it made light diffract a lot worse at night for me, but gave me depth and spatial reasoning, the yellow glasses make a serious difference on a highway at night
its not that they make it easier to see at night, but it helps prevent you from getting blinded and needing a second to recover your vision in the darker spots while driving
(basically helps keep your pupils from dilating to small for the situation, as your eyes go "oh its day" and go smaller, but actually need to be bigger to continually see the dark sections coming up.)
But probably don't worth 80 bucks

I got my glasses redone a few months ago and they gave me 2 magnetically attached lenses one dark for sunny days and one yellow for night (250€), the yellow ones really help at night reducing the incoming headlights and the city illumination light, you don't get as tired, you need to test them on the road at night
Specsavers has anti glare as an option on regular lenses and iirc it doesn't cost much
Yea but lets be honest, the ones this company is selling is the cheapest option from china and then sold at a ridiculous markup. I believe those glasses we’re just yellow tinted plastic
@@chefr6210 I have added a 10 bucks Alixpress plastic anti-glare foldable yellow rectangle to my vehicle sun visor. I have the same benefits as Monk Monk. And I just wish I could do the same with my rear mirror. Best 10 bucks spent ever for a car thing, for me.

Yellow lenses are for night driving with astigmatism
Those "night" glasses totally work fixing a bad hangover though.

sharper image used to be one of my favorite stores to walk through and never buy anything.
Hey guys, I actually own yellow glasses for night driving (not sharper image brand). They actually do help in my experience with eye strain and make on coming lights less intense. I'd recommend a better test next time around, as in try driving for long periods with them.
Have the same opinion, I bought a yellow tinted cyclist glasses for about $6 from a sports store and it was my best choice.
Yeah they are great for cycling, really makes a big difference if youre cycling on a road. Also you can find them for just a few dollars.

You got ripped off by dollar general. At most, they should've been $1.25
THESE ARE THE BEST I just cant get enough of these weird gadget tests, so fun Im excited to see the new D list car, that jetta was iconic though
Driving for 5 hours at night with high beams blinding you - gotta tell you, these driving glasses do help A LOT.
@@unfa00 you can't be serious 😐 your not looking at your passengers every damn second your driving.
@@violonicit's not about consciously looking at them, it's that every time you want to check your back you see their faces and it distracts you. The wide rearview mirrors are actually very helpful. I don't have the sharper image brand so can't speak on that, but you can get various width mirrors as well as a flat mirror versus convex.
Best use for it is to mount it on a bus or a tuck with a flatbed. Its a big no on cars as the mirror is big enough to block your view.

The lil battery powered pump for gas and other liquids actually works. My old boss had one for filling our snowblower with gas. It's good for not spilling gas on your paved driveway and having the gas destroy your pavement.
When I was in Japan, I bought a stendo mirror. They're actually pretty awesome. Allows me to see corner to corner of my rear window.
I don't know what cars you guys are driving, but the stock mirror in my 4th gen caravan lets me see all four corners.
@@mikehall3976 The stock mirror in my 05 Crown Victoria didn't allow a full view. You could favor one side or the other or the middle. The rear glass in your van is further back which probably makes a difference. I've also noticed some newer cars have wider mirrors from the factory
I've never been in a car with a stock mirror that doesn't let you see the whole rear window
The yellow glasses actually help in dimly-lit situations, including bad weather. Back when I was racing, I always kept a yellow-tinted visor for my helmet for races in the rain. To this day, I still keep a pair of yellow glasses in my truck.

I would love to see another collaboration like this ❤️
I think Sharper Image was bought out by the Chinese. I remember their products being much better in terms of affordability, practicality, and build quality. The items here didn't really fit any of those categories.
The collaboration we didn't know we needed but the one we deserve
The yellow glasses are especially helpful when driving in fog or snow. You really can see farther down the road wearing them.
I feel like this video was made especially for me thank you both I love watching mystery tech and I can’t get enough of donut
The yellow lenses are great in winter. It feels like they increase depth perception when everything is white and blindingly bright.
They work great for cutting the yard when it's really dried out and barely grew since the last cutting, you can see the stripes so much easier.
Right after my mom had hip surgery, she could have used this
you can make the gas can easier to use by taking apart the “valve” mechanism, removing the spring, and putting it all back together. now you can have it open or closed without having to push it against something
The fuel syphon is usually used for getting fuel out of a tank into a can, or stealing in the bad old days
I have astigmatism in both eyes and night time glasses are great in Colorado (which does exist James) where there aren't steet lights and people use their high beams on the highway with no consideration for anyone else
this video is more entertainment than in depth review.... take what they say at face value...
This is basically an episode of Mystery Tech that Austin doesn't have to spend money for.
Would totally buy the fuel pump for the shop.. would make a great transfer pump from 55 gallon drum to fuel can, or to fill up that pesky lawnmower
You can get the same pump for way cheaper tho
I use one of those wide rear view mirrors in my Japanese nugget van, it's awesome. I can see everything happening on the right side through the side windows. I honestly love it. Only downside is that it blocks the passengers sun visor from going down all the way.
I wear amber vision glasses at night because all these LED blinders new cars have now. Amber vision stops the glare and makes stuff more visible. Glass ones are better than plastic here.
I’ve been wanting to try them since I drive a lot at night for work, what brand are yours?
I felt attacked LOL. I actually use something similar on my rearview mirror in my SUV. I love it because I can see out every window even a small amount of my driver side window and passenger side window. Definitely eliminates Blindspot‘s and even helps a lot at certain times when parking or pulling out of a parking spot.
As a truck driver yellow tinted glasses 100% make a huge difference for driving at night for hours with oncoming traffic. They work.
Me and my dad used to go into “sharper image” or “as seen on tv” stores and get a good laugh at some of the stuff in there
More tool party!
The swivel chair works for people who can't get in and out of a car easily. My mom, she had MS and couldn't move her legs great, used it to help her swivel in and out of the car.
The 360 thing seems really great…. For the elderly.
I actually find the yellow glasses useful when dealing with high beans, as Jose the reviewer noted. You all missed an opportunity for an interesting test.
The flash light they used has a very narrow light compared to a car headlight which is wide
High BEANS? Very odd
For those of us that own land and have weather and need lawn equipment like snow blowers and lawn mowers, that pump seems pretty useful.
